Refreshing Spring Water is a card to watch for sure. However I think it's fair to first nerf the problematic card then see where things land before further hurting spell mage. The deck still should exist and still be strong just not turn 3 playing 6+ mana spells strong. If they do hit the Spring Water I'd love to see it just go to refreshing 1 mana per spell. This would make it a 2 mana Arcane Intellect in spell mage rather than a 0 mana one. Hopefully though they won't need too and the deck will slow down enough to have more counter play.
I really like to agree with you on the watchpost, in that the nerfs are kinda harsh. But honestly, I think the change was necessary.
Because these watchposts has attack values, dealing with them will almost always put you behind on tempo and the effect is disruptive enough that it basically shuts down decks according to watchposts and archetype, like how control warlock has a 0 percent chance of countering a Far Watch Post without any minions. It's not entirely true that these can be ignored either; it puts some decks on a great disadvantage. Control decks are often one mana away from wiping the board, hence why Cult Neophyte continues to see play.
That said, I still think team5 has pre-empted the nerf on Mor'shan Watch Post, because in my opinion only far watch post should be nerfed.
I think its still playable, but perhaps only in dhunters and rogue decks, as these are perhaps the only classes that can easily deal with tempo and keep those posts running as long as possible.
@Neoguli, yeah, but I don't want to play it in a meta when everyone else is playing lunacy mage. It feels like I'm purposely handicapping myself.
Also everyone in the meta is actively hard countering mage, and without lunacy, no minion mage loses the high roll potential to win an unfavored matchup (like vs poison rogue).
So this is why I prefer that the card gets deleted (hopefully, 4 mana is enough but I'm doubtful).
Shadow Conjuerer can clone anything for yourself, but your opponent gets a copy of it too!
Fair Student Cincaria is intended to replace Star Student Stelina, because that card is not very good. She is not the best at keeping your hand safe as well, but maybe it can work in your favor by helping to trigger your outcast effects or removing a card that your opponent recently drew. Maybe this could be a warlock card as well.
Lunacy being nerfed to 4 mana at least keeps absurd highroll scenarios off the table like Lunacy on 2, Arcane Intellect on 3, Spring Water on 4. I think sanding down that edge will make a big difference. And if you pull Lunacy off an early Runed Orb then you can't use it on the next turn.
I have an idea of what kind of effect i want to do, but im not decided on the character. What do you think? I think i like Eagle Eyes the most, Pepe is here just for the LOLz, dont take it seriously :D
I have 3 mana, I play the Coin followed by Scabbs Cutterbutter and his combo is activated. I play Sparkjoy Cheat for free, which casts a secret from my hand, then all my other cards go back to their normal cost. The secret cast by the Sparkjoy counted as a discounted card from Scabbs and I was unable to play another card. That has to be a bug, right?
They are still alright as niche, but they shouldn't be auto includes in top tier decks. They are neutral and restrictive. And the taunt is there, look harder, nobody leaves them up.
A personal opinion of mine, but I dont thinm the Lunacy nerf matters, since the problem is the pool of spells
I have been playing some of spell mage recently, and I rarely ever play it on turn 2 or even for 2 mana. The deck just cheapens itself out and generates so much value, that Lunacy was rarely a play which would cost me tempo.
Watchposts are a fair nerf, but I dont think it'll make them less frequent or a lot weaker, they'll still be strong, which I guess it means it was a good nerf?
Wait how was "rally the troops" ever considered balanced? Doubling Battlecries is already pretty good, casting what would likely be a 5 Mana spell instead seems way better. Now it just casts Far Sight, which should make it good but not ridiculously OP.
Yeah, that's kind of the whole point of them. That's exactly the tradeoff for "Can't attack," and it's not unfair. It's just something people aren't used to, so they are acting like a bunch of babies.
This nerf is going to make them unplayable.
The tradeoff for can't attack is the punishment for your opponent playing or drawing cards. No need to overstat the card, it already basically has taunt
The spellshield update is the best out of these, I had gotten used to it but seeing this version I'm reminded of how weird it looks. Also, the fact that they're giving sharpsight a visual indication might imply that they're going to make "can block elusives" a keyword!

The flinger nerf is a big hit to paladin though.
Unlike the other flinger decks, pally doesn't have anything that hit face outside of minions. This loss of reach will be very noticeable.

New Mage Spell - Deck of Lunacy

Pretty happy with everything but where's the Pen Flinger voice line change nerf? lol

Reading your comment, I was initially like, "eh... we'll see." But then I got to the end, and I'm now fully on board with your analysis.

Those look like positive changes. I never thought Spellshield was bad, but this looks better.

At what time will the patch go up?

First two ideas im puttiing forward:

Hearthstone Grandmasters 2021 Season 1 - Week 1 Results, Decklists, and More! (Spoiler Free)
What a big scam this whole youtube drop thing is.
Everywhere people mentioning not getting their packs for watching the 2 / 4 hours (including me), it's been waaaay more than 48 hours.
I don't get it, why even do a promotion like this if your system is obviously not working?

Deck of Lunacy will still see play, though perhaps not as heavily as before. Refreshing Spring Water going untouched was the biggest surprise of all.

PSA: Scabs Cutterbutter BUG

The secret cast by the Sparkjoy counted as a discounted card from Scabbs and I was unable to play another card. That has to be a bug, right?
And fear not loyal readers, I still won the game!

First card I'm putting forward.
The beauty of this comp is that when you analyze what you're supposed to do, then it's actually not as restricting as it might seem on first glance.

Then they should actually have Taunt, because as I said, they are no longer playable in this state.

Interesting, i dont like the permanent overwrite of opponnent's hero power without a possible counter-play. But could make for some interesting games
