  • Forged in the Barrens Launch Survival Guide - Everything You Need to Know & Day 1 Decks to Try

Expansion drops 10 central, about noon on mobile, correct? The family knows I'm opening packs after work, so they're gonna stay out of my way. I've also had the girls praying for a good pack opening. They say they did, but I don't quite belive them.

Edit: I saw the time. Calculating now.

  • Hecklefang Hyena

We have minions with a 2/3 stats that have positive effects, why would we want a negative effect for only +1 hp, this is the worst card of the set for me.

  • Cannot login on Hearthstone Deck Tracker plugin

I'm trying to test the new plugin for the HDT but it doesn't let me open the settings to login. When I click on settings, nothing happens. Just as a comparison, the button for the Data Reaper plugin works just fine.

Just in case anyone is interested in looking at it.

Self Mill Warlock seemed really good to me just reading Neeru’s text, because it says the portal fills the board “each turn”.  I took this to mean the same as “every turn” similar to Gruul or Kel’thuzad.  If that was the case the six 3/2s summoned at the end of your opponent’s turn could attack at the start of your turn.  But watching theorycrafting streams looked like it’s just at the end of your turns.  So it’s nowhere near as strong as I first thought, and may in fact be too slow depending on the meta.  But we’ll see.

First idea that came to mind.

Strange idea: what about running Neeru Fireblade in Zoolock? Discarding a bunch of Hand of Gul'dans would thin your deck pretty heavily.

EDIT: I just realised Expired Merchant rotated. Disregard this idea then.

  • 7 Budget Theorycraft Decks to Play on Day 1 - Forged in the Barrens

So cool that all of your day one decks are legendary free. If I open one or some i can easily integrate them, but also other people don't have to!
Thank you sule, doing a great job as always! <3

  • is there an easy way to find the cards im missing?

I've seen one steamer tried to complete GvG achiv. He saw in achiv screen that he missed 1 epic and 1 leg, while in collection he missed more than 1 of each and had to craft things randomly. So may be it was tracked back than.

  • Question about core cards

I personally recommend against disenchanting any classic cards purely coz it roadblocks you from playing certain play modes like classic/wild/duels/tavern brawl/future game modes. Also remember that tavern brawls will reward a Year of the Phoenix pack so obtaining free classic packs will be non-existent now.

If you're super tight on dust, another recommendation is looking at HSReplay or here on OoC to see the best performing classic cards and keep those while disenchanting the rest.

Very interesting and exciting decks listed here. I think with the core set being free going forward, it will be alot easier to create efficient budget decks. Exciting times! 🥳

  • Legends of Runeterra Will Only Have 10 Regions, Balance, Patches, Dev, & More - Riot Dovagedys Dev Interview Recap

It does seem like, with a wealth of information about what decks are seeing play, etc., they should have a better definition than just "the community says it's perfect." But there's something to be said for saying that the meta is only perfect if the fans are happy with it.

  • Token Druid

People are grossly underestimating Guff Runetotem.

  • Token Druid

I think this deck (or similar) will wreak havoc in first days of expansion

  • Forged in the Barrens Launch Survival Guide - Everything You Need to Know & Day 1 Decks to Try

I don't believe Self-Mill Warlock is gonna work, but if anyone considers trying it out, I would suggest adding Envoy Rustwix. It would be great to shuffle Primes into your deck after Neeru Fireblade, delay some fatigue damage and get Primes. There is a chance of Envoy Rustwix getting milled, but that's not your win condition anyway.

  • Theorycraft Mill

4 new legendaries.. will be difficult to test this deck on early days, as it needs heavy investment.. Maybe propose some replacements for each one?

  • Heads Up, Your Daily and Weekly Quests Will Not Be Reset Once The New Rewards Track Arrives

I completed enough quests last night to get me to 10,000 gold. 100 free packs on launch day! (But I accidentally completed 5 Ranked Wins with that last game, so I’m actually close to 102.)

  • Heads Up, Your Daily and Weekly Quests Will Not Be Reset Once The New Rewards Track Arrives

Just stopped playing now. Got Turn 1 Yeti and 250 wins with priest in the meantime (longtime player, but long time casual mode player... just started playing ranked again with the new system, still 150 wins away from my first 500 wins hero) It is hard playing without completing some of this quests... Draw Cards and use your hero power are some of the worst to evade. Left them at 1 remaining

  • Heads Up, Your Daily and Weekly Quests Will Not Be Reset Once The New Rewards Track Arrives

yea, I'm saving 3 daily and 3 weekly too, I hope that the 4th slot works and we wont lose any quests during launch.

  • Question about core cards

    Thanks.

  • Even More Top Secret - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Hey all! About time for a return to this comp now that I'm no longer a student bogged down with essays :)

Here's my idea for the week:

What do you all think? I wanted to toy around with Rogue's spider theme that sometimes pops up. The card has the potential to summon quite a few 4/4s, but even 2-3 is usually quite good. Does that much variability justify it being Legendary?

Also, here's some feedback for everyone who's posted so far (individual spoilers within this big one)

Pendulum Blade: It pushes Control Hunter, which I will never say no to! It’s an objectively good card that I’m struggling to find fault with. The only thing I’d suggest is to change the name to “Pendulum Trap” but it honestly doesn’t matter all that much :P

Tricks of the Trade: The card is flavourful, for sure, but is somewhat underwhelming for a Legendary. Heistbaron Togwaggle was worth playing because you could Discover which Treasure you wanted (Wondrous Wand 99% of the time). Most of the time, even as a Rogue, I wouldn’t necessarily want to play Tolin’s Goblet or Golden Kobold.

How the Turntables: This Secret is incredibly dangerous. I can see Blizzard publishing something like this, but simply ending your opponent’s turn is incredibly un-interactive. Furthermore, you’re not really ending an opponent’s turn, but giving yourself two turns with a slight interruption, which shouldn’t be this easy to do. If you do want to use it, the one thing I’d definitely change is “his turn” to “their turn”, as we don’t want to assume a player’s gender/sex.

Righteous Fury: Aside from the changes you yourself have pointed out, I think this is a great Secret. It gives you a powerful weapon (especially if it triggers in the early game) and is full of flavour. One question: three minions over several turns, or three minions in a single turn?

Power Invites Challenge: A crazy Secret that definitely deserves a place in Hunter. If you manage to get it off early then oooh-weee is your opponent in for a bad time. One point: +2/+2 may be a bit much, especially in an aggro-oriented class. Perhaps +1/+2 or just +2 Attack would be more balanced?

Cauterize: The art is amazing, you’re right. I love the concept but I’m struggling to see it be worth a Legendary. On many turns you’re unlikely to take any damage, or very little damage. Whilst this is a great comeback card in certain situations, I think Mages would be hard-pressed to justify including it in their decks. On the plus side, it forces the player to think about when they want to play it, which I absolutely encourage more of in Hearthstone.

A Champion Arises: FLAVOUR! Also… AMAZING ART! It’s a good card with a fun affect. I concur with others that 10 Health is too low for this to activate, feel free to increase the threshold to 15 or even 20 since Paladin has so much Healing capability.

Reckoning of Drunhei: I really like the Nordic/Gothic feel of this card, and the fact that it’s actually relatively balanced. Sure, you get an essentially indestructible minion, but if your opponent was already in lethal range they’re likely to be able to take you out next turn. Overall, it feels like a much more interesting Ice Block for Hunters. Great job!
