  • New Hunter Minion - Sunscale Raptor

Would be good in wild with the quest!

  • New Neutral Minion - Peon

Wonder if this would help a token deck?

  • New Shaman Minion - Bru'kan

This wholly depends on what Nature spells we get.

Correct. It would be really messy to change the dates for a giveaway, in fact, I don't think you legally can. Not that its super serious, but if we did I'm sure someone could try to mess with us.

My goal is to get the packs into everyone's hands before the pre-release event happens.

Yeah, it reminds me of all the WoW killers back in the day. Yeah, I love to play games that focus on their first few hours and then have zero content!!!

Artifact was just too different. Maybe Richard Garfield was smoking some real funky stuff. I bought it on release, played it for 46 minutes and never went back in. I got an Axe in one of my packs though and flipped it on the market to pay for my game so that was kinda cool.

It's already up to 600 active people compared to the usual 60!

The Hearthstone killer has been dead for quite some time. It technically still exists and functions but without updates it's literally undead now. Alive but not really.

Ironically, the game will probably be played a lot more now that it's free.

Well, here goes another "Hearthstone Killer"

Is this ending on the 18th regardless of whether the final card reveal happens by then?

I dunno, I don't think I've met the same deck twice since the expansion started. How can you be sure people are copy-pasting lists when you only see half their deck? People can have similar ideas to other people - it doesn't mean they copy pasted from the internet.

And incidentally, you'd only know they were copy pasting from the internet if you yourself are spending a lot of time looking at internet lists yourself.

I mean I watched Swim's deck idea video and I take this kind of video as a "not to build" guide since I am not going to be one of them However it is fair to say that players can come indeed come up similar decks themselves

3x blighted ravine and 3x avalanche is usually enough to stop aggro in its tracks. If you're losing to bigger bodies than that, you might be struggling vs midrange. If aggro is still too much, you can add even more wide removal, or do as I do and add 3x vile feast as well.

Vs midrange, you've got two choices-- make your engine faster, or be better at stalling them. That's part of why the example deck above runs 3x spectral matron and sooo much ramp. Once you hit turn 8, you can simultaneously stall and get your engine going by Matron-matron or matron-Trundle-Ice pillar combos.

As for stalling midrange, that's pretty hard with the new cards. Azir has a lot of health and is cheap, a lot of the overwhelm cards have spellshields, etc.etc. I'm finding vengeance is bad atm, so cut it. Instead, you can do as this deck did and add fading memories (makes your win even faster-- pillar, fading memories, pillar, spectral matron), or you can do what I did and add more bodies (babbling bjerg for better matron-matron, another tavernkeeper, or draklorn inquisitors).

    Now what could that mean?

New core set cards are not collectible. I looked only on collectible cards (To exclude tokens and cards from other game modes.). In another case, I would immediately give the correct answer after Leper Gnome. (:

Where is Taric Elites in here? Like... I ruined many plays the day by attacking 3+ times in the same round and given how easy it is to go with Golden Aegis

By the way? Am I the only one who finds it lame that on day 1 of the expansion already about 60-70% of decks are copy-paste list from the internet? Like why would you ruin the experimentation phase like this? To win some normal game that do not matter for your rank at all?

How about flipping the whole effect around and making the grunt be a 2 mana 2/2 with an effect like: "Has +2 health if you have less than 5 mana"? That way it is overstatted in the early game but you pay the price of it being weak in the mid-late game.

Note that losing a buff in Hearthstone doesn't reduce your health unless you were above your base health. E.g. if he has 3 or 4 health at the start of turn 5 he'll go down to 2, but he won't lose any health if he's only got 1 or 2 left.

It's a slight departure from the intended upgrade mechanic, but perhaps it is an interesting twist on it nonetheless.

An early-game minion should taper off naturally as more powerful cards get to be played. If it's got a built-in 'only play this before this time' ability, I dunno, I personally feel the result is an even less interesting card, and we may wonder why other good cards don't need to be sectioned off into a designated time-slot.

Ultimately, I think it's okay to have a valuable textless minion. In my view, it does not follow that other minions must have their stats raised to keep up with it. I would also like to point out that there is precedent for a class card being a 'same-with-better-stats' version of a neutral card. See Spymistress, Worgen Infiltrator.

Iksar's list of tough to balance classes:

    • Hunter can't heal or clear the board so you can't make use of it.
    • Druid ramp is a core mechanic but it can feel helpless to play against.
    • Warlock's sheer power of Life Tap can make them 1 medium-power Neutral drop away from domination.

    1. Hunters can't heal or clear boards. And incidentally they can't draw cards neither. Now that most of the aggro cards from hunter will be purged from standard, its really time for hunter to actually be able to draw/generate cards. Then we'll start seeing some variety.

I also don't understand what's so difficult for them to just make a few conditional healing options for hunter, like maybe 2 mana 1/2 stealth beast that heals face for 1 at the end of the turn. Hell, you can make that heal for 2 and it still wouldn't be oppressive.

    2. Make ramp conditional, like Breath of Dreams or Greedy Sprite instead of Overgrowth, which incidentally is more oppressive than Wild Growth on 2. And we have another year before overgrowth rotates. I can't remember any other time in history druid ramp being more polarizing than the one we're seeing now, and overgrowth has got to be that culprit.

    3. Maybe this is just me, but I don't find life tap at all oppressive that it restricts card design. Draw 1 for 2 health. Warlock tends to have better draw cards than other classes, and since Mountain Giant is gone, where does this 'domination' come along? Touching on that point, what other card can possible top mountain giant on 4 as that dominating medium-powered neutral drop anyway? and we've been dealing with that for 6 years. I don't particularly remember warlock being on tier 1 every meta mountain giant was in standard.

  • New Warlock Minion - Void Terror

Spider Tank's mech tag may synergize with certain archetypes in a way that makes it relevant despite being (mostly) outclassed by updated class cards like Warhorse Trainer and Void Terror.

  • Barrens Ritual of Doom Zoo

I'm not sure how good Mankrik is in this deck. Also feel like you are forcing too hard to meet the Ritual of Doom condition with cards like Fiendish Circle and Necromancer. With the natural zoolock gameplay you can already do the ritual consistently. Just my 2 cents :) I also made my own version of zoolock for Barrens, feel free to hop in and critique :)

I feel like the majority of players who do not even reach diamond 5 have too much of a influence on balance.

It might do to put in a few examples, because I can't remember a balancing decision made that actively disregard high legend players' opinions whilst being cheered on by this particular segment of players.

There will always be disagreements on balance changes. But I think we can agree that team5 does not make balancing decisions because they're being egged on by one particular segment of people. Certainly if they had more than half a cockroach's brains worth in their head, they would know that relying on reddit for opinions on balancing would be like taking hair styling tips from patients in a cancer ward.
