  • New Shurima Card - Desert Naturalist

    Quote From minuano28

A landmark removal that also give you a body, looks solid to me.

2/4 for 4 is not that impressive. However she still resembles the best landmark removal we have seen so far because she actually works for the deck she is played in, unlike the majority of landmark removals that just suck when you have to use them in non landmark matchups

  • New Shurima Champion - Taliyah

Summoning 5 landsmarks is easy with shurima adding landmarks with countdown (kinda delayed spells) also it actually asks you to summon 4 landmarks since taliah spawns 1 of them on etb. Her leveled up ability is strong and so far we only have to se if her attack ability also procs when she has no blockers.

I think her archetype will struggle versus aggro but let control have a hard time.? Let's see if she works out

  • FitB launch?

    Quote From Grumpy000

it's possible to buy the bundle til march 22nd. This gave my assumption about the launch ...

    Ah, good catch!

Normally I would agree that that is good evidence that it will release on the 22nd of March, but since nothing is very normal at the moment I am conscious that it might just be a placeholder date. Even so, it probably indicates when they want to release it, and the question is whether it will be ready for that date.

While you are right that STS is not unique in the aspects it shares with (what we know about) Mercenaries, that doesn't stop it being the/a primary influence. Being an influence doesn't require you to have actually invented the game mechanics, it just requires you to be the trigger for ideas.

Compare it to music: musicians can be inspired by music from the last decade, but that music is unlikely to be especially original in its construction. Nevertheless, you would credit them as inspirations because that is what put the ideas in your head. Expressing it the other way around: it would be ridiculous to credit the Beatles as inspiration for a pop/rock song if you've never actually listened to them.

  • The Landmark Payoff We All Deserve

Noxus be like : "Can we at least get one decent landmark? "

  • New Shurima Champion - Taliyah

one landmark is good. Two is a waste. No use for this champion

  • Rewards Track: Current progress

Level 300 (just 50 more to go)

14085 gold (only 2500 left to collect)

When exactly is the release date of Forged in the Barrens?

  • New Shurima Card - Desert Naturalist

A landmark removal that also give you a body, looks solid to me.

  • Lord Jaraxxus Will Celebrate a Comeback in Hearthstone's New Core Set as a Proper Hero Card

That would make him a better card, yes, but it would also make him a different card. The fantasy of playing Jaraxxus involves risk. You can put out game-winning pressure... but if you can't keep it consistently, you die.

If they're going to remove the health limitation (or at the least not even reference it in a new ability) they might as well rename him.

  • New Shurima Spell - Ancient Hourglass

Yay we finally got Zhonyas... and it's really good but not op by any means

  • New Shurima Spell - Shaped Stone

Its elixir of wrath with+1 on health so it's worth 2 mana (given Sharpened Resolve is 3 mana) it makes Radiant Strike cry in a corner but I don't see this card being op tbh...

  • New Neutral Minion - Overlord Runthak

    Pro

Yo, this guy looks great! Also, I love that handbuff is now in the core set, and neutral too!

  • Hearthstone Mercenaries Interview Recap - More Information on Hearthstone's Upcoming Roguelike

OMG wow if it's like Darkest Dungeon it could be REALLY good! In that case I hope they make it fully awesome and worth paying full game price for. The thing that's unique about DD is the positioning requirements. Characters can only use certain abilities in certain slots. I'm not sure how they would replicate that or put in something unique of their own. Thinking of DD helps me visualize it a bit more. You'll battle random mobs until you get to the boss. Pick up loot along the way. Level your guy up back home. Oh DD does also have resource management. You have finite coin to spend on torches, food, and other stuff. And stress of course.

So Mercenaries needs something unique of its own. DD requires you to manage positioning, resources and stress. StS requires you to build and manage a deck. I wonder what Mercenaries could do that's unique within what I assume will be the familiar interface.

It needs to have enough tension and tough decision making. In StS you feel good about making the right decisions in how you built your deck. In DD you feel good about how you built your squad to complement each other and deal with enemy abilities at different locations and how you managed all the tight resources.

  • New Shurima Spell - Shaped Stone

Am I the only who that this cards is nuts? I mean sure not every deck is going to be able to use it due to it's landmark requirement but for those who do, this is even better than pre-nerf cascade.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    Pro

It's not Kathrena and after having read the wiki I'm not sure if it's a cryptogram to be honest. :D

Hint: It's a card name and the number of letters in both words has not been changed. I would appreciate it if you would try to break the code instead of brute force guessing cards that have a matching number of letters though.

  • New Shurima Spell - Ancient Hourglass

It's less a 2 mana deny and more of a glimpse beyond that re-summon you unit instead of drawing you 2 cards. Other than that I agree with everything you said.

  • New Shurima Spell - Ancient Hourglass

How is this not OP? It’s like a 2 Mana Deny against removals with a downside. Shurima decks can now just never tap below 2 Mana and perpetually threaten to deny a removal. The downside is that this card doesn’t let you use the ally that round, but being able to always keep it as an option for 2 mana makes it way more powerful

Well, better get used to them because they will appear in all 3 expansions this year :)

Atleast accoarding to this dev interview.

  • BlizzConline's Hearthstone Year of the Gryphon Deep Dive Panel Live Recap - More New Cards

Yeah you’re right the initial response was very negative especially as compared to the response the person on wild reddit got to posting the same observation so that was a bit shocking, but over time it turned out there were more positive people in the community.

  • Lord Jaraxxus Will Celebrate a Comeback in Hearthstone's New Core Set as a Proper Hero Card

Even if they remove the health cap or just make him a regular +5 armor hero card, this won't be enough to make him competitive imo. He will become playable which is a very good thing but competing is a completely different story. Late game Warlock strategies are suffering a lot nowadays because of the constant self-damage from the hero power and all the burn and aggro power creep. It's really hard to survive to play such late game cards. Simply getting a weapon and a new hero power isn't enough to help you stabilize against all the burn being thrown at your face constantly. They need to re-evaluate the state of the class as a whole imo. A change to the base hero power, better healing cards or something else. But something needs to be done in order to help Warlock actually live long enough to play Lord J.

  • Hearthstone Mercenaries Interview Recap - More Information on Hearthstone's Upcoming Roguelike

User here, FortyDust  - mentioned that Mercenaries is more like Darkest Dungeon, and I agree with that.

DD is a roguelike game, you have a team of 3 heroes, going through procedurally generated dungeons, you can choose your path to some degree...

And then, each of those 3 heroes have few unique abilities. Combat is tactical, positioning is really important in DD.

DD also had "no combat" events. Lastly, DD doesn't have any deck building part whatsoever.

Basically sounds like Mercenaries to me :D

  • Lord Jaraxxus Will Celebrate a Comeback in Hearthstone's New Core Set as a Proper Hero Card

As long as Jaraxxus still has a maniacal laugh when he attacks I'm cool with it

Sounds a lot like the quest table in draenor to me. Collect units to send them out on missions and those units level up.
