I don't know why Slay the Spire keeps getting mentioned. Any similarity is extremely superficial. Slay the Spire is a deckbuilding game at its core, and they've just confirmed that there's no deckbuilding in Mercenaries.
Slay the Spire can't really claim credit for maps with branching paths and procedurally generated encounters. As one example, Darkest Dungeon had both of those things three years before Slay the Spire came out.
In fact, now that I think about it, the gameplay of Mercenaries sounds a lot more like Darkest Dungeon than STS.
Yup, you'll get get Core Set cards through leveling up. Level 1-10 of a class will give you class specific cards, while all other levels after that will give you neutrals.
I feel ya, friend. I thought Iksar had hinted we'd get some breathing room between hero card releases.
But as a Core card, maybe Jaraxxus won't be quite as strong as expansion heroes and won't see much play. (Or will definitely see a ton of play due to nostalgia but won't be oppressive?)
With the Classic Set joining the Legacy Set in Wild, all Classic cards and their Golden versions will now be craftable and disenchantable. Basic cards and their Golden versions will be granted to all players that have Wild unlocked for free at rotation, as will the normal versions of Demon Hunter Initiate cards (Golden Demon Hunter Initiate cards will still be craftable and disenchantable).
So it sounds like there's no need to rush to 60 for Basic cards, since we'll be given all the golden ones we're lacking anyway.
As for Core set cards:
Like the Basic Set, you’ll earn Core Set cards by leveling up each class. All Core Set class cards are rewarded between levels 1-10 for each class, and Neutral Core Set cards will unlock based the sum of all your class levels combined, up to the combined level of 60. Golden versions of Core Set cards can be unlocked by completing Achievements associated with winning games as each class.
So again there's no need to rush to 60 with DH, since only a combined level of 60 matters. Golden versions will be earned via achievements, not class levels.
Finally, I don't think we know much about when the next rotations happens. It sounded like the Barrens set will be out whenever it is ready, which could be anywhere from mid March to late April for all I know.
Lol I'm still not use to the new acronym -- I saw this threat title and thought it might have something to do with the launch of a new Fitbit-integration feature. :-P
Will basic cards unlocked by level-up change? I'm asking, because I would like to know if I should rush leveling DH to 60 before next rotation. What's estimated date of next rotation?
Hehe, I'm probably a bit obsessed with numbers 😅 Yeah, I won't worry too much, I just thought that feedback about simulator might be useful to you. It's still fun when I'm pack-hungry. Thanks for the reply!
I wouldn't be surprised if they'd redesign (or at least rearrange) some aspects of the UI with the launch of Mercenaries, though I don't think that they'd change a whole lot. Most likely I'd say would be a change to the icon size in the modes menu, and the layout (maybe 2 by 2?) with Mercs simply being added to it.
Solo Adventures should stay where it is, since, well, it has a lot of content to offer. Tavern Brawl on the other hand, I kinda agree that it could be moved from the "main page" into modes maybe. But the question then would be: What could replace it?
The Landmark Payoff We All Deserve
Last time I had said that these landmarks would be really average if they only went off once

FitB launch?
I don't think we've heard any more about the release date since this Q&A: https://outof.cards/hearthstone/2600-dean-ayalas-community-qa-4-classic-set-rework-teaser-craftable-heroes-possible-march-expansion-2v2-rewards-track. Based on that, (late) March is possible but don't be surprised if it is released in April instead.
There's a similar lack of certainty about when card reveals will start, but we should be hearing about Core set cards this week at least.

Taliyah Champion Reveal and More Shurima Cards for Runeterra's Empires of the Ascended Expansion
Promising Future got much more interesting. With Stasis Statue, you can summon up to two strong units. Maybe with The Rekindler?
Ancient Hourglass itself looks like an alternative to Glimpse Beyond, with the upside to make the target immune to cards like The Ruination.
Lord Jaraxxus Will Celebrate a Comeback in Hearthstone's New Core Set as a Proper Hero Card

Looking forward to the return of Lemonade this summer (fingers crossed)!
Forged in the Barrens
Sunscale Raptor and Razormane Raider have different stats in the video. Which is correct?

New Neutral Minion - Deathwing the Destroyer
Nice improvement over the OG, but still not a card you're likely to put in your deck on purpose. Generated by some other card, though...

Well, this one came out of nowhere.
[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)
This is probably wrong, but I'm going to guess Kathrena Winterwisp because it's the correct number of letters.
