Anybody else a little disturbed by this card? What a real kick when life is already down, guess you can remember this card as being how depressive these last bunch of months have been.
If I designed this card, it would be randomly what it does now or summoned a 2/3 or restored 5 health to your hero in condition the wife is alive.
Holy freaking crap, thanks for the extra sadness Bliz!
It's a very curious direction I wouldn't have thought of. ;) And hey, any deck that finds a place for poor not appreciated Professor Slate and Vereesa Windrunner does stand out.
The Undying I'm not removing just yet. As a beginner I play against other beginners and they often don't read the cards well. Surely in my first games they kept killing it... ;) It seems to be a sort of beginners trap. But the last few games the opponents seems to get smarter so I probably have to remove it soon because I agree that it isn't a very good card.
I got one copy of They Who Endure and I tried it too. But the games I played it, it was at maximum a 7-7 Overwhelm for 7. A worse Alpha Wildclaw. Maybe I was just unlucky, I'll try it again. I can see a lot of potential in a token deck for sure. In 2 days I got a free deck in my login rewards, I'll try not to craft anything just yet, maybe they're in that deck.
I'll agree Avarosan Marksman (only good for a needed ping sometimes) and Take Heart (most times a dead card, sometimes very good with Braum) are not that good and I have to replace them. Revitalizing Roar I just added, never drew it, but it's probably bad too.
That's Coilfang Warlord with a condition, DH already has this OP card but plays aggro. Being a druid card make it more consistent, especially a beast who can be summoned by Guardian Animals or copied with Shan'do Wildclaw. I bet this year druid will receive a lot of beast synergy since they already announced Menagerie Warden would be in the classic set for the year of the griffin.
This can't be summoned by Guardian Animals, which only summons beasts that cost 5 or less.

Nice one, thanks for the write up! Any chance Hunter gets the Night Elf? Sometimes I wish that class was on the evil side just for some more bad assery.
I can't contribute much, but maybe we can go a little deeper in detail. I think it is the Warlock mercenary that creates something like a portal in the cinematic, with a big entity looking out of it. Summoning Demons again would be a bit boring so shortly after Willow, so what could she be doing instead? You say she's a Forsaken, so do you think Resurrect Warlock could be a thing?
Re night elf hunter: that was my first thought as I normally picture n'elfs as druids and hunters. That remains perfectly possible, though it does seem less likely to me, mostly because the parallels with the WoW Classic cinematic are so strong. The dwarf hunter in the snow with his bear and rifle was the first character we saw in that cinematic, and perhaps the least likely to change as a result.
As for hunter being on the evil side, does that mean you consider n'elfs to be evil? It's presumably not a wider horde=good, alliance=bad mentality else dwarf would count as evil too.

Re the warlock summoning demons: sadly I think that class is doomed to forever take the boring approach of summoning demons whenever there's a cycle of cards/themes that allows it. Galakrond, the Wretched? Summons imps. Rafaam's Scheme? Summons imps. Even in the Boomsday Project when warlock was originally going to be mathematicians, we got boring old demonology instead. In the Barrens we already know warlock has suffered the same fate because what does Imp Swarm (Rank 1) do? It summons imps of course.
Looking at the forsaken in a broader context, I would not draw much of a link between them and resurrection. Yes they were resurrected themselves, but they don't do any resurrecting of their own unless they happen to be a class that resurrects normally (at which point the class matters, not the race). That assessment fits with the distribution of forsaken art/characters and resurrection in HS: for the most part they have nothing to do with each other, but Catrina Muerte does happen to be at the overlap.
There is a bit more hope that a forsaken character drives a deathrattle theme in warlock, but that association is a bit tenuous too as there's a whole lot of forsaken minions that don't have deathrattle.
Definitely a juicy card, but I doubt it will be popular past its first week. In general, despite the apparent versatility, it's just too situational.
It's too unreliable against enemy minions, and Control decks have better options most of the time, while Aggro simply cannot afford a (5) 3/6 tech card.
Big Recruit decks are also better off without him for best consistency of summon from deck.
Either way, I'm trying it in Big Demon Hunter (with Felscreamer, Priestess of Fury and Overfiend as backup Midrange plan + big Naga and Colossus) and it's a nice card there, definitely a buff to the deck. It's just that the deck itself is still quite limited I think.

I'm honestly already dreaming of a world where I can use Malygos the Spellweaver in a Wild spell burst Shaman deck. Frizz Kindleroost to reduce the cost of Malygos, maybe Emperor Thaurissan for more cost reduction... But basically you want to play Malygos for cheap, pull a bunch of spells like Lightning Bloom, Lightning Bolt, Crackle and maybe some other cheap face damage spells. If you are running Emperor you might also have some other spell damage minions and/or spells in hand with reduced cost, increase your damage output... Who knows!
There really is no complete list yet. Blizzard has held back, though they said look for more reveals post Blizzcon.
I know some of the revealed cards are Shadowform for Priest. Along with A buffed Earth Elemental, Lightning Storm and Feral Spirit for Shaman. Most of those getting a -1 to their overload which they showed off at Blizzcon.
It's going to be a big reveal season with both Core and the Barrens set overlapping.

Well put. The old one is so detailed with a crisp color palette, I'm not surprised the comparisons aren't too favorable for the new Vol'jin.
What to play? Runeterra, Magic, Mythgard or another CCG

Only 80k for the new cinematic trailer vs 2 million for Darkmoon? Did the Rewards Track fiasco scare that much hype away?

I’m sorry no one asked them to confirm the miniexpansion, I really liked how they priced and made the Madness one.

New Hunter Minion - Sunscale Raptor
What does “permanent +2/+1” mean? If I play a second-generation (3/4) Sunscale Raptor, does it stay 3/4 after it’s silenced or returned to hand?
