Is there a world where this whole set of cards is enough to make Confront worth playing? It is still a 3 mana spell that does very little but when you want Jarvan IV to challenge things this badly it might be worth while.
I don't think that you can interrupt the rally by killing the target, for that it has to say "give an ally barrier this round to rally", like how Homecoming say "recall an ally to recall enemy".
Yeah a lot of people believe that Jarvan was killed or captured in secret and LeBlanc took up the role of pretending to be him so that she could steer Demacia to ruin.
Likely due to two reasons. One, we mat be seeing more spells that can go face soon for Shaman. Two, they gave us Zekhan posing a generic troll. With this 1 drop and the removal of the Air totem I am expecting more spell damage in general for Shaman in the future. We’ve already seen Bru’kan. While Bruh’s spell damage is specific to Nature spells, that’s like 90% of Shaman’s spells, maybe more, so most likely always useful.
I think the way it is worded it loses it's ability after it got it's first barrier. While that doesn't change the fact that this card is really good it doesn't let you create a pseudo Braum by granting this dude challenger

Its hard to believe that this card sees serious play outside of expeditions
Edit: I actually overlooked the ability to combine this card with Taric allowing you to attack 2 additional times... so reevaluated i'd say this card is meh outside of taric but insane in taric decks

Like... it is a single combat at slow speed that triggers attack abilities such like cythria, Miss Fortune, Quinn and while the wording is unclear I think this actually lets you attack with other units aswell...
We still don't know how many turn it will take to get the level 3 ascendants, and from the wording I assume Jarvan will level up in deck which mean he will probably be level 2 by the time you play him. And came to think of it, an ascendant Renekton on level 6 is going impossible match up for any champion, not only does his effect activates on attack and block but since he only cost 4 your probably going to have enough mana to cast quicksand.
Yeah this card is weak to an insane degree. If it did something like also gave the unit Challenger this round it might be somewhat playable, but slow speed buffs and 1-cost buffs are both inherently bad, so this card being both dooms it to unplayability.
I find the art quality between old and new Vol'jin night and day. The old art has amazing contrast. On the new one, he seems like a generic troll, shooting generic purple magic.
