Wild player here, FWIW this discussion has highlighted a deck that I wasn’t even aware of. I was 100% pleased that Air Totem was getting removed because the Shaman decks that I play don’t focus on burn and I couldn’t see how a regular burn deck would care to have only 25% chance of getting the desired totem. Now my sentiment is changed somewhat - Odd Shaman looks like an interesting deck which won’t work without the Air Totem and that’s a pity. It makes me want to try before it goes away.
I think that the community here has become a little trigger-happy with the downvote button. There is little room for nuance - if you are only 95% aligned in opinion, you get downvoted. It wasn’t always like that but I guess it is to be expected as OoC becomes more popular.
Really hard card to judge right now. But it will probably see play in spell damage shaman? turn 4 Bru'kan into turn 5 Ras Frostwhisper seems realy good, as long as Ras Frostwhisper and Bru'kan actually synergise together. Now that i think about it, how will Ras Frostwhisper work after those tribes are introduced? Seems pretty hard to make him good for both shaman and mage. Let's hope they make Ras Frostwhisper work with ANY spell damage, tribal or not. IF they do that then that turn 4 Bru'kan into turn 5 Ras Frostwhisper seems really good.
Standard: Probably spell damage shaman.
Wild: EVEN costed, and EVEN shaman likes totems. So it probably won't see that much play. If only it were ODD Costed, because ODD Shaman would have LOVED it. (ODD Shaman is more of a burn deck with lots of spell damage stuff, for anyone that's wondering.)
Fun card. I've been running it in a big Paladin. Bouncing recruits to land a 10drop is fun. Won me a game or two from bouncing an enemy taunt too. Real fun to play with.
Love these preview legendaries. Always entertaining to play around with during reveal seasons.
I think this is a very strong card. A lot of shaman spells should end up being nature and +3 spell damage so cheap is strong. Be a nice finisher in an aggressive shaman. Or a combo piece for an otk. With spells being retroactively I'm sure he'll be a powerful tool in wild too.
That is definitely a possibility. But some other adjustments could help offset that. I just don't like the idea of having a legendary card that's simply not playable in the class it supposedly belongs to. Their whole idea of forcing any sort of Tempo/Aggro/Buff Priest simply has not paid off so far. All the cards that were released for these archetypes simply see no play and that even includes the cards that replaced the Hall of Fame ones in the classic set. The Tempo cards were buffed but that didn't do anything to improve their viability. Temple Enforcer is good on paper but it requires a target for its buff and Priest just struggles to maintain their board against any of the other Tempo/Aggro classes.
The rotation of two of the class' main draw engines (Northshire Cleric and Acolyte of Pain) also causes serious issues when it comes to maintaining a steady flow of resources. Card generation doesn't help because it's simply too unreliable and Tempo Priest decks require their cards to synergize well with each other. Control Priest can get away with card generation because they have better sustainability and can live long enough to make use of any random resources they generate. But Tempo Priest doesn't have that luxury. They need to win fast against slow decks and they can't afford to lose the board once against any other Aggro/Tempo class. The hand gets clogged too easily with buff spells which are completely useless without anything to buff. Paladins have their 1/1 dudes to buff in case they don't have any other minions. Priest only has a heal that does nothing when you don't need healing and it is too weak for the current level of Aggro power creep in the game.
TL, DR: Tempo Priest is hopeless. Most of its cards are simply not playable and the class can't compete against the other classes in terms of draw consistency.
Nice! Sylvanas was one of two heros I was really hoping for to return. I'd like her for my Deathrattle decks. Same goes for Lazul and the Scrying decks. Fingers crossed we'll be able to pay with gold!
I get why do it, i still wish wouldve replaced searing totem(or reworked into 0/2 that shotos a firebal for 1dmg at enemy (minion).
And now they have 2 earth totems ;1fire and 1water(healing stream) instead of 1 of each.
Aslo healing totem should heal face again like used to back in Beta.
The buffs i like but im still not sure earth elemental will actully be all that good without more elemental/overload synergy but atleast can follow it up with a 4drop now instead of 3drop or a hp + 1drop.
Thanks I'll check it out. I took some idea from the internet at first, not remember where. Missed like 15-20 cards but i added cards which did seem to fit in. Not all were that good so i changed a few times but so far i won all my games in casual mode except one (which I could have won too, but made a stupid mistake at the end).
This is my deck:
Starter deck
A Runeterra Deck created by
tnrg. Last updated 5 years, 7 months ago
Haven't played ranked or other modes yet, my collection is probably too bad to get some wins there. Haven't crafted a single card so far too, just using what I got in my packs.
Interesting note about the spell schools vs classes - I assume these come from WoW. I wonder if they ever do another grouping of classes like in MSoG, they’d use the number of spell schools to rank how ‘magical’ a class is. Mage, Shaman and Warlock with 3 each; Druid and Priest with 2; Paladin and Demon Hunter with 1; Warrior, Hunter and Rogue with none.
I like both these characters. I might not pick one up though as I just bought the New Year stuff (can't say no to Lu Bu).
If I do get one it'll probably be The Thunder King. I liked that character and raid a lot. Plus I got Rexar as my lvl 50 skin so I want to fill out my other characters.
Would it be feasible to add a list of all the pre-existing cards coming to the Core set to this page, with the changes for those which have them? I'm struggling to find a complete list of everything we know about Core anywhere.
About the book of mercenaries... I've noticed that the image for Rokara has a warrior pack in it, so... I supose the book of mercenaries will have purchasable skins just like book of heroes?
Really seems like more of a Warrior or Paladin legendary doesn't it?
Warrior can combo with Inner Rage for a quick Hellfire, Paladin can just buff it and run it into something for variable amounts of damage (Blessing of Might meta pog)
Should at least appear in Libram Pally (since Pure is going away anyways unless they print more support)
Rogue with Nitroboost
Paladin Blessing/Libram
Warrior Inner rage
Any handbuff.
A lot of classes can buff his attack up real easy. He's basically a swipe/hellfire for 2 cards in most classes if he lives. I'm certain he'll see play probably in aggressive and midrange decks that have those early attack buffs to compete in mirior matches.
It's not better than Hush buddy it is only better than Hush right now because Hush shaped the meta into what it is. It will be a staple for shurima decks but overall I think this cards is fine and fair

New Hunter Minion - Sunscale Raptor
1 mana 1/3 beast with an interesting effect.
I think that every Hunter will use them.
New Priest Spell - Desperate Prayer
0 mana spells are good cards by itself, and if the spell is for a class that have Nazmani Bloodweaver... Just really good.
Our Initial Thoughts on The Three New Dragon Aspects Coming to Hearthstone's Core Set in Year of the Gryphon
https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/lo619q/rebalanced_ysera_dream_cards/
Other dream cards are being changed for ysera.
ysera wakens costs 3 isntead of 2 and onyl does dmg to minions instead of all characters.
Nightmare gives +4/+4 instead of +5/+5
Laughing sister cots 2 down fromm 3
Dream is 1mana and can only atrget enemeis
Drake is unchanged.
New Hunter Minion - Sunscale Raptor
The frenzy here just looks like a fun upside. But the card itself is just good. Hunter can always use a tough early beast very effectively.
New Priest Spell - Desperate Prayer
Nice simple spell. Priest can usually generate a lot of spells and this one is just a free reroll usually with things like Lyra.
New Shaman Minion - Bru'kan
I was thinking exactly the same!
New Neutral Minion - Shadow Hunter Vol'jin
Fun card. I've been running it in a big Paladin. Bouncing recruits to land a 10drop is fun. Won me a game or two from bouncing an enemy taunt too. Real fun to play with.

Solid card at every rank, nice 2 for 1 usually and position matters gameplay. Great card all around.
