The best thing about this card is that its a 1 mana 1/3 beast. And that alone makes it worthy of inclusion into most face hunters, let alone a more tempo beast build. The fact that this one can get bigger is not necessarily a good thing, given that most tempo-face hunters go for face and no one wants a 3/4 in the late game when a Kill Command is needed. That said, if you need a good early game beast, this one comes a calling in spades.
Maybe Tol'vir Warden gets included into core. And then this would be legit a threat to trigger its frenzy
With the introduction of Spell types, minions like this essentially become multi-class cards. Could you run a 4 mana 3/6 in any deck? Maybe. Is it only really viable where you can take advantage of the effect? Most likely, yes. So this is essentially a Priest and Paladin card as I'm not sure what other classes would have Holy spells.
This could be nice. Want to get rid of a big taunt? Done. Want to replay a strong battlecry? Done. Just hope you don't pull some 10-mana minion from the enemy's hand on turn 5.
Its a decent card on its own, but the problem is exactly that. Druid typically plays broken cards + ramp for the win, and I'm having difficulty imagining this being part of anything druid would want to do, now that Embiggen and highlander druid will be gone when this releases. There's a slim hope for this that something from the core set can save it (its still a decent rush-to-taunt card) but Im doubtful.
Changing her to only cast targeted spells would be better imo. This would stop her from casting Tip the Scales and would also make her a viable card for Priest. Nobody even gave a thought if this would have any significance for Priest. That's because she is completely unviable for the class in this state. She can only be used in decks that abandon most forms of targeted removal and AoE and Priest simply can't afford to do that. Tempo Priest simply doesn't work. It just runs out of resources way too easily and is too dependent on creating an early game snowball to win games. It's just way too unreliable.
Forgot to mention, Blademaster + Inner Rage... the attack gain should happen before the Frenzy effect right? Because the spell damaging the minion would have to resolve before the effect triggers. Meaning if Inner Rage is part of the Core set and remains the same it's a two card, 4 mana 3/5 Rush that also does 3 AOE to all enemy minions even before you Rush attack.
Even if Inner Rage isn't Core, I'll maybe try it out in Wild a bit.
I was expecting them to change High Abbess Alura to only cast targeted spells. It would stop the whole Tip the Scales nonsense and make her a lot more viable for Priest. There is no way to use her in any Priest deck because Priests really need their removal cards. Building a buff deck around her is simply not viable due to a lack of better card draw options. She is pretty much a Paladin exclusive legendary instead of a dual class card.
So now you'll be stealing an extra 2000 gold each expansion under the name of "mini set" from all the players. Great going Blizzard, you just gave the term F2P a whole new meaning...
Very cool redesigns. Really enjoy them keeping true to the old effects. Malygos is the one that changed the most from it's original form but I think it really keeps true to the original "I favor spells/combo" design.
Great start for the core set. This is gonna be a big reveal season between Core and Barrens expansion. Can't wait to get to play with the new stuff. I guess Shadow Hunter Vol'jin will amuse me until then!
p.s. Blizz keep printing more Deathwings! I want an entire deck of nothing but Deathwings. Thanks.
Obviously exp1 is Barrens with a strong Horde theme, mini-set might be Razorfen Kraul/Downs. They mentioned that we'd see more Alliance themed locales and characters later, and the three exp would have a loose theme. So with that in mind I'm thinking exp2 is Westfall with the Deadmines as the mini-set and adventure solo content. Exp3 will likely be based on a WoW battleground for that Horde vs Alliance feeling, and it's giving me Alterac Valley feelings, looking like snow blowing around some vegetation and the middle of the image, which could be a top down view of a tower in Alterac, and the broken gem is to show the conflict that is occuring in the zone.
Ysera is still powerful despite the 1 mana change to dream. Even if you can't cast ysera awakens on 10 in the same turn, it still more or less send a signal to your opponent that any board they build will immediately be challenged with a 5 damage board wipe. Overall, I like this change.
For Malygos on the other hand, its hard to evaluate. It fills your hand but chances are good you can't cast any of it until the following turn. So unless there's some really impactful 1 mana spell, this is just going to be a 9 mana do nothing card. But anything that tutors cards, and to such an extreme degree, would at some point be core, so I'm not giving my hopes up yet.
Deathwing. Well, its a powerful card swing with a more reasonable condition. But discarding cards have often always been bad, so Im not entirely sure. But it is a 12/12 board swing. And that has got to count for something.

She has a very unique-looking watermark behind her card text...
New Neutral Minion - Shadow Hunter Vol'jin
I pulled a tickatus warlock's y'shaarj and won because of it.
New Neutral Minion - Blademaster Samuro
How good this is will depend on how easy it is to buff it before you proc the Frenzy effect.

This and the rank up spells gave me major WC3 vibes for sure!

Only 26 more to go! And as long as the Class card Deathwings are all in Warrior you can build a 30 Deathwing deck, playing as Deathwing!

Cheese's custom core sets revamp - Global thread (done!)
Just a heads up, Volcanic Infernal will kill itself with its Battlecry, effectively registering it as a 10 mana "deal 6 damage to all minions" card.

I don't even play this as much as I would like because of the RNG to it
Deathwing the Destroyer
The heartburn is real.
Ysera the Dreamer
I enjoy this art. The perspective & gesture reminds me of a looking at a guardian.
Malygos the Spellweaver
Prefer the previous artwork. Contrast seems too low. Looks like a screenshot from WoW.

New Neutral Minion - Mankrik
So the search continues.
New Shaman Minion - Bru'kan
Combined with the buffed Lightning Storm, this'll be scary
