  • Crafting Hero Portraits in Hearthstone? The Dev Team Has Been Brainstorming It

Same here! I don´t like to craft many cards, it sucks, that you can´t use your dust for anything else, f.e. card backs, heroes, coins, or even exchange it for some amount of gold. I´d definitely like to have more options.

That one was not about the portrait itself, but rather about the tech behind it. They have to modify the collection to allow players to craft the portrait, which could be difficult since the collection Manager was never made for crafting portraits. They have to find solutions to questions like:

Can you DE skins? And if yes, where do you put the DE button, because the flavor text and "set favorite" part already takes a large part of the UI. It also raises the question how you differentiate craftable and uncraftable Portraits in the collection and if it's okay to keep the current View with only 6 heroes at a time if you plan to add more skins even more frequently.

The problems are definetely not just tied to "how to implement an png".

I mean, they haven't figured out how to make more than 18 deck slots, so it is probably quite tricky for them.

    ;p

the 18 deckslots is prolly due how game was prignaly made/designed and like the backpack in WoW its a  giant hassle that effects evrything to be able to change it. Due being old code and and just alot of spaghettii code

The blame is 100% on Blizzard. Players shouldn't need to load up Excel.

Ah this summarised quote got me 🤣 but I do believe ppl would've done their own calculations regardless if Blizzard was more transparent on the rewards track.

I've heard this (the original quote) said many times by managers/CEOs. When their staff/underlings present some simple proofs of how wrong the the manager/CEO is. They are just pissed that their underlings figured it out and work at making the next iteration even more baffling to cover up how they're screwing folks. "No, no, work harder, you'll get more reward in the end. Honest!!"

  • Killing off the "new": quests for DMF

Class achievements indeed aren't restricted by class. I'm making good progress on the "attack while having armor" Warrior achievement by using the Druid hero power.

  • Dean Ayala's Community Q&A #4 - Classic Set Rework Teaser, Craftable Heroes, Possible March Expansion, 2v2, Rewards Track

I think the problem isn't that people were doing spreadsheets, but that they weren't given the full data to work with. The planned event XP wasn't disclosed at the start, so it didn't end up in those calculations, which made the rewards seem a lot worse than Blizzard had intended.

The new system seems to be more generous for casual and semi-casual players, but the people who used to grind for 30G per 3 wins are off slightly worse and those people are heavily invested into Hearthstone and therefore very vocal. For me, the new system means I have to play a bit more to complete both the daily and weekly quests, but I get more gold in the end. Even after buying the mini-expansion with gold I'm on track to have enough gold for the next expansion if it launches late March or early April.

  • Dean Ayala's Community Q&A #4 - Classic Set Rework Teaser, Craftable Heroes, Possible March Expansion, 2v2, Rewards Track

The problem with Jade Druid wasn't in the power level of the deck, but in what it did to the meta. Any slow deck would lose to Jade Druid, any fast deck would lose to Pirate Warrior, so that left very few viable decks. I found Dragon Priest as a mid-range deck that stood up okay against those two, so I played mostly that, but if Un'goro hadn't shaken up the meta I'd probably have quit the game.

Barnes not playing even in wild, why the hell he will be in standart?

  • Crafting Hero Portraits in Hearthstone? The Dev Team Has Been Brainstorming It

I don't think you are interpreting him correctly. He's not upset that players are hoarding gold for the next expansion, because when the next expansion comes that gold gets spent. That's expressly saving up for something, not just hoarding it because you don't know what to do with it.

What he's more bothered by is gold/dust that just never gets spent and keeps rising over time. Take @forcemajeure's comment above as an example: that's >100k dust that they (presumably) don't spend because there is nothing compelling enough for them to craft. If they never spend it, then that dust might as well not even be there.

There are various reasons why players might accumulate these resources and never use them up, but Dean's point is that they could do better at giving players something to use their growing reserves on.

    Quote From h0lysatan

Buffing old cards makes more sense (nerfing is less likely, since the power level of each expansion is increased everytime).

That's not really true. There's no denying power creep exists, but fluctuations in power between expansions are way larger than the underlying power creep is.

In fact, most of the top decks in Wild are based on powerhouses from the Year of the Mammoth (2017). There have been some powerful sets since then, but for the most part the power level has been lower. It has helped that they are much more willing to nerf things nowadays, which has kept newer sets power levels in check and slowed power creep.

Contrarily, the "spend health to play cards" for Priest specifies that you have to be playing Priest, which is a bummer cause Warlocks could knock that out in wild pretty quick otherwise.

Well on this one, you can indeed complete it with Warlock. All you need is to play Seadevil Stinger and you´re good to go. It´s surelly a bug and maybe it was fixed by now, but still worked for me a while ago.

Definitely sounds like a bug ... one that I'll be exploiting this afternoon!

Can confirm: Seadevil Stinger works. Knocked out the entire achievement in about half an hour.

Cool, glad that it worked for you :)

I dont agree, you are already screwing wirh your opponents deck, the card does not need to give more value (information) to you. I get it would be nice, but no.

I love disruption stuff, just not when it's the most powerful thing. Disruption usually has to be fringe in order to be generally acceptable. Goal is that players that love it have many options but players that hate it aren't regularly subjected to it. (Source)

The people that love disruption LOVE disruption though. It's the reason they play the game. To do mean stuff to people! (i know because i am this person)

On this subject of disruption, it would be nice to make a visual change to Shenanigans that shows the 2nd card drawn to the player who cast the secret, coz most of the time, I have no idea if the card that turns into a banana was good or not, unless my opponent emotes alot
