The more plausible way to triple Shifter Zerus is to play it before it starts shifting so you don't need to get three in a single turn. Other than that, I like that it won't triple immediately because I can imagine someone randomly getting a triple Deflect-o-Bot and it'd be worse.
I dislike how Riot makes keywords like Deep and Augment so limited instead of making them like Plunder or Nightfall. For example, this card could be Augment: Grant me +1|+0, which would allow cards like "Augment: Heal your Nexus 1" or "Augment: Give me +1|+1 this round." Maybe they can still have some of this design space by making cards with "When I gain Power, do X" or "Once I have 5+ Power, do X."
Everyone was afk but me and bigglesworth, but bigglesworth crashed it seems and then it was just me. i sold everything and went for the epic shifter combo, but they don't merge apparently didn't know that.
That would be cool, tho i doubt they will want to make such information public to players, it could heavily discourage some from playing, after seeing their abysmal W/L ratio :)
First example of a new mechanic, and it is a pretty decent card in its own right. I wonder what other cards with the same keyword will be introduced. Viktor might have something to do with that for sure.
Genuine question: Why even try to be competitive in Hearthstone?
In the end, competitiveness in HS is reaching a level where if you lose, it's only because you could have played better instead of being able to afford better cards. You can try again, improve yourself or switch some tech cards around. That's where the fun of success begins. No hard feelings, I hope you understand my viewpoint.
I respect that answer, but it almost seems impossible because 'playing better' simply doesn't exist anymore due to the amount of 'Created by' RNG in the game.
Genuine question: Why even try to be competitive in Hearthstone?
Because losing isn't fun.
Competitiveness isn't just going to legend every month. It's about becoming a better player.
In a card game, that obviously also means having the best cards available. I could make an Elemental Mage deck from commons and rares only. But if I don't have (or can't afford to have) Frost Lich Jaina, that deck is going to be so much worse in every matchup. I'll lose much more than if I had that card.
You can play Duels for completely free. But if you aren't Demon Hunter or Warlock, and you don't have 20 Scholomance epics for Gift of the Legion or Killmox, the Banished One, you'll have a much more difficult time. You'll get 3 losses quickly, you can't pick the more interesting treasures.

Blizzard has been moving in a direction where they only care about whales. Only they are allowed to have fun. All other player demographics must suck it up and play 1-2 decks for scraps of rewards. Any steps forward in easing the problem like duplicate protection has been followed by opposite actions. The progression system rework solved nothing, only obfuscated the reward process and introduced another money sink for whales.
I disagree, we've gotten two new game modes within a year that don't absolutely require money or gold to play. Are there perks to spending money/gold for those modes? Absolutely. Are they required? Not really.
If you want to be remotely competitive, then Yes.
Genuine question: Why even try to be competitive in Hearthstone?
For Standard ladder I can kind of sympathize with those budget players who are really putting in the effort by finished in high Legend at the end of each month and attending tournaments/events. From my perspective, unless playing Hearthstone is a full time job, why are some players so adamant about being competitive?
I'd totally understand if they got invited to Blizzard tournaments/events but they just don't, not to any fault of their own of course. While Blizzard keeps hosting events that only streamers and influencers ever really get to participate in. I'm sure you see where I'm going with this, it just makes me scratch my head when a player states that they're "competitive" but aren't really trying to get into the pro scene.
Maybe we have differing definitions of what competitive means.
Because if you hadn't noticed yet with the "win 7 games in ranked" quest, being competitive is one of the only ways to get gold in this game without spending money. Saying "Why do people play competitive" is like saying "Why don't people just spend money to have the cards they need" Arena, you need to tryhard to make decent profit in the game mode, keeping up with stats and what minions are good after each rotation. Duels, you need the dust required(or have bought the expansions) in wild to have even a snowball's chance at winning games early against anyone else who is netdecking what some streamer said was good. "Why do people play competitive?" To have cards in this game.
Some people just enjoy being competitive. It's just another way to enjoy the game.
I rarely touched ranked for the first couple of years of playing Hearthstone. But in DoD expansion for whatever reason I went for legend and got it, since then I kept getting legend every month ever since and have the 11 bonus stars of the new system in both wild and standard every month since.

KANSAS - A "non-living" totem having Attack still seems weird to me, but I don't hate it. It's the best version of the card so far, I reckon.
Do you think I should change the art and/or the name? Here are some alternatives:
Show Spoiler
Some alternate names: Totem Rager, Dragon Totem, Lightning Totem, Living Totem (I might keep the original art for this one), or Totem of the Elements (I might give it another keyword like Windfury or Charge if I did this one, like a mini version of Al'akir)
I like the middle art, and "Lightning Totem" as a name. Loses some of the connection to Windfury, though.
Unfortunately, that art didn't fit very well, it was too small and you couldn't see the whole totem. So I went with my next best guess.
Some spoiler-ish thoughts on champions and archetypes, assuming the datamined leaks are true:

The more I think about it, the more I think Zoe + Viktor will be the new archetype – I expect Zoe will be highly based on celestial cards, and there should be a high synergy between celestial cards and Augment. I just don't know where that leaves Riven, though. Perhaps she'll end up like ShyvannaBADCARDNAME: a general SMOrc unit that upgrades into a win condition if you can flip her. I could definitely see her synergizing with Noxkraya Arena; that landmark just seems too convoluted and expensive to justify without a big payout.
Since Riot tend to create champions who are meant to work together, and based on the leaked voice lines, I think Riven is gonna create blade fragments like DravenSpinning Axe. As for Zoe she will probably have an effect related to invoke, they both have synergy with the new augment Keyword. Or maybe she will have both daybreak and nightfall effect like Eclipse Dragon, she is the aspect of twilight after all.
This card seems amazing to me, if you play just one Poro from Poro cannon this becomes a 5 Mana 4/4 Elusive. If you add Puffcaps and another Poro to that you can easily get it to a threatening 7/4 Elusive, almost the same stats as the Ionian 7 cost elusive. The only other keywords you’d really want would be Spellshield and Tough, but if you don’t draw any elusive cards, Quick Attack Plus Challenger can be another option. The way I look at this is that it’s a more synergy dependent Vi that can gain Elusive fairly easily, which seems pretty good
The Augment keyword ended up being way different than I expected, I thought it would be about upgrading cards in your hand. This makes a lot of sense though, it’s simple but has a lot of synergy with Targon, and if Riven generates Shards like her voice lines indicate, it could hopefully synergize with Noxus too. My most optimistic hope is that Viktor, Riven, and Zoe end up being more like the combination of Karma, Lux, and Heimerdinger (each combination has synergy) rather than one strict pairing plus an additional champion like TK, Soraka, and Shyvana. Augment also makes cards like Flash of Briliance more of a consideration, and it has major synergy with The University of Piltover.

seems that way, and they don't even combine when you get a triple off the shift either

I believe they only merge if you buy three Shifter Zeruses in the same round, before any of them change.

Regarding just this issue, I'd actually like to also see total number of games played, or an overall win-loss record.
Like, oh cool, I've won 4000 games. Did I do that over 6000 or 12000. Makes a big difference there.
