  • Weekend Wild Hearthstone Decks - Control Warlock, Big Rogue, Spiteful Druid, & More

Thanks for the spotlight on the Warlock deck.  I've got another slight variation on that from my new friend Merman, who friended me after I whooped him with the list above.  Being a Warlock-main he wanted to try the deck, came back with some edits.  Both decent, but mine is honestly more for the fun of burning about 10-15 cards or more.  His list he is trying to win!  Where's the fun in that?!  :)

The totem having attack as default seems strange, but windfury on a 0 attack seems equally strange. It's fine, just a little odd perhaps.

Thanks for the feedback! Which art/name do you think is the best

  • I feel there is a combo I'm missing here

I want to add that you can get the combo using Temporus but...

  • Dragoon Custom Class

I love the fact that Vera's intro music is a piece missing from the Explorer's theme. Also, what are the quotes for the Legendaries

I prefer Carnival Rager, the symmetry on the stats looks cleaner, and the Flamewreathed Rager is absolutely unplayable, as opposed to just bad pre-corruption

I actually prefer Mama Rager, Spellweaver Meggar feels too clunky, for any deck that would really want it.

As long as it doesn't count itself, I don't see it being too problematic. Can produce reasonable threats, but nothing too scary.

  • Hearthstone's Achievements - Everything You Need to Know

Hey OoC team, could we eventually getting a list of achievements and which are worth completing + suggestions on how to complete them?

I've been playing duels just to make easy decks that complete the XP achievements and having fun with that.

  • Afk BGs

I tried it for about 4 hours today and i barely got 200 xp, maybe it was good when the system first came out and i heard rumbling of a stealth nerf to it.

This is much lower than what I've seen on reddit, where the average xp/min is around 4.5 (including this analysis from a couple of weeks ago). Perhaps you're right, and there was a server-side patch to the system, but if you could, I think it would be useful to provide more info about how you implemented the strategy (e.g. how long do you think you were in queue, did you consistently queue up right after each match or was there some delay, etc.).

Depending on how you're implementing it, it's very possible that your four hours spent doing this AFK strategy translated to much less time in games than a bot doing the same thing would have had.

You getting only a mere 200xp for 4 hours is testament to them willing and having spent every ounce of muscle to stop easy xp from rolling in.

Is it really so bad that they want to limit people AFKing the game for XP? It makes for a more worse player experience if your opponents are regularly just roping/doing nothing. That negative impact is certainly diminished in battlegrounds (because you have six other opponents), but if everyone who AFKs ends up with a low MMR, it also creates two pretty bad results: 1) it means anyone trying out BG for the first time may be stuck with lots of AFK opponents at very low MMRs, and 2) it means the potential of wasting the cost of running servers on games populated mostly by AFK BG lobbies.

The game ought to reward you for playing the game rather than merely spending time in the game. There's room for improvement to how players gain XP, and the issues around queue times, etc., that make it hard for players to get the full value of an hour spent honestly playing the game. But despite that, I think it's entirely appropriate for them to try to prevent people from manipulating XP systems, because no matter how generous they are to players who are seriously playing the game, people will try to manipulate the reward system with bots, etc.

If a system is bad and built around exploiting you, you should be able to do the same to it without a guilty conscience. It literally gave me nothing doing this, i only did it because i was close to leveling up an didn't want to play any more games because i was busy with something else. I had already done my three quests i had and it didn't even give me a level up. The system is a joke. I think everyone should afk BGs, because "don't you guys have phones?" The small indie company that is ACTIVISION BLIZZARD can afford to pay for servers....Get in as much experience as you can before they cap it to to 1k experience a day and screw us even harder.

    Quote From Neoguli

I guess Overflow and Guess the Weight can sorta work, just additional cautiousness towards burning C'Thun pieces. I prefer Moontouched Amulet, because it gives you important Armor so that you have more "Health" to eventually heal yourself with. [Hearthstone Card (Mo'Arg Arttificer) Not Found] works well with most of damaging spells here, including Wrath. Still thinking about Nature Studies.

You generally don't tend to burn any cards.  It's rare that you cast 2 copies of Overflow in a game, it's just there to improve consistency with drawing the card and having it when you need it.  You want lots of draw because 1) you want to find your ramp.  2) You want to find your cthun pieces and 3) you want to draw cthun.  More draw allows you to consistenly get those pieces out in time.  I understand the idea behind moontouched amulet,  I even ran it myself for awhile in my druid deck.  And under niche circumstances It does work out well a lot of the time, however it needs to be corrupted to gain the armor (not terribly hard) but it makes it clunky under aggro circumstances. This is why I think Nature studies would do you better, it discounts the next spell (which technically means it's a 0 cost spell in some situations), and it allows you versatility to choose what you need.  Up against aggro? Discover a healing/armor/early removal spell.  Up against control? Discover a late game stall card (like Cenarion Ward).

If you do decide to make some changes, change only a few things at a time.  Like for instance I'd only change 1 or 2 cards, and see if the deck pushes you in a better direction.  If it works keep it.  I just was throwing out a few ideas of cards to consider changing.  Good luck!

I would prefer Twin Slice First slice costs 2, second slice 1

Boggspine Knuckles Why? Shaman right now is the only class that makes a good aggro player trade on the board.

Better leave it alone as it rotates after darkmoon faire.

    What?

Twin Slice is from the demon hunter initiate.

Boggspine Knuckles is from Ashes of Outland

  • Adding cards to your opponent's hand

Mulch also adds a card to your opponents hand, but understandable that everyone forgot about the worse version of Naturalize.

Edit: Spellslinger is also a fun card that add cards to both players hand!

You don't know me and i don't know you. Stop assuming you know anything about me just because of an statement i made. I apologize if what i said sounded like i was making assumptions. I know that everyone suffers disconnections but, in my experience, i have never seen something as consistent as this. It's not like it happens randomly. No, the game just kicks me out as soon as i finish a game. Have you never had something you wanted to do being interrupted constantly by stuff completely out of your control? Don't tell me that you don't feel at least slightly irritated. It's a normal human feeling.

This wouldn't be this annoying if it wasn't for its insane consistency. And this is exacerbated by the awful state of the ladder. I'm tired of dealing with Demon Hunter, Face Hunter and all sorts of aggro decks all the time. And then the game just consistently kicks me out at the end of every other game where the experience has already been miserable. This is probably what is pilling up the negativeness within me. And it's not like i can stop playing for some weeks while waiting for some balance changes. I can't afford to lose on any experience in this new system. I'll lose too much experience and too much gold which will set me behind a lot when the next expansion comes out. I'm trying to stop spending money on this game and i need to grind a lot because of it.

  • Tickatus and his Demons hate combos!

Thanks for flagging my friend! I suppose I picked that archetype because Tickatus discards card. Wasn't sure what other archetype it fits under. Control?
