  • New Paladin Spell - Snack Run

I used to love Ivory Knight, 5 stars just for the nostalgia.

And even without a body you can discover something that you can make use of it on the actual state of your game

    Good card imho

Here's everything you need to know about the currencies (or not need to know since its China exclusive)

  • Early Darkmoon achievements for XP

    I've just completed Duelist 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9. I'm currently 11-2 running Discardlock. I'll edit this post when it ends.

    EDIT

I lost to a Demon Hunter who had 2 cost or under minions have poisonous. Happy about the 5,800 xp to get me to level 22 though.

  • New Mage Minion - Firework Elemental

Maybe someday they could add an achievement to one shot Deathwing, and this minion will be the key of it

  • Blizzard Screwed Up With the Rewards Track - A Letter to Hearthstone

I wish they would add tracking achievements and quests in game.
like if I play 3/6 weapons for whatever that quest is pop up somewhere and show me the quest or achievement progress

  • Blizzard Screwed Up With the Rewards Track - A Letter to Hearthstone

Guess I also forgot to mention that I shouldn’t have to spend $80 and only get 2/3 of a set.
$80 should give you the entire set plus the new tavern pas

  • Hearthstone's Game Director Responds to the Rewards Track

    Quote From lMarcusl

    <Angry Pitchfork Noises>

Posts like these remind me of the vitriolic mindset of most gamers.

A Blizzard rep responded.  They said that they will be adjusting rewards down the track.

They then further said that they will continue to evaluate things as time progresses.

That the community, despite it's datamining and "investigative math" wasn't aware of bonus exp through special events and the such.  That they were taking that into account.

Yet you respond with the "worst intentions possible" instead of the best.

    from https://www.succeedonpurpose.com/post/positive-intent

My coach said plainly, “Assume positive intent.”

    “What?”

“Assume positive intent. When you enter any interaction assuming positive intent from the other party, your relationships will improve.”

I was struck by her words, without fully understanding how to apply them.

“Yeah, but people are basically focused only on their own interests, right?  And they can’t yet see the economic crash that’s coming so they won’t know this is in their best interest.”

“It doesn’t matter. If we assume positive intent, the mind will begin to expect only positive outcomes in relationships. If someone still gets upset, hurts you, or takes advantage of you, it usually has nothing to do with your actions.”

“Wait a minute,” I said. “People do hurtful things all the time.”

“True, they do,” she explained, “but they don’t mean to. No one really sets out to purposefully hurt us. People are just wrestling with their own issues. So, if you assume positive intent, you’ll find that most people rise to the expectation, and when they don’t, know they are doing the best they can and their reaction has little to do with you. More importantly, when you assume positive intent, you will trust yourself.”

    How profound.

  • New Mage Spell - Grand Finale

Turn 8: Play some random 1 or 2 mana elementals, like 5-7 will make it

Turn 9: Make some stupid trades and clear you own board, then Grand Finale + Broom

    Profit.

  • A Guide to Weekly Quests in Hearthstone

    Staff

No you cant, the 2500xp quest is in a separate quest pool. You always get that one, plus two 1750xp from the other pool.

Maybe they will add new quests to the 2500xp pool in the future tho. I really hope so, cause winning 7 ranked games per week can feel like a chore for someone who does not play ranked regularly.

  • Blizzard Screwed Up With the Rewards Track - A Letter to Hearthstone

Agreed about everything. They really need to include cosmetics for achievements too. Like play edwin 100 times and you get a golden edwin or a different colored edwin (same art but now black clothes or something). Same with heroes. Easy way to add new cosmetics. I'd love a different color clothed Valeera just to show off how many wins I have with her, etc.

Achievement points are fine as they don't need to be used for anything other than bragging but they really should have added cosmetics for achievement milestones - card backs, new hero skins, new card skins (like why isn't this a thing yet? i.e. different colored edwin or new art but same card effect), they could even do hero trays, new boards, and even pets like LoR does.

I really like the idea of achievements but I thought we'd actually get some rewards for it versus it being worthless.

oh and the UI is awful

  • Old Gods, New Tricks - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Great idea in the use of corrupt. Maybe change the restriction to Spells, for Mage-flavor.

Thanks! I think your take is pretty fine, but then we come to times when Mage was actually viable by not having many spells - Book of Specters comes into play. I wonder if this would be a fine card powerlevel-wise to push the Minion Mage archetype back into spotlight. Maybe a slight nerf would do.

  • Blizzard Screwed Up With the Rewards Track - A Letter to Hearthstone

Smashing job, sir!  I hope they listen well to these critiques.  The Tavern Pass ABSOLUTELY should be included in the already horrendously overpriced bundle

  • Hearthstone's Game Director Responds to the Rewards Track

Here's the issue with all this. Since these additional rewards, these seasonal events, are not part of the reward track and are essentially "extras" that come in from outside of the track, without any indication of when that is going to happen or how, it is impossible to objectively keep track of changes should any of that vary from year to year and season to season. If, at some point, they sneakily decide to not award certain XP bonuses and legendary quests at points where they previously used to, unless you have been keeping track, screencapping, archiving Blizz posts etc., it's gonna be real hard to unequivocally say "Hey! They're fucking us over this season!" The track will look exactly the same, the numbers on it will be exactly the same, yet you can be getting shafted when Blizz just don't feel like giving out legendary quests of the same value they did last season.

Moreover, we've already been getting legendary quests on set releases, adventure releases etc. Most of the calculations I've seen regarding how much a person would earn per month do not include these quests. Nor are these quests really retroactively available for review and comparison. So how exactly do these new "extras" stack up to the extra quests we've been getting in the past?

Using these extra sources of XP to balance out what is otherwise a shitty reward track seems like a really convoluted, hard-to-track, easy-to-tinker-with method to mislead people and just generally do whatever the fuck you want. I would not be surprised if a year, two years down the line, we suddenly reaslise that these extra XP sources are like 50 % as rewarding as they used to be, and that the new track is now just objectively worse than the old one unless, of course, you fork out the dolla dolla. Which, let's be frank, was likely the point from the get go.

  • Hearthstone's Game Director Responds to the Rewards Track

Traditionally, events give us a lot of extra packs or gold. If they will now give us experience, that IS NOT BONUS EXPERIENCE. Instead, we’re losing the event’s traditional bonuses, and the progression track needs to provide even MORE to make it work.

What I hear is “we'll give you more than you got from daily quests and crowns, as long as you forget about the other things you used to get.

  • Hearthstone's Game Director Responds to the Rewards Track

Zeddy is a prophet, they are doing exactly what he said they would, lol.

  • Hearthstone's Game Director Responds to the Rewards Track

Rember first Fellfire festival in 2018? Well, now we won't even get rewards that we got in 2020, since they are slicing them up year by year. This is their grand scheme to offer us some way worse variant of something that we already had to only tweek it a bit (still ending with worse variant) and players will be thankfull for it.

Pretty much the same thing they did with the "beta" label on BG: please spare us, we know we fucked up big time but it's definitely not intentional and things are gonna change for sure! (TM) Now buy packs.

    Agreed. Stupid design choice.

They also should have included a description of what you did when you get the popup saying it was earned.

  • Hearthstone's Game Director Responds to the Rewards Track

… and it's clear we missed the mark both in how we communicated and implemented the full functionality of this first version of our rewards system.

Deflector shields engaged! This was just a first version and we were already going to replace it anyway, pinky swear.

Honestly, one thing I really don't like about the achievements is how I have to go to the achievement menu (which itself is a mess) and claim the achievement every time I want to earn points from it.

It doesn't even take that long to do, but it's stupid that I have to do it in the first place. Why can't the game just give me the achievement points as soon as I earn the achievement like every other gaming service that has achievements in it? Imagine if every time you earned a PSN Trophy, Xbox achievement, Steam achievement, etc., you had to go to the achievements menu every time to claim the achievement. That'd be stupid and unnecessary, which is precisely why they don't do that. Just give me the achievement points right then and there, and let me move on.

You would be correct but I goofed. Shoulda said CET!

  • Blizzard Screwed Up With the Rewards Track - A Letter to Hearthstone

Same. I won a game of Battlegrounds with a 5% chance of lethal in the last round before achievements started exploding on the bottom left corner. I felt like the achievements were the true victory screen instead of the loud 'YAAAAAAY' in the end.
