Honestly, one thing I really don't like about the achievements is how I have to go to the achievement menu (which itself is a mess) and claim the achievement every time I want to earn points from it.
It doesn't even take that long to do, but it's stupid that I have to do it in the first place. Why can't the game just give me the achievement points as soon as I earn the achievement like every other gaming service that has achievements in it? Imagine if every time you earned a PSN Trophy, Xbox achievement, Steam achievement, etc., you had to go to the achievements menu every time to claim the achievement. That'd be stupid and unnecessary, which is precisely why they don't do that. Just give me the achievement points right then and there, and let me move on.
Same. I won a game of Battlegrounds with a 5% chance of lethal in the last round before achievements started exploding on the bottom left corner. I felt like the achievements were the true victory screen instead of the loud 'YAAAAAAY' in the end.
I wasn't aware of issues with the adventure ones which is a shame because we could have gone full crazy and done some adventure spotlights before the expansion!
Oh well, just as good content down the line. There are definitely plenty of players who never completed old ones and with Duels and Achievements, they are worth going back to.
Are you kidding me? They have no data about their own player base? This shouldn't be situation when we end up with same amount of gold after revamp of 6 year old system.
It sounds to me a bit like they have the intention to give out a bit less with the reward track, but through special events we will get extra amounts to make it feel more rewarding so we end up with a bit more compared to the old track.
The other track just gave you straight out rewards, which might feel less rewarding.
So to sum it up they want to "feed" us with special xp events to make it feel better.
Though we had special events with extra gold before, which is not in the calculations of the new system. Also rewards like a random legendary for an expansion launch is now just part of this track.
I am sure they never planned to give out less over all, but they want to disguise their reward system to make it feel more special and generous to get something.
We might end up with the same amount, maybe a bit more. Only time will tell.
I personallly think the reward overhaul is long overdue and a step into the right direction, unfortunately Blizzard tripped on that first step...
Thank you for clarifying that! Now what about the Adventure achievements? I 100% completed all of them, and it only marked the DH prologue....yawn. Anyways, thanks for all that you do to keep the community updated and involved
Seems pretty good that their listening, and fixing some of the problems with the pass. But i'm still skeptical. We'll have to see how everything works when they actually give us more information on how events work with events first.
Also did they just confirm the fact that they failed on providing information how the pass and events work together, AND not provide to give ANY information about it in the same post? That seems.. unwise...
Also they didn't say anything about the fact that the EXP we get is a LOT lower per hour than what they stated before. (It aint 400 exp per hour in standard & wild. If i remember correctly Zeddy said in his video that he got like 700 ish exp or something after playing like 5 hours, and that's WITH the exp boost.. But i don't remember that exactly..)
But i'm glad their changing those worthless Year of the Dragon packs at the end of the pass. But i.m.o. they shouldn't have been there in the first place. Why give people packs, that by the time you unlock them ONLY give cards that stay in standard FOR ONLY A FEW WEEKS.. Who thought that a smart idea? Also to most players is only 40 dust, which is way worse than the 300 gold rewards next to it... I'm so glad their changing that!
I'm glad their listening, but on the other side... Reddit is one giant nuclear bomb right now... (Compared to the toxic wasteland it normally already is), and a few content creators like Zeddy, Solem, Dekkster and Regis also spoke out against blizzard by making video's about it... (And POTENTIALLY losing some content creator privileges because of this... Because Blizzard hates it when content creators speak out against them.) so the HS team were pretty much forced to address this...
That's a huge oversight that needs correction. I forget what you used to be able to do to see if you won the round before it was over, but I know they patched it out for the same reason. Hopefully that is on their radar.
Yes, but us not knowing much is entirely their fault. Also I am sure that they have the necessary data, they know how much people make in gold, how much the play etc. Based on this you can easily do a projection of the new system before.
They did address this, I know we posted it somewhere...
Apparently, they only stored whether or not you hit legend, not from what ladders. Kinda lame since you'd think all that data would just be kept forever for statistical purposes but nope, storage apparently not worth it =
Not the biggest issue, but I just wanted to say what I don't like about the achievements is they spoil the outcome of some games. For example, I go into a match in Battlegrounds and I get an achievement before the match even starts and I already know I lost/won. That completely takes away the excitement.
Glad to see that content creators that plays "for free" and not in a casual way that most of users do are at our side too. Thanks for giving us public voice :)
I love that. Back then there was "variety of ways" to boost our gold income (quests rewarding x2 gold or giving the same amount of dust as addition to the gold...). They won't even come close to that now. I'm done.
I appreciate the response but I don't think bonus XP through future events is a satisfying solution. I mean what they basically say here is: Guys trust us that all will be fine because we add some events in the future. That is not a tangible solution but yet another promise. Rewards should be transparent and players should be able to plan in advance.
I mean they are selling the tavern pass now and want our money now, then the reward structure should be clear now also. That would be only fair. Call me a cynic but given Blizzard's recent track record on promises their response does not seem really ensuring.
I'm glad i'm not the only one that finds the interface very confusing, going from "having too many deck slots is confusing" to this mess is a complete change of mind by them.
Also, about the comment, don't feel bad. Negativity is wrong when is an end in itself; this is a rightfull complain to something that is not ok
indeed i mean its a new system ofcourse its not perfect and need adjustement but to make the good adjustements they need data it just implementen for a couple of days xd I mean come on give it a chance an know first everything
This part is okay because it opens up the gold to more players (Battlegrounds mainly since they didn't have tons of dailies) but yeah, the rewards pass needs to be more than just gold, packs, and heroes if you paid money
That is the point tho, we dont know much, the communication from Blizzard is the biggest problem, always has been. They can do better in this department and no one can say otherwise.
Thanks for all that you do! I have noticed wonky achievement progress. I reached legend in Standard and Wild, and I got the “Climbing the Ranks” achievement, but not the final “One With the Wild” or “Set the Standard” achievements. Very confusing for a long-term player, so I’d imagine a new player mightthink it’s all too much to digest at once.
