Flux, I respect you a lot, but you are too optimistic/forgiving to what Blizzard does.
They do this ALL THE TIME, piss players off checking their limits, this commotion is on purpose, I saw no one mentioning the atrocious requirements for duels treasures..
I like that the treasures are earned eventually but I would prefer them to be earned by X wins with certain classes or doing something related to the class.... or an achievement NOT BY OWNING 20 UNIQUE EPICS from Schoolomance, or 100 cards (which is all rares + commons + UNIQUE 14 epics + legendaries).
They made a huge uproar about it, so people don't make a mess also about duels.. They need to fix it much more to convince me to return to the game I expected this change for years.. It still feels bad to craft legendaries due to high cost, feels bad to try decks which don't have the legendary they are built around.. and feels bad to open so many 40 dust packs, I completed EVERY SINGLE DAILY QUEST since 2014 until last year this year I have been playing only weekly waiting for maybe this system to reel me back, it made me press the uninstall button I am VERY disappointed.
The achievement system is kind of disappointing I hate that a lot of it isn't retroactive, the rewards are mostly for specific legendary cards(you can get them in duels.. sure I guess that's fine if not for the above fact)
and the reward system giving packs...
The system needs to be a x2 improvement of the old system not x1.1 after the events maybe if you play..
And players who are committed and play a lot should expect to COMPLETE THE SET if they play every day 3 hours, people who preorder don't need to grind is that not enough?
I now realize the prompt is to make a tribe, not with your typical class and you have to do both, I mean I might just keep the king and just shift his class to rouge, yeah rouge is good because he's in a disguise technically. Although I guess since he needs a base tribe it doesn't really work which is unfortunate
Good article, even if it's "negative." You want to help a developer? Explain how you feel about a certain feature and, most importantly, WHY you feel that way! Contrary to popular belief (and one of the points in this very article), you don't need to suggest how to fix something in order to provide constructive feedback! If you do, great, but don't do it as a replacement for explaining why. Developers look at "this sucks and this is why I feel that way" posts and come up with feasible solutions. Then, it's a matter of prioritizing how and when to implement them; y'know, project management, budget, all that crap we don't hear about. Often, it'll take iteration (more than one attempt) to fix something, so continual feedback is crucial. Just be respectful about it! Emotional feedback is fine, so long as you don't personally insult the developers and you give them information to help them fix what made you mad.
Because i felt that the secret stuff may be too slow.. there are only a handful of reliably useful secrets in my opinion so i only put 6 in the deck. and there are already 4 tudor effects to play them at zero cost (and thin the deck). Overloading the deck with secret synergies seemed kind of pointless (flameward and flackmage do the similar things, though one is easy to play around i agree). I originally had that other stuff in, but decided that the payoff for having more elemental synergies might be worth it. It's a day one guess, and it will definitely change :)
In a perfect world I'd have artwork of a bigger, tentacle-covered Battlebot with the current Battlebot inside, but I can't draw so this is the best I can do. This is a pretty tough competition, but I'm happy with what I came up with and I think it fits the cagefighting theme of Darkmoon Shaman cards. Not sure how much Mana it should cost though.
Feedback time:
Show Spoiler
Wailor: I like the effect, but the artwork and beast tag really don't fit it.
KANSAS: For the Zookeeper, you can change the text to "Corrupt: It costs 4 or more instead" since many of the corrupts don't restate the entire battlecry. It might be better to buff it and put the mana at 5 or 6 though, since right now the RNG could make this card way too powerful. And I think putting the frog in Warlock would work great.
Neoguli: Yeah, that should shift to while in hand instead of this game, because otherwise you'll pretty much never get to play it unless you start with it and play next to no cards.
Arkasaur: I like the idea, but maybe drop the cost and stats down because generally higher cost minions have much more powerful corrupt effects.
BloodMefist: I think both of these cards are interesting. I'd probably go with the discard one though. If you do go with the double corrupt one, it might fit better in either Demon Hunter or Druid.
FungusABao: I feel like you should lower the stat gain from the corrupted version and keep the battlecry on both, a 14/14 Taunt is still really good but sometimes you might want the battlecry more. Since it's already going to take a 10 Cost card to buff it, I think it can afford to keep the battlecry.
TheHoax91: Demonxz95 already mentioned, but you need a corrupt mechanic. Maybe it costs less but the minions only cost 1 when it's corrupted?
linkblade91: I like it, not much to add.
Demonxz95: Not very flashy, but it works. Maybe specify "Spell Damage +3 instead" since right not it looks like it might add the +3 to the +1.
DavnanKillder: Out of the 3, I like the Forge Elemental the most.
MenacingBagel: This needs a tribe tag, maybe you could find mech murloc artwork and make it a mech?
Blizzard indicate the are going to replace the last 6 packs with a total of 1350 gold. Though I still maintain even level 50 is less gold than just quests in the old system (now 5,550g vs 7,260g), and for far more effort.
I don't know if it's a bug or something. But I kinda lost all my "precious" achievement points after restarting the game for the release. Down to 180 from 9000's ?! Anybody recognized the same?
Not that I really care about it at the moment, I was just confused.
Assuming positive intent in this frame of reference just assumes that the company inherently wants to keep you as a customer. Expansions don't draw in new customers. Expansions keep current customers engaged, and re-engage previous customers. A brand spanking new customer coming into an expansion is like a unicorn: Rare, and most likely non-existent.
The developers DO have our best interests at heart. Many of them play the game like us. They want to enjoy the same experience we will have. And at the end of the day, Blizzard may not be the company it once was because Activision executives may be forcing them to have quota percentage incomes per expansion, but the developers are trying to make the game fun for the playerbase and themselves.
Still think that the achievement system is too useless. I can even accept that the achievements do not grant any tangible reward (except for a little amount of exp) and are just to "show off", but what's the meaning of this if there's no way in game to make other players notice it?
Even PS trophies show on your friends' dashboard, and to make another Blizzardish example, in WoW they usually grant exp and titles (so a minimal cosmetic prize; zero effort to implement and would give a purpouse to getting a particular achievement).
If you add that you even have to waste time to redeem the useless points, it makes me wonder what they were thinking when they decided to release this shit.
With regards to your quote, when do you consider that the interaction with Activision Blizzard started then? I think many people might have tried to "assume positive intent" at first when companies like EA and Activions started to get involved in the games they used to loved but after having many bad experiences from these companies they might have the right to be skeptical? And this is just assuming that your reference to what seems a good way to interact with people is also applicable on interactions with large companies.
I have to admit that I don´t know much about the relation between Hearthstone and Activision but the general things I have heard about Activision makes me take a skeptical standpoint on most things they are connected to until they proved me wrong.
The reason to respond like this might be same as to why I prefer to be skeptical when a telemarketer contacts me and want to sell a fantastic vacuum cleaner bag subscription that is very good and it is super easy to cancel and everything is just generally fantastic. If I don´t use my experience here and instead go with "assume positive intent" and believe that they actually want the best for me I would have had to regret my self so many times.
zeddy was right, they did this on purpose. This was obviously a marketting tactic. they tipped their toe out the door to see how much they could get away with and now they're going to release what they were going to release anyway.
He was also right about people forgiving blizzard for doing this, like they didn't just do this on purpose.
Early Darkmoon achievements for XP
Sorry you´ve lost, but still 5,800 XP is pretty sweet :) Grats! My highest win in Duels is only 6 by now.

Yep - no freebies. The legendary you normally get was already on the rewards track. And packs I suppose were the duels quest packs,
