I've received a couple comments (out of 4 since I posted the token) that said the token isn't really a Fel Orc, which is weird, since... Well, it's the first image that shows up after googling "Fel Orc".
Back when I played Warcraft 3, Orcs were green until they drank Mannoroth's blood, when they became red.
I know that in Warlords of Draenor, orcs were originally brown, but became green after drinking Mannoroth's blood...
As far as I know, green and red are different stages of corruption, but after reading this comments, I wonder if red orcs stopped being canon or something. Can someone confirm, please?
Does anyone know: does playing casual duels and tavern brawl award experience? From my limited experience on day 1 of the new system, it appears not. I tried to complete the “play three games as a demon hunter“ quest in the tavern brawl and it neither awarded quest completion ticks or experience. I played a few duels and also didn’t see the bar moving on the progress track. I did confirm the bar was moving when I played some BGs and some ranked later. Seems weird not to award experience in those other game modes
So I went along to have a casual look at the xp gains from achievements and its conditions.
I wouldn't count of getting much from it. Some of them are pretty ridiculous, like getting Redeemed Pariah to have 10 attack (I already think the minion sucks, and now the devs seem to think its possible to ever stick it on board and get it to that high an attack). Others are pretty much walled out - requiring specific cards (legendaries) to ever have even the slightest chance of making it. And every class has its own crazed achievements. So if I don't particularly want to play, say, shaman, I would miss out on the xp from those achievements.
Not sure for now if you can complete this while battling a friend (which will trivialize the achievements to be honest). But if not, then I'll say the best estimate is that you'll only managed about a third of them, if at all.
Bragging rights nothing. Completing each class achievements should award a gold medal that is visible when playing so everyone can see you would have willingly sold one of your own kidneys to get these done.
Fixed! Some RenoLock in Wild was doing this to me earlier and I'm sure he thought he had me at one point because I also decided to rope a turn. But only because he had been roping all game, he was at 4 HP with a huge board, some of them big taunts, he had cleared my board, and I was top decking. But unfortunately for him I top decked an Arcane Amplifier while playing an Odd Mage deck... again he was at 4 HP.
I just wanted to give him some hope that I had rage quit before realizing he had lost! Does that make me a bad person?! Maybe... Don't judge me!
They advertised it as being the same, if not better, when the packs are not included. Also, no one wants to unlock a pack two months into an expac, that's when we are saving gold for the next expac.
I disagree. This article says that you hit level 50 at the beginning of the fourth month, leaving you 3.5 weeks left of pure gold earning. Assuming the absolute minimums (like OP did), on the old system, you would get 6,000 gold per expac (I guess a little bit more with the 10 gold bonuses, but that isn't super relevant). Extrapolating from OP's results, you can figure out that, in the new system, you would actually end up earning around 5,750 gold per expac - a smaller number, but fairly close all things considered. I, for one, have a feeling that actual averages and not using the absolute minimums of 800XP/50G would benefit the new system more because it would give you more time in that sweet sweet 50+ range.
Are you also doing an article on the new Duels HP, starting treasures aswell as the passive and active treasures? I'm really interested in them but couldn't find the list anywhere.
It was easy to save 7-8K before just by playing a bit and completing the daily quests where it didn't matter much win or lose.
Now there's a big time investment needed to get much less gold reward. Oh, and there's a mini-expac to open even more packs for (alot of which will start giving you commons you already have way before you fill the rares let alone epics/legendaries).
I've made a note of my current account resources, and will see how things go. I have a concern that over time the game is going to get less viable for me as my saved gold and dust dwindle as I can't keep up. We shall see.
I got exactly 7150 gold from the launch of Scholomance till yesterday after finishing the last quest for gold. There's no way in hell I can do that with the new system within 3 months.
Assuming the MMR is doing its job, 1 in 4 games should be top 2. For people that play Battlegrounds, it shouldn't be a problem to play rough4 games 1 week.
Let's suppose you kill Greybough, and his deathrattle attaches to Lucentbark. Lucentbark then dies. I'm 100% sure that the now-dormant Lucentbark is just a normal Lucentbark - when he comes back, he will not still have Greybough attached to him.
It's one of those, chances are slim but the payoff is high type deals. i'll try to test it on release. People are talking about greybough with hadronox but that sounds pretty terrible to me, since taunt druid of the past summoned way better things that greybough. But with greybough lucentbard druid, every time lucetbark would die there would be a two factor taunt in the way. And that's not even including if you copy a lucentbark that has the buff on it. then the potential for more taunts on death is there.
Shooting Star was relevant in Tempo Mage because it scaled with spell damage efficiently, of which Mage had efficient spell damage with Cosmic Anomaly. The one health breakpoints across multiple minions on Felscream Blast are rarely needed for a class like DH when they have more efficient cards like Blade Dance and Immolation Aura. If you wanted the lifesteal, Eye Beam gives you the damage all on one minion for effectively one mana, which is better than Felscream Blast.
Even when corrupted, this feels worse than Primordial Explorer. Dancing Cobra works against itself as the higher health on a poisonous minion is relevant early in the game, but the effect of poisonous itself isn't relevant in the early game.

The current version of Brann works pretty well, I really like this new Hero Power, it is very well flavored and also balanced. I think you are good to go : )
Current version is cool enough, but probably change the ability of Dreadsail Deckhand to "has +1/+1 for each other pirate you control" is more balanced? : )
Battlecry for Aegwynn now is pretty good. But the Hero Power is too good, for Mage, is 2 mana for a 3 mana card every turn, probably increase the cost to 3 : )
First, the Hero Power should be in Neutral class other than Paladin. The fixed Version for Her is much better than the original one. The Hero power is flavoerable but probably a bit complex. Interesting overall : )
Obiviously, Zaladris isn't going to be a well balanced card now with the synergy with [Hearthstone Card (Relentless Presuit) Not Found]. Vanessa seem to be a good design, it is a AoE for Rougue, but not that effective in certain situation, and that should be what we want for a card that breaks a bit of the limitation. The hero power is probably too good with Self-Sharpening Sword, but in an acceptable range. Overall, it is a pretty cool idea : )
For me, the Taunt version seems better. And also, make some change to the art of Fel Orc is going to make it better, since the current version doesn't really feel like "Fel" : )
Alexstraza is pretty solid drop for Spiteful Summoner Druids in lategame as another way to end the game. Feels good, I like it, but I think the desidn of Cho'gall is better. Cho'gall is very interesting, it allow you to disturb your oppent by "Curse" them, I think you should go with it, and just drop the Cursed! and submmit all other since it already exsits. : )
I think this is too slow in a couple of respects. First, Greybough is best utilized in a Token Druid that has multiple minions on board to best leverage the effect; however, Token Druid prefers cards that further cement their entire board immediately like Power of the Wild and Soul of the Forest. Second, there are a number of cheap silence and transform effects that see play right now, from Consume Magic to Devolving Missiles. This makes it difficult in a handful of matchups for Greybough to even get one deathrattle off as your opponent will control when the deathrattle goes off most of the time. Overall, I think the lack of immediacy of this card as well as its lack of synergy will prevent it from seeing competitive play.

Spell Control (Lab Deck) (Updated)
Okay that makes sense then. Hower it would be good if you would label the deck as a lab deck to make it clear right away what it is meant for

I got an N'zoth and his jewel as my epic. I think my game decided what my next deck is. Wild N'zoth hunter (2 gods and 2 jewels)!

I think it would be really interesting to compare these calculations to the situation if you buy the tavern pass.
I thought the 10% xp boost was a bit low but I see now that it jumps to 15 and a bit later to 20%.

I hadn't even realized the Eclipse cards were cards you could put in your deck. I thought you could only get them through the Legendary.
C'Thun, the Shattered
Oh wow they actually added some eye movement for the golden animation, that's cool!

Sounds correct to me.

Just as a gauge, to anyone interested
Played around 20+ min = 120xp
Since theres a cap on individual games, I would guess that its 150xp if you played a game that lasted 30 min and above.
