"that uses things that weren't balanced properly for PvP"
They've been working on this for at least a year - they've done TONS of balancing work on it. They didn't just throw everything in from Dungeon Runs and call it a day. You're misrepresenting the mode before even trying it.
Playing it by itself isn't too great, but there are a few ways to cheat it out that might make it really good. It might not seem too great at first, but there are ways that it can work.
On a side note: They finally printed a 10 mana 1/1. I wasn't sure if they ever would. All we need is a 9 mana 1/1, and it'll be possible to use Unstable Evolution on a Wisp 10 times and all 10 minions will be a 1/1.
I don’t know... 10 mana 1/1 is a meme for sure, but 10 mana “remove three enemy minions” could be a big deal in the late game! I’m not judging this little guy until I see it in action. And not until I get my hands on a Holy Hand Grenade!!!
Love the art, Odd paladin might like this. Problem with Corrupt cards looks like they might be "dead" cards in hand, since you need to hold em to upgrade em. They can be played without Corrupted effect for average value for the cost, but most of the time you really want to upgrade them and they just gonna lay in your hand. I like the mechanic, but i wonder if it might flop, at least on some designs.
Interestingly, no 4 Tickets with big bundle like last time, it would even fit as a new mode promo. Ah well, too bad, i liked that i don't have to save gold for Arena last expansion.
I don't think this will see any play in standard. It might see some experimentation in some meme wild priest decks because of Zilliax and SN1P-SN4P. But there's no support left for mechs in standard, this isn't a good resurrection target and committing a 5 mana slot (which is completely overcrowded for this class) for a slightly bigger than average taunt that can easily be silenced, removed or completely ignored by a Kayn Sunfury isn't a good deal. It requires at least three spells to be playable and even then it only surpasses Faceless Lurker in utility. Totally not worth it even with the new N'Zoth card.
5 mana 4/4 Rush isn't horrible but it is weak, so you'll want to corrupt it.
5 mana 8/8 Rush is quite strong obviously, but it requires you to play a 6-Cost card meaning you can't play them both in the same turn. So, 3 stars at best for me.
In Arena though, you'll probably have quite a fair few amount of big cards to Corrupt this, as well as the fact that it's just generally stronger there when Corrupted.
This card has a potential to grow in size a lot, but it cant fit into every deck imho and turn 5 might be too late vs aggro. Look good at first, but might end up not doing so well.
You can definitely catch a lot of players off-guard with it since most people don't really care about where they place their minions, which can allow you to grab something really big. Particularly, Paladin and Shaman can summon tiny things with their Hero Power to give to the opponent which can be good with it. After a few weeks though, people will most likely learn to play around it if it does see play.
Here's an interesting thing to try out though in Warrior: Soulbound Ashtongue. Use Silas to give it to your opponent, and then Shield Slam it.
I also share the sentiment towards Blizzard's inaction, so I believe this change is coming too late. However, even if a change is coming late, I don't think that should invalidate the improvement. What matters to me is that they are making strides towards meaningful and significant changes to the game, and yes they could have been faster about it. With that said, they can't go back in time and implement these desperately-needed adjustments a few years ago, so the most they can do now is improve, regardless of how long it took.
I think it is important to hold them accountable and properly chastise them for their lethargy, and expressing that is valid. I just also find it exhausting to listen to people bitterly holding their past inaction over their head when improvements are being made now and irreverence for changes made in the present. It gives me the impression of someone that will never be pleased, regardless of whether you listen to them or not, because you didn't listen to them before. You're forever irredeemable in their eyes. Again, that's just my perspective, and I see the validity in holding people accountable for inaction; a balance of expecting more and appreciating improvement is key, to me.
You throw something (deal 4 damage), and then the person in it splashes (the AoE). This card could be very powerful, although it's not that strong without Corrupting it, so I'm not too sure about it. By the time you're able to Corrupt it, 2 damage might no longer be enough to kill what you wanted with it.
That said, 4 mana for a Fireball and a Consecration is good at pretty much any point, so I reckon it'll see some play. If there was an option for half-stars, I'd rate it a 3.5.
Does anyone know when the update goes out for mobile? I typically play on my computer, but I need to log in on my phone in order to spend my Amazon coins on the pre-order.
- Whether the rewards will give out unwanted rewards like packs from previous expansions in lieu of gold. If blizz thinks a previous expansion pack is worth 100 gold, then they seriously need a stern clip across the ear. Also, I don't need arena passes, tavern passes, or the new duel passes. I need gold, and that's always preferable to others.
It's going to be very difficult to say anything here. If a pack is a reward at a level, has it replaced gold or does it just meant there's more levels squeezed into the same amount of XP, at which point it's just a purely good bonus pack?
Personally I'd throw away this question completely since it is only ever answered implicitly by another of your questions: If we get as much (or more) gold than before then those 'unwanted rewards' can be counted as bonuses, but if we get less gold then they have replaced gold.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I care very little about card backs in my own collection, probably due to how they are displayed in the user interface. I thought that I would buy the pumpkin one that was just in the shop, but I ended up skipping it, since I felt like 500g was too steep for something I can barely see during the game.
I do enjoy it when my opponent has a cool card back though!
Things certainly look better than what we have right now. It's also nice that they aren't going to cap the amount of gold we can receive after grinding all those levels. There are still quite a lot of questions though. How fast can we grind those levels? How much exp will be required for further gold rewards after level 50? How much time this new system is going to ask of the average player? We will only have the answers after we experience it so let's wait and see. In a few months we will know if things got better or if the game is doomed.
Now, with the rewards currently revealed, i can say that this is still a big joke compared to Legends of Runeterra. I played LoR for three hours today to complete a few quests, receive the weekly chest (which i barely grinded for, totally forgot) and some pending tutorial missions and i was rewarded with 5 champions (the equivalent to legendary cards in HS), several epics, rares and commons, a decent amount of shards (equivalent to dust) and a bunch of wildcards (something that HS doesn't have). And i barely did anything. Just a bunch of tutorials for 150 exp, a few games against the A.I. to test a deck i made and 1 game against a real player.
The reward track in HS gives 1 epic and 2 legendary cards. ONE EPIC? For the whole track? And two legendaries (which i imagine are completely RANDOM)? There are more than 100 legendary and epic cards in standard. Most are unplayable. The disenchant cost for cards isn't receiving any adjustments. If you get garbage then too bad. You just spent a bunch of time grinding for gold that you will only spend in 4 months, several packs that might contain something you want or just dust, a few cosmetic items and three garbage unplayable cards that won't even be worth enough dust to craft a single legendary. Totally worth your time right? Now, imagine that once you spend your hard earned gold on packs from the next expansion... you hit the pity timer every single time. You get two to three legendaries that might not even be playable. And you have no choice but to go back to grinding.
The game might become more affordable. But it's still too expensive if you want to be competitive. They are not addressing that issue in the slightest. If Runeterra wasn't a thing or if i didn't start playing it (which i only did because HS was pushing me away from it) then i wouldn't be able to raise an argument about this. But i did. And this is inexcusable. I'm not joking. The difference is that outrageous. ActiBlizz isn't going to change its greedy ways.

New Druid Spell - Solar Eclipse
This will break Druid again :D

Hearthstone's Progression System - Everything You Need to Know
Don't know if it's better or worse but at least it's fresh.
Does someone know if before November 12 we should use all our normal old daily missions? or should we keep 3?
New Neutral Minion - Fleethoof Pearltusk
5 mana 4/4 Rush isn't horrible but it is weak, so you'll want to corrupt it.

This makes me wonder if they are going to reset everyone's XP to 0 per class in an effort to level them up on this track.

Flavor is amazing, you do cannon ball, everyone gets splashed :D Tho im a bit worried about how many AOEs Shaman getting by this point.

well atleast its cleared up now
New Priest Minion - Fortune Teller
These types of effects very rarely see play, and I see little reason to believe that this one in particular will be different.
At least while Convincing Infiltrator is in Standard, that card is just much better in almost every way.
[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)
Nope, but on the right track that golden has to do with animation. Refer to first line.
How do I access it?
