Others have mentioned it already. Dragonqueen got nerfed for pulling 2 zero cost, random dragons. This will fill your hand with 0 cost corrupt cards. The big question I have is how will the Corrupt trigger on those zero cost cards? If you play a 1 cost card, will all zero cost cards activate?
Thank god it's 150 gold after level 50 and not 50 or something like they initially wanted to do. I think it's a good change since we will only get more rewards and free skins
Ah. good catch. The way I read the Tavern Pass description I assumed (most likely incorrectly) it was the same things as the Battlegrounds perks. I will edit my comment above to remove my probably incorrect conclusion.
maybe over time they will go into different tiers of sets . Like after 10motnhs of these so people could get all of showcased 10 we get new ones to pick from but they have tier 2(most famously boodfang)
I love this card already. I like playing the older C'thun decks, and i will love playing this one. I wonder if C'Thun, the Shattered will get buffed in wild after playing one of the C'Thun cards? If not then it's a big dissapointment, even if C'Thun, the Shattered is supposed to be more of a OTK card in itself.
Standard: This will certainly see play in control decks, but those aren't the best right now. If any deck can certainly use this, it's certainly galakrond priest. Galakrond priest generally wins by generating a lot of value, but they can slot in C'Thun, the Shattered as another win-condition.
Wild: Maybe in some other control decks? Honestly it depends how the pieces work, if it doesn't shuffle copies, then highlander control decks might consider it. If it shuffles copies, then highlander decks will ignore C'Thun, the Shattered. Seems like a card with a lot of potential.
Where is it mentioned that the tavern pass is included in the pre-purchase mega bundle? From what I have seen, only the battlegrounds perks pass is included.
Seems like a good ress card, if you wish to ress certain minions. This gives other classes than priest the ability to ress stuff, so that's... cool but not that fun i.m.o. Now i have to hate anyone that plays ress cards (in standard), instead of just priests. :(
Okay but seriously, i'm guessing were going to see plenty of weird tribe minions in all kinds of classes. Like priest which got a mech this expansion. We will probably have to wait to see all the possible options with N'Zoth, God of the Deep. Also this seems like an really expansive reload for managerie decks, should they come up. Also, Never underestimate ress cards. NEVER!
while rod of roasting is a WILD time, you do have to play ten spells before hand, and then you only have a 5% chance to roll that, so this yogg is less splashable than the old yogg. But oh boy tournaments are gonna be fun with yogg around.
Blizzard have done it again. 4 very exciting legendaries, of which I'm sure I will never get out of a pack. Oh well, moving on.
Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate is an rng card that will certainly see play, and will certainly shit on some unlucky streamer in one of those meme videos. Nearly all the options will be good from what I saw, but the one 5% chance to get a pyro or nothing deal is where we cross the line to bonkersburg. Why does this option even need to exist is beyond me, but after I calmed down a bit, its actually just a massive gamble of which odds are will always favor the winning player, so perhaps its not as bs as I thought on first impression.
C'Thun, the Shattered is another cthun build around card. As such its usefulness is completely based on whether you can assemble it fast enough, and if the pieces are actually worth shit. The end effect is strong, but unlikely to ever kill since its very rare to actually get an empty board and 10 mana to spend it. Its not confirmed yet, but cthun's pieces might actually be the first time ever that a card actually expand the deck size which might count for something in fatigue control wars.
N'Zoth, God of the Deep is deceptively powerful and Im 100% sure its going to go into every midrange-control deck in the next expansion. Might even creep its way into aggro decks too.
Y'Shaarj, the Defiler can only be powerful depending on the corrupt cards we see. But for now its the least powerful of the 4 we've got.
My initial reaction was pretty tame because all I heard was the announcement trailer. I didn't read it in depth.
But this line in particular is a sucker punch:
All Hero Powers and Treasures added after Duels: Early Access can be unlocked by meeting a variety of criteria associated with your Collection. For example, unlocking a new Hero Power may require owning a corresponding Legendary card. Or to unlock a specific Treasure, you might need to own 30 Epic cards from a given set.
Hero powers locked behind having specific Legendaries? Treasures locked behind having 30 Epic cards from a given set? That isn't even in the ballpark of 'could be free to play, if you want to make it work.' That is strictly pay-to-win. Just how many packs do you need to purchase to have 30 Epic cards from a given set? Those things don't drop like rares do!
I feel gross. This feels gross. This makes me not want to play any longer.
In control decks it's a knock-off Galakrond, the Tempest if you played 2 copies of Fleethoof Pearltusk. (In terms of stats/removal when played) But that's pretty much it so far. Maybe you can use this in control galakrond shaman for even more 8/8 minions?
My guess is that we will certainly see some kind of OP broken (Legendary) card, or cards that can be played again. Time will tell i guess.
I'm not saying they don't deserve any credit or that they aren't working hard to improve each game mode. What i'm saying is that they are usually overshooting too hard on their new designs and that generates a lot of dissatisfaction very quickly. They try to balance things but when they miss the target (or don't really fix anything as that's the case of Djinni), it only creates even more problems that they need to solve quickly. They are being proactive but the pressure over them is at its highest in a very long time. There's a lot of things to look out for and i doubt Activision will expand the team to make things easier for the devs. They might already be under work overload and it could lead to a snowball of other problems.
Adding a mode that uses things that weren't balanced properly for PvP could be a major source of problems and i don't think it was the right call. People have been asking for a Tournament mode for a long time and there were other suggestions as well. I believe the reason they went for this is the ability to re-utilize assets. It wouldn't need a ton of work to implement and their only worry would be the overall balance of the mode. But it could backfire pretty hard if things become too messy. I also don't believe they chose this because they are lazy. It's exactly because they have to meet certain deadlines and are constantly under pressure from their superiors. It was easier and healthier to go for this route and bank everything on the previous success of Dungeon Runs.
Another question to answer later once this is all released is when it will make sense to re-roll daily or weekly quests to maximize value. We don't have a list of all quests yet, do we?
Throw Glaive and redeemed pariah and Il'gynoth. Judging from Ilgy being a raid boss in Ny'alotha, he'll probably be a legendary, while the other two are just common-epic.
Interesting take on Mind Control Tech, but at 7 mana i don't think this will ever see play. (Realistically)
In wild this is still a bad minion. It's way too expansive and needs several Emperor Thaurissan ticks in order to become a "decent" combo card. Also Warlock already has a similar card called Treachery, which is cheaper, and can be targetted. Sure Silas Darkmoon can trade itself for a good/bigger minion, but once Silas Darkmoon gets into any kind of meta deck, everyone will play around it. Which makes the card bad again.
Actually maybe galakrond priest likes this card, it's a "steal a minion" card, and your opponent will get mad IRL if you steal their big wincon, mainly paladins if you steal their minion with Libram of Wisdoms on it.... Wow Silas Darkmoon actually 'screams' "I'm a neutral priest card", now that i think about it...
It's also nice that the tavern pass is included in the mega pre-order. The XP bonus will help a little and hopefully help with getting through the track a little faster. From my perspective, (as someone who would buy the bundle anyway) it's even better value.
EDIT: As was pointed out below - this was my assumption, which is likely not actually true. I thought it was included in the bundle, but they only called out Battlgrounds perks explicitly.
New Neutral Minion - Y'Shaarj, the Defiler

Easy pick to require a nerf.

Hearthstone's Achievements - Everything You Need to Know
But hearthstone achievents have given out gold as a reward in the past. Maybe there will be xp for completing these now.

Hearthstone's Progression System - Everything You Need to Know
yeah from what i can see aswlel its just Bg perks not the tavern pass
So if its there id love to have it pointed out/shown.

Darkmoon Rabbit
lol... so terrible but I'm always happy to see another nod to Monty Python. And now for something completely different.
New Neutral Minion - C'Thun, the Shattered
I love this card already. I like playing the older C'thun decks, and i will love playing this one. I wonder if C'Thun, the Shattered will get buffed in wild after playing one of the C'Thun cards? Rated as 5 star b/c it is the only appropriate score for our lord and savior.
Hearthstone's Year of the Phoenix Phase 3 Brings Another New Mode to the Game
In the reveal they said that the new 35 cards would be found in card packs for the current expansion midway through the expansion.
For some reason, Darkmoon Faire is being released 2-3 weeks earlier than the usual final expansion of the year.
Hearthstone's Progression System - Everything You Need to Know
Judging by there being a 'Win 2 place and above in battlegrounds' quest, I'm sure rerolling will still be thing
But you're right, we dont have a list yet so there's no way to tell whether rerolling daily will get us better rewards.
Hearthstone's Progression System - Everything You Need to Know
The lvl 50 hero skins are all the Tier 1 raid sets from classic WoW.
Nice touch for WoW fans.

Well this is a very.. interesting card. We will need to see some more Corrupted cards first, but some synergy i see so far is:
In paladin: Gives you 5 Silver Hand Recruits i guess.
In control decks it's a knock-off Galakrond, the Tempest if you played 2 copies of Fleethoof Pearltusk. (In terms of stats/removal when played) But that's pretty much it so far. Maybe you can use this in control galakrond shaman for even more 8/8 minions?

As a minion, it can be resurrected, so I think it could see play in THAT archetype
New Neutral Minion - Silas Darkmoon
