  • New Paladin Spell - Day at the Faire

    Staff

You'd probably need to Corrupt it to make it worthwhile in most situations, but that probably won't be too difficult.

Odd Paladin will definitely love this, I'll tell you that much. Otherwise though, I'm not so sure.

  • Introducing a New Game Mode: Hearthstone Duels!

Alright so this is the mode i have wanted since Dungeon run came out. So i'm really happy it's finally here! I'm glad there is a casual mode, and that i can use my wild collection to actually have an advantage against the "i only play standard, and DE rotating cards" players, but still F for those players. Kinda feel bad for them. (And this is also a good marketing trick for blizzard, so people will buy old adventures to unlock the cards.)

Also i'm glad there is a heroic version that costs 150 gold and gives rewards. I'm guessing there will get some datamines around the time it releases, so we get to know how good the rewards will be. If they are similar, or as good as arena rewards, then i'm guessing it's truly RIP Arena. It won't be missed (by me at least, but there probably are some people that like arena more... i guess? At least most Arena streamers i know quickly became BG mostly/only streamers, so i dunno...)

  • New Druid Spell - Solar Eclipse

    Staff

This card has so much combo potential, especially if played after a Lightning Bloom where you can essentially negate its 2 mana cost. Lots of situations where this card comes useful. Guardian Animals in particular can be really strong with this.

  • Hearthstone's Progression System - Everything You Need to Know

What is the XP for? Just determining where you are on the rewards track?

  • New Druid Spell - Lunar Eclipse

    Staff

This seems really, really good to me as it's basically a 0 mana Darkbomb.

Or alternatively, a Bogbeam that you don't need to wait until turn 7 for it to be "free" if you play another spell afterwards.

  • New Druid Spell - Guess the Weight

    Staff

With proper deckbuilding, you can definitely lessen the chances of making it a guessing game and actually make a consistent 2 mana draw 2. It works well with Lorekeeper Polkelt as well. It isn't as strong as Breath of Dreams, but perhaps it can be used in that card's place in Druid decks which don't want Dragons.

  • New Druid Minion - Kiri, Chosen of Elune

    Staff

This is a very strange card by design, and I'm not sure how to feel about it from this perspective. That said, both of these cards are pretty good so you can probably find some use for them.

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Felscream Blast

    Staff

Strong, cheap AoE for Demon Hunters. This will be surely be good. It's literally just Shooting Star with Lifesteal, and in a class that could make good use of that healing.

  • Hearthstone's Progression System - Everything You Need to Know

Still a bit unsure about the pass, but it seems like it isn't p2w that much so that's good. If they told the truth, and were not losing gold. Then i'm not complaining. Also i might get the pass honestly, as long as it's not too expensive. I play the game a lot, so getting cosmetics finally for mage (one of my favorite classes) and finally another skin than morgl for shaman might be really interesting to me. But then again, those skins are probably like Tin Can Uther and Scholar jaina. (Probably no new voicelines, but if they do have new voicelines, it would be amazing!) Guess i'll wait with that pass until we know more about that.

It's unfortunate that BG and normal pass seem to be seperate. Kinda wish you could get both in 1, or unlock BG perks at pass lvl 50 or something, considering that's probably where you get later into the expansion. (Would allow you to "earn" BG perks later into the expansion, but still makes buying BG perks a good option at the start of a expansion.)

  • New Neutral Minion - Y'Shaarj, the Defiler

    Staff

We obviously can't judge this yet since we don't know all the Corrupt cards.

From the design cues I can pick up from the current Corrupt cards though, most of them are probably going to be mid-to-high Cost. Cheap Corrupt cards wouldn't make too much sense since it would be extremely easy to upgrade them. The cheapest Corrupt card so far is Day at the Faire which costs 3, and by the nature of the keyword, this is probably the cheapest cost Corrupt cards will come, although I'm perfectly fine with being proven wrong here. Adding lots of 0-Cost stuff to your hand is always good too.

  • Hearthstone's Progression System - Everything You Need to Know

Ever since the battle pass stuff was first talked about I've been concerned that it will reduce the amount of packs a reasonably dedicated F2P player can bank per expansion. Still feeling nervous about that after reading about this progression system announcement until they put out some real details about the level rewards.

  • New Neutral Minion - N'Zoth, God of the Deep

    Staff

This is definitely weaker than the original N'Zoth and probably the weakest of the four Old Gods in this set from a first glance, although if they're revealing it this early, then there's definitely got to be some support for it also coming. But just because it wants you to play all these tribes doesn't mean that you need to support all the tribes, which is an important distinction to make.

  • The First Pre-Order Card Back to Return to Availability is the C'Thun Card Back, Yogg-Saron Card Back Also Returning

The preorder cardsbacks are much less special now

  • New Neutral Minion - C'Thun, the Shattered

    Staff

On first glance, this goes in a deck that likes to draw a lot, although those tend to be aggressive.

This however is very good in Control decks since the tokens are "fair" (not great, but acceptable) cards by themselves, and the reward is definitely strong for what you get.

The playability of this card lives and dies by the viability of Control decks. If Control decks are viable, then this will absolutely see play. But if it isn't, then it won't.

  • Hearthstone's Year of the Phoenix Phase 3 Brings Another New Mode to the Game

    Quote From Veloce0

The expansion launches nov 17 we get the pre patch nov 12.

And the 35 cards are not something we get, they are added to the newest expansions card pool.

Got to say I'm not very excited about the idea of a mid-expansion change to the card pack pool. I guess we'll see how it works out. Maybe it will end up feeling more interesting than the current "hoard gold for a whole expansion then drop it all on new packs on day 1, then hoard for four more months."

  • Hearthstone's Progression System - Everything You Need to Know

Confirmed that they are separate :( on the Blizzard blog:

"Battlegrounds Perks will now be available as a standalone purchase, separate from the Tavern Pass."

    Sorry for the confusion everyone!

    Pro
    Quote From DestroyerR

Blingtron 3000? Also, holy crap you guys made me do a lot of updating to the leaderboard. Also also, WTF ANCHORM4N THE DISRESPECT OF THIS MAN

Whoops. I actually haven't kept count myself. I'll make a screenshot for potential future blackmail and then keep my mouth shut until you've taken the lead again. I really like your bio and wouldn't want to be the reason you've got to change it for.

On a side note: would you please try to fix the leaderboard? The second column has been broken for a while and now the whole thing got messed up after position 7 or so. Maybe one of the mods can help if you face difficulties.

  • Hearthstone's Achievements - Everything You Need to Know

Whoever downvoted him, would you please explain the reason? I kind of share his sarcasm: Blizzard is insanely slow and lazy about implementing improvements.

  • New Neutral Minion - Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate

    Staff

This is definitely the most meme-y card they've ever made in the entire game. This actually makes the original card seem pretty tame by comparison. Its condition is pretty easy for most decks to meet. Its Constructed viability is one to question because of how random it is, but it will absolutely see play on the basis that it's Yogg-Saron and a funny card.

  • N'Zoth is the Pre-Order Bonus Hero for Darkmoon Faire - Warlock Old Gods Fun! Pre-Order Details

Looking at how they are downgrading base bundle expansion after expansion I feel like next expansion we won't even have a base one. It's going to be pay 80$ or pay nothing

  • New Neutral Minion - Darkmoon Rabbit

In wild this can be cheated out with Oakheart, allowing you to clear 3 minions a turn faster.

Druid has ways to discount this minion or even just ramp to play it several turns early.

I suspect this minion might find home in a new N'zoth deck - this is a powerful beast to resurrect on turn 10 that can clear at least half of your opponents board. We'll just need to see what other minions you'll run in that deck.

  • New Neutral Minion - Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate

Okay from whatt i can tell, Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate is better when your losing as most of it's effects are better when your losing. Which is perfect flavor, because that's how you play Yogg-Saron, Hope's End as well! Also the 10 spells thing fits well because of other yogg cards like Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron. The flavor on this card is really good, and i love the effects. Also one of the effects is liturally the old yogg effect! Also the 5% chance to get [Hearthstone Card (Wand of Roasting) Not Found] is terrifying, but kinda fun.

It's as EVERYONE knows, Yogg is ALWAYS lethal! (For someone)

This card is certainly the first card i will craft if i didn't pull it yet. People will certainly complain about it, and yogg will either get banned from e-sports stuff like grandmasters AGAIN, or get nerfed so it's effects stop when Yogg-Saron, Master of Fate dies, a.k.a. Yogg-Saron, Hope's End after it got nerfed as well. (Thankfully he got un-nerfed back into glory in wild.)

This is certainly be my favorite card of the expansion! TIME TO SPIN THE WEEL! :)

  • Hearthstone's Year of the Phoenix Phase 3 Brings Another New Mode to the Game

Yup they literally fused few stuff they already had in game and called it a new mode. I'm not gonna complain tho, as long as we get that new new game mode

  • Introducing a New Game Mode: Hearthstone Duels!

This looks so totally not for me. But so is Battlegrounds and people seem to like that well enough so I hope Duels works out the same.

  • Introducing a New Game Mode: Hearthstone Duels!

Not every one of us have the luxury of time to log into twitch just for the sole purposes of a raffle, of which the rewards are not really that great.

Its nice of them to do this, don't get me wrong, but you would think that giving it out for free for everyone to play would be the best thing to do to get the ball rolling.
