Is the finalist voting broken for anyone else? I can see the finalists but there isn't anyway for me to vote on them.
Because your card made it to the finals.
To remove the possibility of finalists sabotaging the votes by voting 5 stars for their card and 1 for all others, people who make it to the finals can no longer vote in the finals.
this was posted well before the patch. i am aware of general strategy, but the game seems to lean more and more towards highrolling.
Considering the Elementals didn't bring something new, but rather more of the same, I'd say the metagame is at the same spot ever since the removal of the Cannon.
It is a highroll game, but you have to set yourself up for the highroll.
There are two basic ways to go.
If you happen to have a strong early game with a definite direction, then you either level to where your defining cards are (usually 5*) or look for them off of triples
If your comp doesn't have direction, you look for ANY centerpiece and slowly transition over to that. (Hasty transitions are an easy way to die in one turn, with exceptions).
The best way to stay stuck is to blame it all on luck.
"elementals didnt bring anything new" are we even playing the same game?? elementals scale harder than any other tribe - you'd better have a damned good reason for not going elementals.
The old strat used to be go to 4 as mechs, 5 as beasts/murlocs, and 6 if anything else. now that elementals are here, those comps are left in the dust and the strat is get to 5 asap and hope to highroll.
you first need to get lucky and get a good hero. you then need to get lucky and get elementals. lastly, you need to get lucky and hope you're not queuing against a team. prove me wrong.
I dunno how i feel about Landmarks. Seems like a cheap Warmother's Call type of effect with a downside that takes one board space. As long the effect is not overturned given its mana cost, i think it will be ok.
The biggest determining factor of whether this is good or not is how it handles cases in which you don't have a unit in your deck that costs 1 more. I think that there are three options for how it could work
1. It kills the unit and summons nothing: This would make the card fairly bad because it would be a significant drawback in the late game
2. It doesn't do anything: This would make it a fair card
3. It looks at your deck and kills the most expensive ally that has at least one unit in your deck that costs 1 more than it. This would be really powerful because it would keep "upgrading" your board even once you summon your most expensive unit, and it would almost always trigger no matter how you build your deck. You could even choose not to include units of a specific mana cost if you don't want to destroy them.
I think that it'd be cool if the Landmarks were a little more interactable by the opponent. Like maybe the Landmarks have a "Durability" and whenever your Nexus takes damage they lose 1 Durability. That way they could make Landmarks more or less durable depending on how long their effect should last, and people can play cards like The Leviathan to destroy enemy Landmarks.
I highly doubt that it's any of them. Firstly, because SI and Freljord already got their champs and they said that all regions are getting 1 only. Secondly, the leaked voice lines that are left are Soraka, Zoe, Riven, Tahm Kench, Viktor, and Shyvana, and having anyone else aside from them is going to be surprising. Though it's not out of consideration. Tristana could be PnZ even without any leaked voice lines because there is Poro Cannon and it'd make sense if that's her card.
My predictions judging from the Road Map in the end, showed someone who looked like the same race as Black Market Merchant and Tahm Kench so based on that I'll say that we're getting Tahm Kench for Bilgewater. I'd say we're also probably going to get Soraka because a lot of her cards are already out and the last champ is going to be a completely random one. I'll take a guess and say it's Viktor just because I think that they could save Demacia and Noxus as the last one and base a theme around the two of them.
I like everything except the state of Card Styles, if those borders are it, then that is extremely low effort honestly. I hope they come up with something more interesting in this regard.
I'm curious how this will work when it kills a unit and you don't have another unit with 1 cost higher than that unit. Will it even kill the unit? Or will it just summon the next highest? The way it's worded makes me think it will just kill the unit entirely. Meaning that this card would counter its own gameplan by killing the highest cost unit every time and summon nothing after. The way it works makes me think it's probably best to put it in a Tryndamere deck or maybe a new upcoming Last Breath archetype from SI? Not really sure how it's gonna work out but it's a card I would love to tinker with.

Most likely it will be the harrowing or whatever, as for what that entails I expect some shadow isles stuff since it's their main gimmick

I think this is great personally, I'd love to see Ruinterra tackle all these mtg staple mechanics.
Just by having them take a place on the board already makes them far more balanced
Hopefully we don't get any mana cheating like fires of inventions because that killed standard for everyone.

Interesting mechanic and card. Not seeing ideas for using that one currently though.
Looking forward to seeing more landmarks.
Runeterra's Monuments of Power Introduces Landmark Cards - Persistent Effects for the Whole Game
MTG has both! A regular enchantment is played and it stays on the battlefield. An enchantment that has the "Aura" subtype is attached to a permanent.
Ajani's Welcome, as seen below, is an example of a regular enchantment, or what Landmarks are.
Knight's Pledge, on the other hand, is an Aura and it attaches to a creature permanent.

Aren't MtG Enchantments attached to creatures? Those seem more like Artifacts, or Field Spells from Yu-Gi-Oh.
