  • The New Bannerman

    This is a significant point.

I've played a fair share of MF scouts which uses the Bannerman package. It's basically 3x MF (Bilgewater) and 37 demacia cards, and I've had my alligiance fail more than you'd think.

  • Inner Fire OTK Priest

    Quote From Fyrfytr998

Maybe I don't play it right, but I've never had any luck with Inner Fire OTK. And conversely I hardly ever lose to it either in Wild.

It's not exactly the greatest strategy ever since you rely on one win condition and don't have many control tools, it's also very matchup and draw dependent. It's usually bad against aggressive decks, but it can deal with slower control decks. I've had the greatest success against Raza priest and Reno warlock. This version is teched more against aggro with Holy Smite, you have no way of dealing with early big targets with something like Shadow Word: Death. Your only stall is with Wave of Apathy, but make sure to use it sparingly.

  • Dragon Focused Decks

    Quote From Phaseshifter

Is Herald of Dragons even worth using even in a dragon focused deck? It feels like you waste your turn 2 to get a dragon a turn earlier. And if you wait to cast it later it defeats the purpose.

I don't like Herald of Dragons, but I have been begrudgingly including her. A lot of the 3-drops I'm running are spells (Dragon's Clutch, Prismatic Barrier, Hush, etc.), but the deck is a tempo deck, and missing a unit on turn 3 can feel bad in matches against faster decks. Since she makes it possible to curve into Whiteflame Protector on 3 and one of your 5-drop dragons on 4, she has made the cut. (Worth noting that Whiteflame Protector on 3 is probably the best play this deck can make - it's like a pre-nerf Loyal Badgerbear that can grow over time.)

That said, she is a terrible top-deck in the late game, and she's easily killed. Depending on how you build the deck, you might be able to leverage Mobilize for mostly the same impact. I think that has much the same problem, though, where it's good on turn 2 after you skipped turn 1, but kind of pointless in the late game. Alternatively, maybe you just run decent 3-drops and plan to curve out a little slower.

  • 71% WR to Legend

I essentially played 2 decks to legend this season (September).

From Bronze to D5 I mainly used a Budget Aggro Hunter (68% WR). This deck went through several revisions but here is the final version:

    ### Budget Aggro Hunter

On my final run from D5 to legend, after quite a few attempts with several other decks, I tried Soul Shard Demon Hunter. It took 27 games with 11 losses (71% WR) starting at D5 no stars. Here is the version I played:

    ### Soul Reaper DH
    # Class: Demonhunter
    # Format: Standard
    # Year of the Phoenix
    #
    # 2x (1) Battlefiend
    # 2x (1) Consume Magic

    Match Ups:

Priest: Easy, Consume Magic and burst damage is key.

    Shaman: Easy, everything beats Shaman.

Warlock: Easy, self damage Warlock makes for easy games.

Demon Hunter: Easy, this version is simply better in the mirror.

Hunter: Easy, life gain, board clears and taunt simply shut aggro down.

Mage: Easy, just overwhelm them with damage.

Warrior: Toss-up, comes down to your life gain vs their bombs and their armor gain vs your damage output.

Druid: Toss-Up, sometimes they just get the nuts and ramp to Guardian Animals or bust out a Kael'thas on turn 5 and there's nothing you can do. Other games you just smorc them down. Blade Dance is key in this match up.

    Rogue (Stealth/Weapon): Easy, see Hunter.

Rogue (Secret): Toss-up, really depends on how well you play around Plagiarize and if you have immediate removal/silence in hand for Hanar.

Paladin: Difficult, you have to juggle keeping their board clear, going face and hoping you have an answer for their Divine Shield, buffed, heal for 8, Taunt minion turn.  Consume Magic and Kayn Sunfury are key in this match up.

Office chair is more cheap. I used zero gravity recliner about few months. It is comfortable  and do not take much space in my room. The zero gravity recliner was once seen as a modern convenience, but everyone can buy one online after a little research.

I'm not an expert but I think it will depend on your budget.

Gaming chairs are usually more expensive than office chairs.

    Quote From Thraxus
    • Storm Arrows: Overcosted board wipe (in my opinion also out of flavor in Hunter but that is up for discussion)
    • Aeladori Prophet: Really like it, I think the mechanic is a great addition to DH; not sure about the powerlevel though
    • Illidari Dancer: Nice idea but simply no, e.g. Marrow Slicer, hero power (your +2 version) and this card would result in a 8/6 body and 12 damage in face if your opponent has no taunt up as well as a 4/1 weapon for next turn all for 10 mana; thats a big no for me

I personally agree on all 3 points especially Storm Arrows.

Thematically, absolute board wipes were never a theme for hunters. I think they are more in the lines of random single target hard removal, something on the likes of Deadly Shot, Rotnest Drake, Krolusk Barkstripper, Spider Bomb, Pressure Plate.

guys, which office chair better to buy for home or better to buy gaming recliner?

  • Fan Community Spotlight - Neoguli's Core Set Reworks - Part 4 (Demon Hunter and Hunter)

With Illidari Dancer, you could do all that on turn 5 if you save Marrowslicer durability and with one Twin Slice. 8/6 and 12 damage.

  • Looking for help - extremely stuck at 6k

Well one good tip I would give is to set achievable goals for yourself. I started stagnating at the 8-9k mmr range and I realised its because I would have some big variances in my play. Sometimes I would have good winstreaks and gain like 200 mmr in a single seating, and then I would lose like 500 mmr because I was seriously on tilt.

To counter this, I like to set mmr floors for myself, like maybe 150 mmr below? If I cross this barrier, then I stop and go cool off for a bit because it is seriously hard to play well when you are tilted. Also, RNG does in fact play a huge role in this mode, so you either stomp or get stomped most of the time, and bullshit losses/wins happen all the time. Its good to recognize this fact and try not to take the game so seriously. I found it really helps with your composure to just either laugh it off or vent it quickly somewhere and move on.

  • Solver Illidan

After trying several other decks, I won with a slightly modified version of this one on the first try, by mind controlling his Priestess of Fury, then buffing and duplicating her when she somehow survived his next turn. I added an extra Acidic Swamp Ooze just in case (but didn't need it), and let "complete my deck" fill in the blanks for some cards I don't have yet.

I would say so. It is really nice being able to pull 4 and 5 cost dragons on round 3 and

  • Targon's new mechanic Spellshield and Hush seem very problematic

Spell shield doesn't seem to be that powerful, in my experience playing ranked I haven't faced any opponent that use Bastion, Shroud of Darkness or any card that give your units spell shield; I do agree however that certain cards like Fused Firebrand are a bit too strong, a 5/5 with fury is already hard to kill and doesn't need any extra protection.

  • Dragon Focused Decks

  • The New Bannerman

I feel like splashing 6 Targon cards is going to hurt your allegiance too much. Along those lines, Solari Soldier is only better than Cithria of Cloudfield on the turn he's played. Otherwise, he's identical to her. So, Solari Soldier should probably just be Cithria of Cloudfield which will drop your splash from 6 to 3, making your allegiance significantly more consistent.

Just to give some hard numbers, let's suppose you've drawn 10 cards, and none of them were targon cards. 30 cards left in the deck, 6 of them are not demacia. That means there is a 20% chance that the next card is targon, or 1 out of 5 times you're in this situation, you will miss your allegiance. If you had only 3 targon cards, it would be a 10% chance, or 1 in 10 times.

Long story short, you roughly double your chances of hitting allegiance if you drop from 6 cards to 3. (Though, obviously, these percentages change a bit if any targon cards are drawn before playing the allegiance).

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    Right

  • Targon's new mechanic Spellshield and Hush seem very problematic

I think they should have spell shield last until the beginning of your next turn. It's not realistic to have to use 2 spells for each threat that has it. And you have to pray that your 2nd spell doesn't get stopped.

  • Fan Community Spotlight - Neoguli's Core Set Reworks - Part 4 (Demon Hunter and Hunter)

Nice work, I appreciate it. Thanks for sharing. Although I must confess I found the previous iterations more on spot. I think there are quite a few dubious decisions here. Theremon already underlined many of the problems. Just want to point out Battle Felguard, which is a blatant powercreep on Leroy (at least you could only run one copy of Leroy). Leroy was HoFed for a reason.

    Some other thoughts:

    • Storm Arrows: Overcosted board wipe (in my opinion also out of flavor in Hunter but that is up for discussion)

  • Blood Magic - Standard

Oh yes ... the infamous 1 or 2 turns brawls ... good if you want to farms based on the odds, I guess
For me its a one and done! Thanks for the pack

  • absolutely yes, good point! (early reminder: the deck is for fun ofc)

    there are 2 reasons tho:

    1) i need the Reno/Zephrys most of all. Cause a refulling (or perfect card) is just helpful since you are probably running out of cards (in hand) and maybe falling a bit behind
    2) once you complete the quest play Shando Wildclaw/Keleseth those little beast get super huge and it s kinda funny ^^
    3) with the new 1 drops (compared to 1 year ago for example) you dont even lose that much value from them cause they are all really valuable... so being highlander before completing the quest is nice imho
    4) CONS: you lose double tundra rhino but if you draw a copy in the early game you are pretty much dead... ^^

P.S. another good point would be "you can play Keleseth if you didnt draw Zephrys or Voracious Reader" : sure you cant.... but if you dont draw them you are kinda doomed tbh xD

P.P.S. friendly reminder again... the deck is super just for fun... cause overall the old quest isnt that great sadly :( (the highlander aspect helps a bit tho... at least from my experience. i also LOVE highlander decks!)

  • Help to optimize my deck V2.0

Solari Soldier proven to be much better then expected. The true goal behind this card is NOT to play it on T1, but use him to block an attack from a key unit on later turns.

Wouldn't Solari shieldbreakerBADCARDNAME be better? Or does it have to cost one?
