Idk why they don't keyword as much as possible, in computer science there's a principle that everything you do a lot needs to be a function/method/constant.
Yes, but remember that this is a *game*, which means it has to remain accessible to a wide number of potential players. Do you think a large number of people would learn computer science terminology just for fun?
10 Mana is way too high for this to be viable unless there are support cards that reliably can trigger multiple times. The 10 Mana 6/6 Quick Attack that costs 1 less for each spell you've played was awful, and I'd argue most decks cast more spells than they play support units and spells that target allies. That being said, if Targon has good support cards for this (like Sonic wave or an elusive support unit) and attack buffs to benefit from the Overwhelm keyword, this might see play.
Yes exactly this, this card is just stats and it gets cheap enough to be played too late into the game, it's part of the soraka package so maybe soraka supports the whole board on level up or something, and then this card makes sense
Okay okay, this is totally an explanation I can get behind: you know there are many cards, you know the community has been asking for it for a while, but his reason is clueless.
At this point, it is just a matter of time before it will happen, but for the meantime I satisfied with Celestalon's words.
This reminds me of the time when I was a new player and someone just straight up dropped Al’akir on me and I had the biggest “wtf” moment of my HS career.
I can totally understand how he feels about overcomplicating this whole keyword issue, and he actually gave a very legit answer that was not “players are too dumb to learn all the keywords”. Good on them.
The point is the information will still be in the card, you will just need to hover over a card with the keyboard..
Idk why they don't keyword as much as possible, in computer science there's a principle that everything you do a lot needs to be a function/method/constant.
And they are not going by that logic.. They probably assign it as a keyword in the code but just don't write it, same for enrage.
I had thought about purchasing Sylvanas, but the real money cost is not justifiable to me. I would happily plonk down 2000 gold or even dust for her though.
He did say it was a small downside, and I agree with him it is not zero. For experienced players who already know all the keywords and mechanics it takes negligible effort to learn 1 more, but new players are met with 10 keywords in the basic set alone, and that did not include other common keywords like deathrattle, stealth, discover, immune, outcast, overload, combo, choose one, secret; plus however many set-specific keywords there are at the time; plus mechanics like armour, transform and weapons that are all simple but still need learning what exactly they do.
Each individually is trivial, but when there's that many at once there is no hope they all stick in your head straight away, so while card space isn't an issue it might as well just be written out.
Hello, it's not a 10 second google search, it's a 3-second hovering over a card! But otherwise that last paragraph makes a lot of sense. This is a much better explanation than ones given in the past and i'm a lot more willing to accept it, even though i would stil really like a keyword.
With very little gaming the minimum is an average of 70g/day (quest and some won). Multiplied by 7 (days)*17 (weeks) this give almost the double of what Ben earns ...
I don't disagree with you, but I do think having to Google how something works is bad game design. They could easily get everyone on board with the change, but I respect their design decision.
People who are suggesting OP to play wild clearly haven't played wild constructed in a while.
It was bad enough for a control player in wild last expansion with Quest mage running rampant.
And now you've got Reno priest, which was already a top tier deck before, with a bunch of new cards AND druids with their regained innervate all over the place.
Wild is combo all around right now. Good luck playing a control deck there.
But as others have rightfully said already, there's plenty of viable control decks in standard right now.
Highlander mage, bomb/big warrior and galakrond priest (in order from most to least effective) are all more than serviceable decks.
If you want to beat Reno Priest, just play Fatigue Warrior. It’s such an easy matchup you almost need to try to lose it to not win. Wins against aggro, and as long as you play Dirty Rat at the right time, you usually win against combo too
I don't have trouble countering the meta, don't worry.
Which deck do you classify as fatigue warrior? The only slow warrior decks that come to mind are odd warrior (instant loss versus mecha'thun because no combo disruption) and DMH warrior (inconsistent).
In standard there will rarely be any control metas and when that is the case you should expect something really boring as Control Warrior mirrors.
In wild there is room for everything, really. I see people here saying that in wild control decks are good. They aren't. Combo decks are good, not control. All tier 1 decks are decks that stall the game by freezing or gaining armor until they get all the combo cards and kill you. This should have been a fun meta considering the combos, but the amount of discover bullshit that goes on is crazy and makes the game un-fun
>Ben earns 5000 Gold per expansion cycle, he does not expect to earn less in the new system.
And that's exactly what was mentioned in the survey - it mentioned 5240 in total. I manage to earn about 20k gold per expansion cycle. If they reduce gold cap to ~5k, I'll just quit. I don't want to put a damn penny into this crap for a long time already.
I also love your suggestion of user voting. However, it might have the issue of whether people vote because they can vote or if they actually play a ton of games in Standard/Wild and have a solid idea how a card performs in the format. But personally I think that steering the system away from one person's task for both upkeep reasons and to gain a wider perspective is definitely not a bad idea.
Understandable, we plebs rarely know what we are talking about :)
I was thinking more of combination of both: the community votes on the tier of the card but it will be the ultimately the responsibility of the Maintainer/s to decide the tier. This way it won't be too much of a burden on 1 person or persons to decide, and at the same time the community can provide it's insight/perspective to the maintainer/s on the value of the card.
Additionally, I think the tier rank should be categorized by patch/meta and voting should be grouped per patch/meta. Similar to the "timeframe" filter of HS Replay on its meta report. The value of the card fluctuates depending on the meta.

Since you guys have full control of this site, I think it would be a fun idea to make separate page/portal for this not just a forum post. Much like what you guys did for Arena and Fan Creations.
If I've understood correctly whenever we discuss the topic, this is the plan. Or maybe because I also want it to be the plan I keep reading into it.

so they will implement it after all eventhough most of the community doesn't like it, classic. Also:
"Ben earns 5000 Gold per expansion cycle, he does not expect to earn less in the new system." -> tf is this? I don't care how much gold Ben earns. I earn 9k Gold every cycle and I do not want to earn less in the new system. Him mentioning 5000 says nothing about keeping the rewards as they are.
Edit: If they remove the rewards I will be a bit happy because I won't spend that much money on a game. I will use that money for something better. Also, I'm a bit burned out, been in HS for so long. Just give me a good reason to delete the game blizz, I'm tired of broken metas, bad marketing strategies and taking ages to nerf a card. FeelsBadMan
