If that's a perma - buff then it's a really good card.
Might be the best support card at 2 mana.
There's no question -- as pointed out by one of the game's loading screens: If a buff doesn't say how long it lasts, it's permanent!
(Of course, in many cases, there's very little practical difference between temporary and permanent health buffs -- either way, the health isn't removed at the end of the round if the unit is at or below its max health.)
Problem is, on most games, including Hearthstone is more like "man, I had that much money to spend on pixels 2 years ago, and avoided that FOMO". I did the Tyrande trick, got Khadgar on the iphone buy thing, some other heroes on shop, and I don't think they are "experiences" in any shape or form, just a cool cosmetic thing that maybe diferentiate me from newer players, but I have zero envy of everyone else been able to get it.
Well, It's good to know that they're listening to the Feedback they are receiving over this Topic. I hope the Devs can figure out a System that satisfies the Players AND is profitable to them.
HS has been doing great Improvements over the past couple Expansions regarding F2P-Friendliness, would be a real Shame if they'd take two big Steps back.
Its just another confirmation that this is going to happen no matter what and they are actively trying to keep the hate as low as possible by tweaking ever so slightly every time they get an explosion in reddit or somewhere else. Now the benchmark is set at 5000 gold. Unfortunately for Ben, that's actually not very good since most players can easily get upwards to 8k per expansion if they just play it semi-casually, finishing up all their quests.
Notice that assurances is that the idea is to repackage, not reduce rewards. Which is somewhat true. Again, its not really saying much at all since one of the main issues I had with the BP was that my 57 packs was being stretched out over 4 months, making it tantalizingly within reach if only I have the patience to actually wait. And if I ran out of patience, my only recourse is simple: buy packs with my hard earned cash (of which the exchange rate can go fk itself)
We'll be waiting to see the actual descriptions of the BP when it comes out. At least now we know something of the sort is certainly in the works and its not likely to go away anytime soon.
Yes, i always get between 8k-9k per rotation... they are saying 5k because this new system has a clear goal to lower players resources to force them to buy packs... f2p players already can barely play, with the amount of legendaries and epics that are "must have", but now in this new system it'll become a ordinary mobile cash-grab game.
I'm really liking all the support for Support, since that's a real cool mechanic that seems to be underutilized.
Regarding Bastion: its ambiguous, but based on what they've said and comparing it to Barrier I would expect:
It only lasts until the end of the round
Nullify works comparable to Fizz's ability--i.e., it is like the spell/ability never happened
Since they specifically qualify "...that would affect the unit", I think it would totally cancel things like The Ruination and Twisted Fate's red card. That's extremely generous though so I wouldn't be surprised to see it revised as "...that targets the unit".
Regarding comparisons to Deny: it's somewhat apples and oranges. Deny hard-counters big finishers like Warmother's Call and The Harrowing, which Bastion has no effect on. Bastion can be used proactively to prevent frostbite whereas Deny is limited to fast and slow speed spells/abilities. A more fitting comparison might be Prismatic Barrier: for the same 3 mana, Barrier will effectively negate 1 hostile damage-based spell with the benefit that it could also be used in normal combat and the drawback that it has no effect on non-damage spells like Culling Strike and Vengeance.
Ben confirmed that the ammount of earnable gold will not be capped at 5000 gold.
"The 5,000 gold that I reference is my personal experience based on how much I am able to play per expansion. Yours would be different depending on how much time you can put in. This is categorically not a statement that the system is capped at 5,000 Gold. The section highlighted in bold clearly address this also. -Ben"
I followed the comments on the other thread, and I'm trying to wrap my head around it. I play nearly every day, rarely miss a daily, but don't play much more than dailies unless I'm going for R5 or Legend. I also play Arena at a decent enough level to not lose much gold (Average ~5 wins). I agree that the 5,000 gold banked per expansion sounds about right for me. I understand from the other thread that some players are able to bank double that.
I think most issues could be resolved if they stopped rewarding specific set packs - in general and in Arena - and started rewarding pack tokens to claim any expansion. You could also bank pack tokens into future sets or spend them on wild sets. The biggest problem with Arena is that towards the end of a season you don't want to keep opening current set packs. I also would have gone to Legend last month if I knew the set pack rewards were going to be from Scholomance and not AoO (they visually still appear to be AoO as you level up Ranked). I know that potentially adds a new form of currency into Hearthstone, but the issue with pack rewards is that the value of a given set pack changes over the course of a season and set-rotation-year. The 150 gold arena entrance fee is a set value if you can pick and choose how to spend your pack reward.
I like what they did to Priests Core Sets, so further Changes to Basic and Classic sound interesting.
If I had to take a Guess, I'd say Paladin is the Class they're looking into the most. That one has had a lot of Identity Crisis over the Years, a Revamp would really help.
I like this a lot. Being able to get hero skins after years of not having access to them because you didn't want to or couldn't invest in the pre-release bundle to get the hero skin at the time was always kind of a bummer.
Interested how Blizzard tried to set perceived value of the gold reward per month to 5000 gold. I do play mostly for dailies and I earn ~7500 gold per expansion cycle. Setting the max to 5000 would decrease my gold income by one third.
Btw, 4 month per 30 days is 120 days, each day a 60 gold quest and 10 gold for 3 wins (equal to half an hour up to one hour play per day) is 8400 gold
There are just too many cards that need a revamp from being completely useless to know where to begin. What I can say is that ever green shouldn't necessarily over-power the expansions. The mentality of this is that the cards that are used in Standard are meant to be the new mechanics and they are supposed to beat out a number of things that Classic doesn't provide. However, if the expansions are putting out cards that are dwarfed by ever green cards, then why even play them in the first place?
Alternate heroes should be valued for what they are, new art and voicelines for your favorite hero that you enjoy better than the default one. That is why you should buy them. Not as an "I was there" token that sits in your collection that you sometimes show to people for their envy. There is nothing valuable or truly enviable that you bought that hero when it was available; it just shows that some players are falling for Blizzard's artificial scarcity tactics.
"Valuable items" (not that they have any real world value anyways) should be given to players who invest time, dedication and skill into a game, not to those who bought that specific thing in a 1 month window. There is no actual value in those. Real "rewards for veterans" are the Legend and Esports cardbacks and we should see more of them. (For top Arena and Battlegrounds players?)
This is one of the reasons why I quit playing World of Warcraft. If you see a player with the Black Scarab mount, you know they're a veteran from the early days, and they've earned an achievement that only a very few dedicated players could get. If you see a player with the Horde Motorcycle mount, it's only because they've logged in in that few weeks long period when it was given to everyone. You may have played for more than them, played better than them, but it won't be available again for you because they want to keep that "I was there" token. And Blizzard started pandering more to those people, introduced more limited time shop mounts and lined their pockets in doing so. Some people take the artificial scarcity bait, but it is a business tactic that greatly disgusts me.
