Oof. I think Blizz is walking on thin ice with this one. I think there's a good reason why the game hasn't seen a 1-mana minion with Spell Damage just yet, because it allows for combo shenanigans. This may reinvigorate old Freeze Mage in Wild, as these two replace the 4 mana 2/2, but due to their dominance with other variants, I doubt they would think of that.
This can definitely help Tempo Mage thanks to great early stats and Spell Damage to clear more stuff, but I doubt Tempo Mage will recover ever again after the nerf to Mana Wyrm. Highlander will have a hard time fitting in this fella. Cyclone Mage may be it's better home.
This is a nearly vanilla minion that generates both a 1 mana card whose value will often exceed 1 mana, and also tells you what your opponent just drew. Also pretty neat with Glide if you can get the opportunity to play it. All in all, great card for a control mirror, so I expect this will see some play.
Intruiging. Even in the worst case secnario, this can give you one card, but I don't think this is a must include in midrange and control decks, as some may think. The body is nice, but the cost itself heavily reduces the potential stuff you can do, or just get more useful cards. You can obivously get junk - cheap, but the real challenge is incorporating the given stuff on the fly. On average, you'll get decent stuff.
On the other hand, this is a big fu to Plot Twist and Glide. You have this guy, and the opponent risks giving you value. Heck, this can easily cancel out a lot of Warlock stuff, including their Hero Power.
I don't exactly know which decks would run him yet. My mind thinks of trying to cheat him out, so stuff like Druid and Big Paladin. If I think more about it, this may not be as bad in Spell Druid, especially after the next rotation. The class can easily cheat out Alabaster as early as turn 5, and they also give him more protection through Ironbark and Bogbeam. The reward is great value, and if any of the cards received are spells, that can easily fuel Glowfly Swarm.
As I said under the DH Legendary card, hand advantage is not as impactful in Hearthstone, but this one can be continuous, so it can give you more information. Still not as big of an advantage, but you can definitely use some of the stuff stolen.
But gl surviving until that, which you probably should, but always be careful.
So what you're saying is....I get to play a 7 mana do nothing. C-cool. I guess.
This is a moist piece of trash. Only good if you're on even footing/ahead against a control deck that somehow doesn't have a way to remove this the very next turn. They're a control deck. They do. You get one random card from their deck, potentially at a discount, to make up for the fact you played this. At which point I have to wonder...wouldn't you be better off with essentially any discover card, so that you have actual control over what you get? And you wouldn't have to pay 7 for the privilege of getting a discount. You're paying extra...to get a discount. And you don't even get to take advantage of whatever you get until a turn later. IF it's even a thing you wanted in the first place. And that's in the ideal matchup. Against aggro or combo this might as well be a War Golem.
I'd not be generally too happy about this card, but its mana cost and being a good card in midragey style of deck (that need something like this) i think it is ok
It feels like every expansion gets insane aggro love, speckled with a few WOW cards for control/combo. I'd be ok with this being a balanced mix for all, so we can ALL have fun.
It's a good card, not overwhemingly powerful but it has nice stats and will mostly give you an extra card for you to play, now the value of that card is completly random. I hope I get this as my golden random legendary!
Historically, cheap cards that make cheap minions see play in constructed in one form or another.
Firefly was a staple in most decks that were either tempo, aggro or had elemental requirements until they rotated into Wild. Similarly Acorn Bearer and SpringPaw Lynx would see play in their respective classes decks as well.
So a buff spell that gives a minion +1/+1 in stats, makes a 1/1 token and adds a 1/1 token I believe will absolutely see play in constructed.
Druid loves using their buff spells on their tokens, and while they usually prefer AOE buff spells AoO gave Druid Ironbark, a 2 mana spell that gives +1/+3 and taunt and is free at 7 mana or more which has seen constructed play in nearly all Druid decks since that expansion launched, so it's not too hard to believe that Druid will find a use for this spell as well. Druids may also use their new spell Survival of the Fittest to make the tokens on the field and in hand 5/5 but that's a very slow option for aggressive Token decks.
Hunter's buffing tools are not quite as extensive as Druids, but AoO gave Hunter Hellboar, Scavengers Ingenuity and Scrap shot to make their beasts more powerful. And while Hunter would prefer to buff say King Krush, Zixor Prime or Augmented Porcupine, having Scrap Shot hit the beast token isn't terrible, as it makes a 1 mana 4/4 with a tribal tag relevant to Hunters for use of Kill Command, Houndmaster or even Starving Vulture if they need to.
At this time we've seen NONE of Hunter's specific class cards, I can only imagine they'll have another minion that benefits from being buffed or possibly from beasts that are summoned, I'm only speculating this synergy due to the cards ability.
I am in the camp of people that don't think this card will actually be that good. Getting cheap resources along side a well-statted body is nice, but most decks would rather run cards that further their own win conditions instead of this guy who might snag a card or two. I could see control decks run him as another way to generate resources, but don't think the card is as busted as some people are making it out to be.
Another fine addition to my Casino Mage deck. Otherwise, I'm pretty optimistic about this card. Worst case scenario you're getting a random 5-drop with with +2/+1. The pick secretly aspect will almost never be relevant, but the amount of stats spread across many bodies is likely good enough to make it see play. It won't be deck-defining or meta-breaking, but it will be a strong inclusion in a number of tempo-based decks.
This just gave me heartburn. Thinking about this in Wild give me hives. Deathrattles a plenty, and I can even see this making appearances in Odd Paladin to create more headache with Righteous Protector after it loses Divine Shield.
I can see quest hunter running this to help complete the quest sooner and give a slight bonus to a minion on the board for trade. I don't see this being used a lot outside of that. MAYBE highlander to give 3 effects for 1 mana.
You say Kappa, but the 1/1 copy still gets the Divine Shield, so it can at least turn a second big minion into a 3/2. You'd need the coin in order to play both Turalyon and Luminance in the same turn though.
Wow, a dual class card that actually fits both classes, and for completely different reasons, that's cool.
Rogue has bounce, mage has CC, and either of those can be played either on the 5 drop that you chose to die as soon as it takes damage or Jandice herself. There are also a few minions with taunt at 5 mana that would make killing the additional minion quite hard for anyone but mage. Even more than that, minions with deathrattles you would be ok with triggering...
I find it weird they chose to show the effect with two of the extreme low rolls you could get. If I were Blizzard, I'd show her summoning an Earth Elemental and a Waxadred or Convincing Infiltrator, but I guess we'll have to wait for the highlights for those.
This card seems really good in both classes. Both have good board-buffs for the tokens and the option to be fast can help a lot in some matchups. Still wanna know if they count as Treant and/or Totems, but we'll find out pretty soon.
I"m looking forward to the outcome. These events have started to become more and more interesting over the years. I'm hoping that there will be upsets though. I like it when the underdog rocks it
Only Mage deck i might say doesn't run this is Highlander since you'd want your cards to have a bit more of an impact, but that's only a maybe. By and large I expect to see this card in many deck lists.

Yeah, that's true, I guess I was imaging something you could set up for early, rather than a late game combo play, but these combos are totally valid.
