  • Transfer Student's Effect Changes Based on the Game Board - Here Are All the Effects!

While the RNG of Transfer Student is going to be frustrating, I think your complaint is a little misguided considering we're talking about Hearthstone. In fact, your statement, "The entire reason I won that match, is because we were on the DoD game board. I did not draw any other answer to that T7, and had we been on say the Uldum board, I would have lost" could be applied to any of the other RNG mechanics/cards that already exist.

For example, a Mage who hits Nagrand Slam off of Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron or What Does This Do? and wins the game from that card wouldn't have won the game if they didn't hit that card off of the Puzzle Box/Hero Power, and they certainly wouldn't have had an out like that normally since it's a Hunter card. Likewise, a [Hearthstone Card (Demon Hunter) Not Found] who discovers a second Metamorphosis from Vulpera Scoundrel and wins the game via the extra damage wouldn't have normally been able to put that many Metamorphosis's in their deck, but RNG'd them for the win.

I agree that the RNG in Hearthstone is becoming exhausting, but this has been the state of Hearthstone since Yogg. The issue isn't this card or this new type of RNG in my opinion, but rather that the devs seem to prefer chaotic, "fun" design over consistent, competitive design.

  • Diligent Notetaker

Great card but I think the Spellburst effect only happens once

  • Two New Cards Accidentally Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

Well there's Cobalt Spellkin, which also generates the new Nature Studies.

  • Scholomance Academy Arena Rotation - Remains Standard Format

I don't play Arena much but the mix-up of sets and a shorter cycle was definitely a pro for me. I hope they revisit the concept again someday.

  • New Druid/Shaman Spell - Lightning Bloom

Pre-nerf Innervate was great, so Lightning Bloom will be great. The overload probably isn't that important in Druid since you can ramp ahead of this and mitigate the overload, and in Shaman the overload may even be advantageous - turn 3 Cumulo-Maximus is a crazy tempo play.

  • Scholomance Academy Arena Rotation - Remains Standard Format

Woah the author of this post is a secret achievement!

  • New Mage/Rogue Minion - Wand Thief

Obviously a good card for Burgle Rogue, assuming Burgle Rogue is a playable archetype. But the problem lately with Burgle Rogue is less the ways to generate cards from another class and more the payoffs (today those payoffs are Bazaar Burglary, Underbelly Fence, and Vendetta, but the archetype needs more cards like Tess Greymane). Regardless, this is good enough that it may make running a "burgle package" in some other Rogue deck exciting.

It's kind of card to say whether this is useful for Mage, since they already do a great job generating resources. I suspect that it's not right now, because at the point that I'm doing spell combo shenanigans, I want to play Mana Cyclone, but I don't hate picking this card up from something like Dune Sculptor to make big chains of randomly generated cards.

  • Two New Cards Accidentally Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

Kael'thas needs a lot of cheap spells and card draw to be good. But if your deck has a lot of those, it probably doesn't have a lot of minions in it, which means the pay-off of casting the 10-mana spell won't be great. It could work perhaps if you have minions that generate cheap spells, but there aren't all that many of those for Druid in Standard at the moment (Banana Buffoon rotated).

  • Scholomance Academy

I know!! I just believe there are a couple of sites that had show their hard and professional work. And they can hint it without letting it know, just to ease everyone's job.

A similar thing happened when Blizz announced the Baku/genn rotation. They let some of this sites and streamers know, and that wasn't leaked.

  • Frazzled Freshman

A perfectly average card with loads of buff potential

  • Two New Cards Accidentally Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

Sure. That's assuming you got minions to play and then play this at the same time. Not many aggro decks can maintain a big enough hand to make use of this, one of the few reasons why Serrated Tooth never got anywhere. I'd rate Magic Carpet higher

One of the things that made Magic Carpet powerful is that you can just play it on 3 no problem. Can't do the same with broom. At late game carpet can help with removing tempo on board so your face worthy minions can do what they do upwards. The Broom does the same thing, but better, but with the caveat that it'll just be another 1/1 at the end. Carpet maintains its value and can effectively snowball. Broom can't.

Maybe its just me. But to me, the broom's only great utility here is in midrange decks, and will largely be just another goblin lackey 90% of the time. I doubt this can get anywhere while carpet is still in standard.

  • First Day of School

Insane value at such a low cost! Will be in every paladin deck except for odd baku paladin

  • New Shaman/Mage Spell - Devolving Missiles

Devolving Missiles is clearly crazy on a board with one large enemy minion, but given the incredibly high variance on the card when your opponent has multiple minions, I'm not sure you want this in the deck. The opportunity cost of it just seems a bit high. But, with all the resource generation in the game, I have no doubt you'll see it showing up through card generation effects and producing some pretty crazy results.

  • Goody Two-Shields

Just imagining a turn 9 where you send two of these out, pop them with the guy that buffs when divine shields pop and then cast a 1 mana secret. Pretty savage.

  • New Hunter/Druid Minion - Shan'do Wildclaw

I doubt Shan'do Wildclaw will be a necessary card for any given archetype, but it seems strong. She has nearly vanilla stats with two pretty good effects, so I expect she will see play.

Both effects seem very powerful in Hunter, and while they're less exciting for Druid, the ability to copy either Winged Guardian or Marsh Hydra on turn 10 is pretty sweet.

  • Nature Studies

Yet another great card for druid; pairs nicely with the card that reduces the cost of things you discover by 1.

  • Survival of the Fittest

Too costly, but would be an excellent finisher in Swarm Druid decks; essentially a double embiggen for 10 more mana.

  • Transfer Student

It's too unpredictable for ranked but probably a lot of fun otherwise

  • New Neutral Minion - Animated Broomstick

Can'T really tell if this is really broken or too gimmicky.

On one hand you look at cards like Houndmaster Shaw and Magic Carpet who have been historically very powerful despite the huge mana investment (that most often won't last longer than 1 or 2 turns). Then you take this which is the same but limited to a single turn only, but without any mana restrictions.

It might just be a valueable tech card for many decks that don't have strong single target removal. As long as you have someething to play you can turn it into a damage spell for just one more mana. It also works well with poisonous minions or those with effects upon attacking.

    Big Druid might want this.

  • Scholomance Academy

    Staff Pro

No plans on listing the dual-class cards twice. It would be a huge mess to do so and unlike Sinti's comment would have one believe, it would be easy to do. If there were only a handful of dual-class cards, that likely would have been the best option. With 40 of them though, that's a lot of extra scrolling length!

  • New Neutral Minion - Animated Broomstick

Clearly a very powerful battlecry, but the opportunity cost on this card might kill it. I'm not excited about top-decking this unless I have a clear way to generate a big board in the same turn. Seems similar in its purpose to Magic Carpet, but where Magic Carpet shines is in enabling you, turn over turn, to control the board with new minions while your old minions go face. A one-time effect is fine, but it's a lot less exciting, particularly with such a weak statline.

That said, In a metagame with a lot of aggro decks and a lot of aggro mirrors or midrange/aggro matches, this could be a great tech card to ensure you can control the board, and I do think this is card you'll be excited to see off of the new Paladin spell, First Day of School.
