  • New Paladin Minion - Goody Two-Shields

    Quote From Elfensilver

Seconding Starscreams question here: how often can you trigger the effect? And why is a paladin in a necromancy school?!

You can trigger it exactly once.

The fluffy answer to the second question is that they aren't at a necromancy school since the part of the school they are attending is teaching paladin/priest and paladin/warrior things, and has nothing to with necromancy. The mechanical answer is because they couldn't leave out every class that wouldn't use necromancy (which is nearly all of them).

  • Troublemaker

Strong contender for the most hated Arena card of the expansion.

  • Rattlegore

Start of Game: Force Big Warrior

  • New Priest Minion - Frazzled Freshman

This guys looks like Ron Weasley, doesn't he? With you from the beginning, somewhat simple but sturdy.

  • New Shaman/Mage Spell - Devolving Missiles

Must be sort of a ptsd issue imo.

  • Daily XP bonus - when does it reset? I did not get 400XP bonus for win today

    Hi.

As the title says, I played game this morning, as every morning, and to my surprise I did not get the bonus XP for win. Is it just me or did it happen to others? Is it a bug? Do you know at what time of the day is the bonus XP reset?

    Thanks.

  • Nerfs are Around the Corner! Our Thoughts on the Upcoming July Hearthstone Balance Changes

The only non-refunded one is regular Galakrond (Golden Galakrond, on the other hand, is eligible for dust refund).

  • New Paladin Spell - First Day of School

Is there a tempo-midrange paladin yet? Seems like this year's schtick.

  • New Paladin Minion - Goody Two-Shields

Seconding Starscreams question here: how often can you trigger the effect? And why is a paladin in a necromancy school?!

  • New Druid Spell - Nature Studies

Seems okay, but not great. Cost reduction + discover is always playable, but this is druid we are talking about, which has a mixed bag of spells. Primordial Glyph has a more consistent cardpool, Haunting Visions has a stronger effect and Shadow Visions has the best cardpool to dicover from.

It's nice to see that a deck gets support from several expansions, but I do not see it in anything but spell druid.

  • Shan'do Wildclaw

Together with Dinotamer Brann a potential 16 dmg. Combo.

  • Transfer Student's Effect Changes Based on the Game Board - Here Are All the Effects!

I don't like this card at all. This introduces a whole new dimension of RNG to an already RNG heavy game. We already have a lot of cards which add a significant amount of randomness to this game (discover, add random, cast random, etc.). Now the (random) board you are assigned will also have an effect. I was quite happy when the devs said that they will turn down the amount of randomness (i.e. discover) earlier and now they are adding this instead. Also this is not a meme card but will surely see play as some of the options are really good.

  • New Mage/Rogue Minion - Wand Thief

Strong for Burgle Rogue (which is itself quite weak tho), not so strong for Mage.

In Wild, QMage is already an extremely tight deck, and this card with its Combo requirement is in average no faster than Banana Buffoon or Primordial Glyph or Magic Trick, so it won't find room there.

  • Darkmoon Faire as Expansion 3 in 2020 - Is Blizzard Really Teasing us Hard or is it Deception? Old Gods?

Hearthstone 'lore' is just stories told in the tavern, rather than there being an alternate Azeroth where it actually happens. This was demonstrated very clearly in comics leading up to the Kights of the Frozen Throne expansion: a bard tells a story about the 9 basic heroes becoming death knights, but it doesn't actually happen even in the HS universe.

Essentially HS storytelling is like real films/books/TV shows/etc. that are "based on real life events": it is dramatised however the author likes and only needs to keep a tenuous link to the actual events. Also, these stories can be extended (e.g. what was done in the Year of the Dragon), or completely disconnected, but either way it is a fiction within the Warcraft universe.

My head-canon for the Scholomance expansion has a member of the Cult of the Damned telling the story in a way that makes it sound a LOT nicer than it actually was.

  • Scholomance Academy

    Hi @Fluxflashor

Are we sure that the pve adventure will be free? Because i didn't find official info about it.

I remember that when they announced Ashes of Outland they explicitly said the adventure would have been free:

Ashes of Outland is only the beginning. A new, totally free, solo adventure will be coming later in the expansion cycle! Illidan and the Demon Hunters will take the offensive against the Rusted Legion with the fate of Outland hanging in the balance yet again . . . stay tuned!

    https://playhearthstone.com/en-gb/news/23324071

With Scholomance Academy they only said that there will be a pve content.

    I miss something?

    Thank you, as always.

  • New Shaman/Mage Spell - Devolving Missiles

Every time a new card that transforms or summons a bunch of tokens for the enemy is revealed people go nuts with "fUcK rEz pRiEsT". Is that even a deck anymore? In wild it's shit now, only Raza is viable, and yeah it was a good archetype in standard last year but nowadays only galakrond and maybe highlander is good. So why do people still act like rez priest is a constant plague upon us all?

  • New Druid/Shaman Spell - Lightning Bloom

Giving shaman innervate is insane. I don’t think standard can abuse that, but wild has even shaman which was already tier 1. That archetype already has a few new tools, but this card is definitely the card to ner

  • Scholomance Academy is Hearthstone's Next Expansion! Here's Everything You Need to Know

We'll see how well they handled it, but it is possible to make dual class cards that do what both classes do already just with shared mechanics. E.g. Wand Thief adding a mage/non-rogue card is in line with what both classes do, while Lightning Bloom looks like a druid card plus overload, but actually perfectly embodies what the overload mechanic is: get something out early by paying for it next turn.

So long as they make cards that would be fine as mono class cards (ignoring things like combo, choose one and overload) it need not break class identity. Now I've said that, I bet there's a rogue/warrior card that gives you a ton of armour...

  • New Shaman Minion - Diligent Notetaker

    infinite MUTATE / EVOLVE !

  • New Druid/Shaman Spell - Lightning Bloom

Combo piece for swing turns or to get off your Overgrowth early. Also, Spellburst minions and Kael'thas Sunstrider LOVES 0-mana spells!

  • New Mage/Rogue Minion - Wand Thief

Burgle rogue support, yay!! Comparable to Pharaoh Cat, but probably better. You could easily squeeze her into most rogue wich is just fine by me.

  • New Shaman/Mage Spell - Devolving Missiles

Looks like a lot of fun to play vs deathrattle or buff decks. Could be used by a lot of Shaman/Mage decks.

    Also, F off R**s Priest!

  • New Neutral Minion - Transfer Student

I suppose it could be handy in some of the solo adventures, since you’d know what board it would be playing on?

  • Scholomance Academy is Hearthstone's Next Expansion! Here's Everything You Need to Know

That's my guess too. It looks like the dual class lengendaries will be the teachers, leaving the bosses from the WoW dungeon(s) to be mono class cards.

  • New Hunter/Druid Minion - Shan'do Wildclaw

The deckbuff seems kinda meh, unless a new beast hunter archetype is coming. But the copying effect is crazy, even more since we have cards at 7 mana like Dinotamer Brann and Winged Guardian.
