The weakest augmerchant, because spell damage is such a niche effect--even spell-heavy decks don't necessarily run a lot of spell damage. Think of it this way: is that extra spell damage worth the loss of one of the spells that you could otherwise stuff in your deck? Usually the answer is no.
But it'll be a fun find off of something like Jar Dealer or another 1-drop generator.
The flavor is on point, but I don't think it will be very good. It is too easy for your opponent to deal small amounts of damage to you so that this will only block 6-12 damage, which doesn't really seem that great.
Wrathguard is the obvious comparison. You could say that this one is more aggressively statted, though, given that it costs only one mana and you can roll a buffed version of this with either Shadow Council or with the awoken Imprisoned Imp.
Well the first version is strong, and the prime version is also very strong. There is not reason not to play this. It is just too versatile and powerful.
The augmerchants can easily be compared to Lackeys: 1-drop utility minions that give an effect that is arguably worth an additional one mana. Basically this one gives anything you want Rush at the cost of one additional mana and one less health. Beautiful.
This card cannot really be played in a zoo/midrange type deck because it is just too taxing on your board. But I do think this card has potential in either a control deck that doesn't play a lot of minions in the early game, or in an egg deck that wants its minions to die.
The best of the augmerchants, this guy is going to be everywhere: enabling trades, bolstering taunts, going face. You think a King Krush is a good late-game drop? How about with Divine Shield attached?
Is Draven so good ? A +1 attack as exchange of a card loss doesn't seem a real game changer ...
The trick with Draven is knowing when and when not to try to progress him. Sometimes, you want to just keep him as a 3/3 quick attack that generates axes--you never HAVE to play them. They make great Rummage targets. And as you see in the video: it does feel really bad when you spend an ax + card just to be denied progression. If you DO upgrade him all the way, though, he becomes a beast.
Edit: and I forgot, it's also nice to hold them in hand and just to be able to "threaten" using them--it means your opponent has to be cautious of any blocks were his unit survives at 1 HP.
I think blizzard finally knows what they are doing with the doing with the discard mechanic. They have Hand of Gul'dan that wants you to discard it, and this card that discards a specific card. When you mesh those two mechanics then you have a playable discard deck.
I am very interested to see what new discard cards they print in the future.
@anchorm4n - I agree with your own assessment in-that the Poisonous variant doesn't fit the flavor of Warrior very well. The Immune-while-attacking is fine, but it's also a colossal turn-7 play. I agree with Nirast: the stats of the Demon or the Attack of the weapon needs to be toned down; preferably both.
@Nirast - Me being the only one to bring it up must mean I'm right lol :P I like this more, in-part because you've removed the "Destroy a Beast" part of the Battlecry. I think that was my issue with the earlier incarnation.
@economicaooc - Stealth is not very Warrior-y, although I can understand the flavor-intention behind the card (he's big and boisterous until something goes wrong and then the ego goes *poof*). Rogue would be weird as well because they don't have any Taunt minions, so I'm not sure where this could "fit".
This is actually super cool. Out of all of the discard warlock stuff they have made, the cards that played themselves when they were discarded were always the best. And I think the stuff that discarded the lowest cost card in Rastakhans Rumble had a lot of potential, but you can't really mix those ideas as they are. Making the targeted discard cards target the highest cost card means that you can make cards that want to be discarded without making them super cheap.
Really neat, fun effect. Get some buffs on it and you can generate a lot of value. I guess Paladin and Shaman will make the best use of it through their hero powers.
I freaking love this. I don't think it will be that good, but it's such a neat idea and I think it will be fun to play. I hope it has a great voice line.
Draven's Quick Attack makes him fairly dangerous, but discarding is the point of this deck. Most of the cards you're throwing away have effects that trigger from discarding them. You also get closer to upgrading Jinx with every card you toss.
A nice card for handlocks. This could be the Demon cheating tool warlocks have been missing since Possessed Lackey got nerfed. I am glad Mountain Giant got sent to the Hall of Fame so that we can have cool cards like this.
Reminds me of Voidlord. It is a large demon with Taunt that summons another demon with a defensive ability when it dies. With this and the new prime, control warlocks will have a nice finisher.
Why are they printning this card again? Just to mess with the Discover pool?
Or because Blizzard tries to force some totemsupport all the time? I dont see when this card is usefull, maybe in wild with that silly 2 mana 3/4 totem, that could be decent but lot really great I guess.
Hey, mods! How's your day going. Sorry if this isn't the right spot but I was wondering if you could feature an article regarding an upcoming charity stream. It's a gigantic tournament featuring 4 card games, 2 of witch (MTGA and Runeterra) are pretty big on the site. I have no stakes in this, they're just a channel I enjoy watching and I think they deserve more publicity. More info here.
If I don't respond to this thread right away, it's probably because I went to sleep, since I'm writing this late at night. Because I'm an idiot.
I mean, random cards are random cards. There isn't much to say about this, it is just bad. If nothing else this is a more playable meme card than something like Transmogrifier or Wyrmrest Purifier.

New Neutral Minion - Guardian Augmerchant
The best of the augmerchants, this guy is going to be everywhere: enabling trades, bolstering taunts, going face. You think a King Krush is a good late-game drop? How about with Divine Shield attached?
Everywhere. You're gonna see this guy everywhere.

New Warlock Minion - Enhanced Dreadlord
A bit slow, but huge value. I'll give it a try.
Our Thoughts on Hearthstone's Ashes of Outland Druid Cards
I didn't know I needed a Fires of Pompeii reference on this site, and then one happened. Thank you
New Warlock Minion - Kanrethad Ebonlocke
Meh. Use Expired Merchant to duplicate the Prime and maybe it's good enough to run. I'm not convinced.
New Neutral Minion - Replicat-o-tron
Really neat, fun effect. Get some buffs on it and you can generate a lot of value. I guess Paladin and Shaman will make the best use of it through their hero powers.

New Neutral Minion - Bonechewer Brawler
Im thinking it could work out in some priest deck with their buffs. Its the first class that comes to mind when I see this card.
I dont think it will work well in a warrior deck, the health is too low.
New Neutral Minion - Scrapyard Colossus
Very big pile of Taunt Stats, but expensive and weak to single-target removal.
New Neutral Minion - Supreme Abyssal
It's a worse Icehowl, and no one played that card. Sure, it's bigger, but it doesn't Rush. I'll be okay evolving into this, but I won't put in a deck.
New Warlock Spell - The Dark Portal
A nice card for handlocks. This could be the Demon cheating tool warlocks have been missing since Possessed Lackey got nerfed. I am glad Mountain Giant got sent to the Hall of Fame so that we can have cool cards like this.
