  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Metamorphosis

Much needed in Aggro DH, and probably Midrange too.

Yup, only Ashes of Outland. If it is on the Ashes of Outland guide page, it is in the giveaway. It is less confusing with the DH sets excluded.

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Metamorphosis

Very cool and flavorful card for DH. Fits in perfectly to their lore and even WoW game play mechanics. I hope this card gets moved to the classic set that DH will eventually get, coz this type of card isn't that over powered and it's just a very cool design.

Random Fact: This skill use to be a Warlock skill pre-legion WoW expansion. One of the main reasons why my main was a lock back in MoP days

  • Mulligan system

    Quote From Almaniarra

It is mostly same with all of digital card games.

In MTG, it is a bit different. You draw 7 cards, if you don't like them, put all of them to your deck and draw new 6, you can mulligan it again but draw 5 cards and 4 and 3 and 2 and 1 same with physical version. After a bit they changed that system for digital version (MTG:A) but i left the game so really don't remember how they changed it.

Btw, When you mulligan, it doesn't give the same card to you, it gives another copy of it I believe and only Highlander decks can protect you from this kind of situation which are the decks that you can only put 1 copy of a card to your deck which isn't really a thing and supported in Runeterra.

Mulligan has its own balance in my opinion. It is same for your opponent too and if there is no RNG factor in card games, it won't be so different than chess-like games and in those games, all players are equal and shares same resources which isn't valid for card games. In card games, like you said in your OP, there are archetypes as Aggro, Control, Combo, Midrange. If mulligan and card drawing RNG are not in games, most of the games will be same and you will know that you will win or lose when you face a countering archetype so you will basically concede at turn 1 which will cause game to death, I mean, noone will continue to play that game. Mulligan and drawing is all same in card games. Some card games like Pokemon TCG has some tools to abuse it. There is a card in Pokemon TCG for example, put cards in your hand to deck and makes you draw same amount. That game's system let's you do that and that abuse doesn't really matter because of its system but it will matter in games like Runeterra and Hearthstone. Btw, There is also a card in Hearthstone as Plot Twist, but in Pokemon TCG, there is a different system with trainer cards etc. so you don't spend same resource for playing that card like Hearthstone. There is a different system which might confuse you more right now and takes some time because i need to explain whole system here to make you understand but there is no point for doing that. :D

So, in my opinion, In games like Runeterra, Hearthstone and MTG:A, this card draw and mulligan system is a must that lets archetypes help to recover in rough situations sometimes because of bad mulligan of your opponent.

That being said, any deck that has god-draw and mulligan can beat any deck. That is true mostly and here comes mulligan and RNG on card draws to balance it.

These are half my opinions and half some explanations. I hope you understand my explanations and the points of my opinions. You don't need to embrace them tho. :)

About the MTG Mulligan Change it works kinda as it did before just that you draw always 7 cards and chose which cards to be placed under your deck, making it less awkward to deal with landscrew/flood

    Here we go!

Well, at the end of the day, I am pretty excited about DH and many new legendaries.

In particular, I'm in love with the Zangarmarsh theme that entirely covers Shaman and Druid, so perfectly packed!

And with the new rarity protection, I may actually spend some more time with Standard decks.

  • Ashes of Outland Giveaway - Card Packs & Site Cosmetics

Just to clarify, this only includes the actual OUtland expansion and not the Demon Hunter Basic or Initiate set, right?

I'm just gonna vote this time don't feel like making all the reviews again. Good luck to all!

OR the more likely situation, some of you have just been unlucky in your awarded quests lately.

Certainly I'm careful not to claim my personal experiences are statistically valid proof of anything, but I've seen a marked and clear change since the patch, and not just on 1 account but all 3.

That and this thread posted about the same issue at the same time here, and one on another well known HS forum with similar experiences.

I'm currently concluding the 50 v 60 bias has been changed deliberately, a state which may or may not have been the intention all along.

I'm more than prepared to be wrong though (and hope I am).

Priestess I won't conede purely on the basis of Voodoo Doctor and Earthen Ring Farseer. Compared to those two she just flops hard. I guess making her a 4/4 would work too, however, in terms of stats, she is worse than the previous two because she can't heal minions, meaning that she should, in theory get above average stats. Also 5/4 is oveall weaker than 4/5 in terms of board impact.

"Big healing" is a class feature for Priest, which is why you see more flexible small healing in neutrals than you do big healing. The comparisons to Voodoo Doctor and Earthen Ring Farseer makes some sense, but you yourself pointed out that the rules differ between low and high cost neutrals (at least when it comes to splitting stats). This is just another example where a neutral card is intentionally weak to make room for class identity/differentiation.

fair enough, I guess 5 healing on a neutral card would be too much for the Classic set, but the mana-cost is still basically unacceptable and needs to go down to at least 5 (or the statline needs to go up to like 5/5(

Some immediate thoughts on the neutrals:

Dragonling Mechanic: I think your basic theory around splitting across bodies is based too heavily on what class cards do. Some examples include Shrubadier is slightly above vanilla, Sky Claw is vanilla but includes a buff, Duskbat is a little over vanilla). But class cards are supposed to be stronger than neutral cards. Murloc Tidehunter is vanilla, Razorfen Hunter is vanilla. This choice to buff just seems pretty arbitrary.

Silvermoon Guardian: If this card were a Scarlet themed card, I'd agree with your change, but as the two cards are not thematically related, I think the 3/3 statline is fine here.

Priestess of Elune: Your recommendation here amounts to bundling two basic cards (Chillwind Yeti and Radiance) for exactly the cost of both. There are two big problems with this - first, Priest is supposed to be the best at healing, and having healing tools that are equal (or better) than Priest's takes away from that identity. Second, bundling needs to cost some tax because if it doesn't, playing the bundled card in place of the other two is basically like getting a free card slot in your deck.

I was going off something like Silver Hand Knight

Below 3-mana neutrals (and even class cards) don't really follow these rules (for instance the Beast tax only kicks in at 3-mana). Also Tribal minions like the Murloc usually come with a mana tax anyways.

The Silvermoon thing is mostly preference based because it seems kind off pointless to have two cards with the same attack value and DS, but one comes with added health. It can see your point there.

    Quote From DoubleSummon

You do not draw the same card but a copy if you have it.

This. As long as you're running 3 or even just 2 copies of the same card and ditch one of them from your opening hand, there's a chance you'll draw another copy of the same card. Which is only right as far as I'm concerned. I mean, in a purely digital card game, it would of course be possible to lock all other copies of the mulligan'd card out of the drawing pool, but I feel that would be a weird and inconsistent special rule. If you pack 3 copies of a card into your deck, your chances of drawing one of those at any given point drastically increase (in comparison to 2-ofs or 1-ofs) - for better or for worse.

Is it possible to have the tokens or cards like the Prime be displayed when I hover over the base card? Especially for cards like Quests' rewards and such. It would be very helpful to see and read.

  • Our Thoughts on Hearthstone's Upcoming Demon Hunter Basic Set

Your predictions are duly noted. Here's my prediction: within 1 week of full release, someone will have figured out an effective counter to demon hunter, and will skyrocket up the ladder to high legend due to so much of the meta being full of demon hunters. Others will also start countering DH. After another week, things will balance out to basically normal levels, and DH will have roughly the same share of the meta as any other deck.

  • Standard Meta Report #28 - Top Hearthstone Decks March 22, 2020 - March 29, 2020

Thanks for the report. I am excited to see how a Leeroy-less meta shakes out.

  • Bug- gettign 50 gold quests

To reiterate what frenzy already said, it was never guaranteed that you would start with 60g quest or better.  It just seemed very common that people got a 60g quest to start.

It is possible this was happening more than intended, and perhaps they adjusted the algorithm to give more 50g quests.  OR the more likely situation, some of you have just been unlucky in your awarded quests lately.  That or I’ve been very luck as I personally have seen no change in 60g quest frequency, or in reroll potential of 50g quests when I get them

  • Bug- gettign 50 gold quests

I have been seeing the same thing with more 50g quests. Today I rolled a 50 into a 50. First time that happened since the change. I hope this is not the new normal.

  • New Warrior Spell - Corsair Cache

While this is obviously very good for Pirate Warrior, I'm not as convinced as others here that it will be inherently oppressive.

First, the addition of Demon Hunter as a Weapon Class (and the near certain odds of tons of DHs on day one of the meta) means weapon removal will be at an all-time high. Second, Warrior doesn't have a ton of card draw, especially in aggro variants (which is a big part of why Ancharrr is so good), so you can't afford to draw "blank cards" when you need your finishers. To avoid having this turn into a "blank card," you need to run several weapons. That, in turn will decrease the odds of playing Corsair Cache into Ancharrr.

  • Golden Duplicate Protection?

Duplicate protection will check the following:

    • Do you have at least two copies of a (non-Legendary) card, across non-golden and golden?
      • If not, you will open non-golden or golden copies until you own two.
      • If you do, you won't open any more copies until you've collected two copies of every card of that rarity in that set.

Once you own at least two of every card in the set, there is a second check in place.

    • Do you own two non-golden copies of a card?
      • If not, you will open copies of that card until you have two non-golden copies.
      • If you do, you won't open any more copies until you've collected two non-golden copies of every card of that rarity in that set.
    • Do you own two golden copies of a card?
      • If not, you will open copies of that card until you have two golden copies.
      • If you do, you won't open any more copies until you've collected two golden copies of every card of that rarity in that set.

So the game gets you to two of every card first, then fills in the gaps in your non-golden and golden collections. Of course, the rates are still the same on finding those cards in packs. Once you own two of every card in a set at that rarity, subsequent pulls will be completely random (even if you disenchant cards).

  • Bug- gettign 50 gold quests

Today I got my first 60g quest without rerolling and another one when rerolling. I start to believe that the previous state of receiving only 60g was the anomaly...
