Between the two trials, the one with the most wins determines your rewards. A full 7 wins constitutes the "break-even-point" as you'll receive 3,000 shards, which is the exact entry fee for an expedition. Of course, you'll receive a champion card and some other stuff (a Diamond Chest, I blieve?) on top of that if you reach 7 wins. In that case, the only thing that the 2nd trial will give you is extra bonus XP.
Nope. I don't know when, but the roadmap of the year of the phoenix says "duplicate protection" and it's after some events that aren't in the game yet. So safe your packs and be patient. :)
OK, so Blizzard expedited the process with their announcement of The Darkness no longer appearing in random transformations; essentially they played Stowaway (not advisable against The Darkness BTW!).
Anyway, I'd like people to imagine the perfect comment, and how it puts a smile on everyone's face, even stirring respect and envy from those who disagree with it (let's call such people 'opponents'). Then, with it standing majestic before you, it is shot down, stunned, utterly disrespected and stabby stab stabbed to death.
But things with so much build up rarely pay off. Sometimes the anticipation is more interesting than the end result, and the midst of reveal season is the perfect time to make that point. The Darkness isn't good competitively, but it is nevertheless one of the coolest cards in Hearthstone, and can make a game feel interesting for both players even when it flops hard.
Oh my. Now Rogues have indeed become a secret class. And the RNG is strong in this one.
Now? They became a secret class since C&C Set, so its only natural that blizzard adds other secrets, because 3 secrets in wild are way too few to use it. :D
So I played some more and used my first expedition token last night.
I ended up going 3 wins on my first trial. My final loss was to a guy who had Ashe and a TON of frostbite synergy to the point that I couldn't do anything against him.
I drafted my 2nd trial with Shen and Thresh. Not sure how good it's gonna be but it has a lot of "revive" synergy in it.
What's a good number of wins for each trial? It looks like 12 wins is the total between both trials? So I'm assuming 7 wins is the "break even" point? (Is it similar to Hearthstone where if you get 7+ wins you essentially can re-buy an arena/expedition?)
You don't always lose rating, it's only when everyone is of a lower skill level than you. However I do believe that blizz should make it that you at least get 0 rating for 1st place.
I am just going to copy what I said in the reveal article.
Compare this card to Siamat, it is the same mana cost and it still has rush, you are only losing one keyword to replace the card in your hand. Plus it isn't a battlecry which makes it a lot better with Strength in Numbers. Plus, now we have the new dormant demon who can make this sucker cost 2, or the 8 mana minion cost 3.
This is probably one of the best 7 drop minions to play right on curve, it is proactive and big. Plus you have to consider that this is not just a single card, this is a whole archetype for druid. Embiggen druid was a thing for a while and then slowly crept away, but it isn't a bad deck. If the meta is right, I think Big Druid will be a powerful deck.
Old LoL player who currently plays Hearthstone. How is Runeterra different?

Holy moly this is the best thing I have ever read about Hearthstone. That's what I think about it. :D
The Darkness

Shadowjeweler Hanar is a new Rogue Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Ashes of Outland Expansion
They're both.
They started from secrets, and used the colors and board appearence to depict them as Gems (which is not obvious).
At that point it was even too easy to use a Draenei character as both the Jeweler and the Thanos ref.

I'm pretty sure the gems are just a reference to the colors of the Secrets for the other classes.

New Paladin Weapon - Underlight Angling Rod
Are they trying to push murloc pala even more? Also with the dragon that gives divine shields to all your murlocs from the DoD exp.
I like the stats and if murlocs become a thing, this wep will see play. Otherwise - its just nerfed fiery win axe with a bonus.

Anyway, Thief Rogue stays playable in Standard with good Tempo cards.
