well looks like I will have to decide which I like more... Thing is I never play Arena so the Tickets are worthless to me. I almost play no standard as of late and despite my huge backside from my 5300k MMR in Battlegrounds to the sucky 4300 Im back too I still love battlegrounds a lot.
Guess since it doesnt take affect till when Ashes drops, maybe by then things with the Virus will be over enough I will be working full time again :(
In terms of Balance, they seem to take a slow and steady approach, so you shouldn’t give up hope yet. I’m sure if SI and elusives remain a problem they’ll nerf more cards
It's a fairly high price if you play game modes other than Battlegrounds, where you'd be using the cards from those card packs. To those players, the perks were essentially free.
It looks to me like this is just a way to make money. From what i can tell is that the pass will reset with every expansion cycle and you will have to re-purchase it to get the perks again.
"With the release of Ashes of Outland, we’re introducing the Tavern Pass—an all-new way to access Perks for Battlegrounds. Available for $19.99 or 2500 Gold, the Tavern Pass includes four Arena Tickets and the following Battlegrounds Perks for the duration of the Ashes of Outland expansion cycle: advanced stats, visual emotes, a third and fourth hero to choose from at the start of a game, and early access to new Battlegrounds Heroes (subject to the release schedule of new Heroes)."
The wording from Blizz isn't the easiest but I believe those that don't buy the pass will lose the advanced stats and 3-4 hero selection and other stuff once the expansion drops.
I'm not surprised that they're trying to monetize Battlegrounds as it's very popular but the price of the pass is surprisingly high.
High?
It gets rid of the necessity of buying 30 packs to unlock all the perks - 30 packs is 3000 gold, so this is already 500 gold less.
You ALSO get four Arena tickets - At 150 a pop that 600 gold, so that's 1100 gold savings right there, which means the perks themselves are ONLY 1400 gold.
How the hell can you even consider this high priced?
Tell me how hype are you about the Wild card revert changes :

What are you looking forward to play / play against in wild ? some big spell deck ? some spell hunter ? Razakus priest perhaps ? but what about... THE NEW-OLD YOGG-POGG BABYYYYY !!!
I'm playing Yogg Jade druid atm, and it's a fucking blast, rank 5 - don't care about winning - games are fun AF
Also : new ladder system coming and no more duplicates commons, rares and epics with new expansion makes a happy meee ~!
Way overpriced. Don't like to have only 2 options of heroes? Pay 20 bucks a month. Will this sneaky move manage to slip by amidst tons of hype? Or do we expect backlash?
It looks like we got another at least partial reveal from the press release videos: Imprisoned Antaen. It's a 5 mana minion that deals something after awakening (probably some amount of damage, maybe AOE?). Again, I believe this is fair to share as it was in the press release videos. It says that players "no longer have to purchase card packs" which makes me believe that the option to obtain perks via card packs is still there. I can't confirm that, however.
I do know that the Tavern Pass comes as an addition to the Mega Bundle.

Edward has never been a problem. With Poly and Hex and Silence and other ways to kill minions with ease, even if a rogue burns our whole hand on some massive 12-12 or 16-16 Edward, the number of ways to remove him from the board alone prove his not such a issue to need HoF'ed unlike Leeroy.
Well, he didn't exaggerate after all. This stream really blew my mind.
All in all, I can't find words for how deeply impressed I am. These are huge improvements and I will gladly keep throwing my money at Blizzard for quite some time.
What do you guys think about the news?
Took the words right out of my mouth (except for the throwing money at blizzard part). I am just flabbergasted at all of this new stuff, and I am SUPER excited that the new class and expansion will all be playable within the next 3 weeks!!!
My brother returned from a 3 year hiatus b/c of Battlegrounds, and has no intention of playing Standard. This is a package designed for him and any other players that don't find value in the collectible nature of HS, but enjoy the Arena/Battleground experience.
So, can we still get the emotes, stats, and 3 heroes if we don't get the pass? Or does the pass come with extra emotes and extra stats and heroes? Cause I don't want them to start monetizing something that was already free to begin with.
20 bucks for this? They're completely crazy, I'm not going to spend so much just for Battleground, even if I like it very much. Playing with choosing from only 2 heroes sucks, so maybe I'm not going to play at all. Such a piece of bad news between so many awesome stuff

If you cant get the perks for battlegrounds by buying packs,
well there goes my battlegrounds experience. I dont think its remotely possible to be engaged to both standard and battlegrounds. Just too expensive.
Introducing the Hearthstone Battlegrounds Tavern Pass - New Emotes, Choose From Four Heroes, Advanced Stats
If I understand this correctly, this seems like a total ripoff to have to repurchase the tavern pass every expansion.
