Wonder how it'll work. Would it be just the same system without the ranked numbers? Would it be an ELO-based system? Hopefully there will be clarity over how to rank up.
The elusive new Handlock support now that Giant got yeeted. I don't really see this being a thing. If you want to play it immediately the discount is negligable, so it makes most sense to play this as a set up for future turns, in which case I have to ask why we don't just play the minion striaght up.
Maybe there's some weird combo involving select minions and Plot Twist for consistency, but I have no idea what that would be (if you say Malygos I'll punch you in the face)
I did not expect that they'd actually do it and HoF Leeroy. Yeah, he's pretty strong, but damn, Aggro is gonna suffer from that.Spellbreaker is also pretty surprising. Mind Control Tech is probably the 2nd most hated Card on that List, People wanted to see this Guy go for quite some Time now.
Pretty good I think. Shaman has enough draw to get to this in a timely fashion and a decent spell damage minion is never unwelcome. The main question is whether there are enough good Shaman spells for a Control Shaman list to work.
More likely it's something they aren"t ready to reveal. The first time we saw the image the first green one was locked. Now it say Demon Hunter class there.
Old LoL player who currently plays Hearthstone. How is Runeterra different?
Short answer: its better in every conceivable way. :-P
Ok, ok, trying to be serious:
It's WAY more F2P friendly. You get the equivalent of 6-9 packs from vaults and then let's say another ~4 packs + legendary from region rewards + expedition rewards every week for ~5 hours playtime. Cash is mostly for cosmetics, although of course it does help accelerate your collection if you're impatient. I'm probably at ~60% of the collection right now 8 weeks in and I haven't spent a dime.
It's much more strategic, much less RNG. Every little decision matters.
Riot is committed to making very single card viable (although not necessarily top-tier), which is impressive. Compare to HS e.g. when Galakrond Shaman was too powerful it just got nerfed into oblivion, meanwhile archetypes like Chavala and Hack the System are totally forgotten after Week One.
Getting to float mana between turns is huge--it turns an experience that just feels awful in HS to a powerful catchup opportunity in LoR.
Things are reactive. Where as in HS, if you put something like an emperor or Brann out its almost guaranteed to get killed before your next turn, in LoR you can actually react to your opponent's removal with your spells to counter--and then he can counter back--etc. It's a bit like if you could actually control when a trap goes off instead of being forced to trigger it whenever the game decides.
This will be debatable, but I'd say its easier to go off-meta. Every week on reddit someone will hit top-10 and share a decklist which looks very different from anything else I've seen.
Honestly, man: if you've got a couple of hours, install it and give it a whirl. What do you have to lose?
Show Spoiler
…Besides hours of your life as you get hopelessly addicted to this fantastic game, of course.
This time it actually looks playable. Basically a 2-mana cobra, which is great value. Quite similar to Rat Trap actually since it really deters your opponent from making optimal plays.
This could be the only secret for Rogue and it would still see play because the "hidden" aspect is almost entirely irrelevant.
Some of those :spell locked" slots could still be some sort of solo content. But yeah, hopefully cheaper despite more cards per set now... At least I assume there will be more than 135 anyway with the new class. Duplicate protection helps with that some.
I don't believe in this mechanic whatsoever. spending 3-mana to do nothing only to get a benefit 2 turns later just seems ridiculously slow. There've been better cards that haven't seen play for this exact reasons. 2-damage is especially insulting. For this condition it would have to be 3 at least. Only perplexingly slow token decks will be punished by this, everyone else just plays around it. I mean ffs, we can't even play Doomsayer without Freezes these days, how would this be any different.
Also, Demons for every class, Sac Pact will be nerfed soon :^)
Alright, so Leeroy Jenkins finally gets the boot. Will be missing you.
The biggest change has got to be Acolyte of Pain. But given that this card papers over weaknesses of certain classes, I guess its gotta happen at some point. Control decks have been relying on this for draw for ages. This being moved on allows the devs to better design control decks for certain classes.
Mountain Giant moving on should be elementary considering that dhunters and druid cant deal with big minions. Imagine this staring down at dhunters turn 3-4, or after a board clear. A bit sad to see him go, considering that getting mountain giant to work in decks is literally a creative feature in deck building.
hey look, a Mage card that isn't a Mage card, but probably a Mage card anyways.
Ray of Frost makes this pretty nuts....even more so in Cyclone builds (which will desperately need it now that Elemental Evocation bounced). remember that this can proc multiple times in a turn...with Sorcerer'S Apprentice and a few random spells that could get out of hand fast.
Quest Druid also might be able to use this quite well seeing how Innervate and Invalid Deck ID and Invalid Deck ID are common in those decks.
Rogue could in theory do some sick combos with Prep, Backstab and Sprint, but I don't think they're desperate for card draw at the moment.
Every other class just seems a bit too memey at the moment. You can't really build an entire deck aorund a legendary that can't be tutord and pretty much only gives you a one-time tempo play requiring 4 pieces at least.
No, you will gain dust equal to the maximum amount of dust value of the card you can put into your deck. So for a golden legendary, that is 3200 dust. If you have a golden AND a normal version, you still *only* get 3200 dust.
If you need another example: if you have 2 normal and 1 golden copy of Mountain Giant, you will get 400 (for the normal card) + 1600 (for the golden card) = 2000 dust, because you are able to put two mountain giants into a deck.
New Warrior Minion - Kargath Bladefist
Pretty much no reason not to run this in just about any Warrior deck (especially Galakrond)
a decent turn 4 that's always a good draw later on and especially valuable in a face race. Thank god Town Crier rotates.

Too inconsistent for any degenerate OTKs though.

For all the power increase the new cards give, for all the buffs the old cards get, without ol' Northshire Cleric, all remains silent.
I'll be missing this card the most. With Acolyte of Pain moving on too, I guess priest will genuinely have a problem drawing cards now.
