To be clear - the reason 'skill' exists is simply because it's an effect they want to be Deny-able but which is not a spell. Don't read anything further into it than that.
Daryl is my most successful hero and I never play "normally" - I want tokens first pick if I can and then focus on buying-selling to buff the best buff-target for each tavern round (divine shielded, best base stats, useful effect, whatever). I tier up only if I've spare gold I can't use otherwise or ahead of playing a triple. I don't refresh until I've either bought all the minions or I really need to find triples to improve my board (which can be the sticking point late and make the difference between a 3rd/4th or a 1st/2nd). Try and keep 6 buffed minions and a 7th "battlecry" slot as long as you can - but sooner or later you need to fill it with a buffed minion most times.
The only drawbacks with this style I'd say are that, though you win most rounds, you do very little damage to your opponents and, as noted, you can get stuck with a board that isn't going to be good enough late on but that you struggle to improve without triples (and of course even then your triple finds aren't particularly powerful as you as low tier).
Mobile is already out, but it can only be downloaded from Singapore servers, for both Android and iOS. There is a thread on Legends of Runeterra sub-reddit. Game works great on my Samsung Galaxy A20 and it is mediocre phone. Only problem is each game takes around 12mb of data, so be careful.
I can empathize with your confusion to an extent, but to me, this is very much how I'm used to things working in other CCGs. I agree with YouPrivateNightmare that it would make skill-triggering units far too weak overall (especially ones with low health).
Are we able to submit tokens? I’m trying to press “add another card” to my submission but it’s not doing anything. I’m on mobile btw
I don't know if that was your submission, but man, that Putricide card is awesome! Shouldn't it be "minions" instead of "minion" though? Nevermind, 5 stars from me.
Would be a good guess, I mostly play mobile and Deyrl is almost unplayable for me as I just dont have enough time on the turn to buy and sell all the minions needed.
I won't lie, I'm a little disappointed with this implementation. Every card that was nerfed between last time and now has not been given a brawl-exclusive unnerfed version. That covers a fairly large number of cards, from Barnes to Dr. Boom Mad Genius. It's kinda lazy.
They are continuing to evaluate card animations and are it is decided by the players and not random effects.
I feel as dense as a stump, I'm not understanding what you're meaning by this line. So the players are deciding how fast animations should be per card rather than a random number generator? Reading the "Animation speed and input blocking" section didn't clear it up for me.

My idea for this competition (author of the image: George REDreev, found here):
Flavour: You're gonna pay or face my furry.
Vanilla stats for the cost since the card affects both players. This is a tech card useful against both:
