Sounds like a bug. I expect what's happening here is that Lux checks for progress updates when spells resolve, but that there are only really two cases where LoR considers the spells resolved:
Burst spells resolve immediately
All other spells resolve with the stack
So, rather than check after every spell on the stack, Lux checks once the stack is done. This loses your extra progress. If you had instead had something like Purify as your means of removing barrier, I think this would have worked exactly as intended and won you the game.
i just had a situation where smart ordering of spells would have granted me lethal with Lux' Final Sparks, but the expected behaviour did not occur, leaving me quite frustrated, since i cannot rely on simple logic to solve complex game states in order to win games.
This was the scenario:
Opponent: attacks with 4 (barriered) units and plays judgement against my blockers. He is at 4 health and 0 mana. After blocking, i would survive his attack. 2 of his barriered units had 2 health (so 2 sparks could kill his Nexus if done correctly).
Me: Lux on board, at 4/6. Spells in hand: Single Combat (2), Deny (4) and Twin Disc (3). I have enough mana to play them all.
So my idea for lethal was the following:
- one of his barriered 2-health units is blocked and will survive the attack
- the other barriered 2-health unit is unblocked and will survive the attack as well
- cast Single Combat on one of his barriered units, this will make my Lux progress go to 6/6, giving me the first Final Spark
- cast Deny against his Judgement, this will then bring my Lux progress from 0/6 to 4/6
- cast Twin Disc on some shit to make my Lux progress go to 6/6 again, giving me the second Final Spark
- after the attack, cast both Final Sparks in his 2-health units for lethal (4 health Nexus)
The Spell Stack (from left to right) looked the following:
1. my Single Combat (played AFTER Deny)
2. my Deny against Judgement (played BEFORE Single Combat)
3. his Judgement, being denied
So in theory, the order of spell execution should be correct, right?
- Single Combat is executed first, updating my Lux's progress to 6/6 and giving me a Final Spark.
- Then Deny is executed, updating the progress from 0/6 to 4/6
But what actually happened was that my Lux's progress somehow was at 0/6 after both spells were executed, not at 4/6 as expected.
Is this a bug? Or is there some behaviour that i missed or dont know?
Good points! My thinking was Kronx would provide another 5 damage board clear to annoying your opponent even more! Galakrond still kills one minion and provides resources in longer matches. However, tryout 2 PW:S and let me know how it goes!
My first idea. Strong minion that can't really go face that easily. You can use it to counter taunts too, giving taunt to untaunted minions, letting you bypass enemy taunts to kill dangerous stuff like Kel'Thuzad. Would be a neat Battlegrounds card too.
Right now I'm at rank 11 in both wild and standard. This is usually my ceiling but occasionally I've moved into the rank 6 to 10 bracket. Lately I've been playing secret mage in wild and face hunter in standard since the decks are pretty inexpensive.
Have you got the full basic set? If not, I found playing Arena a great way to learn and build my collection up. Although they say "7 wins is infinite", I believe that 3 wins is good value. So, if you can go 3-3 in arena, spend your gold on arena instead of packs.
Don't disenchant anything, unless you really want to build a deck immediately. Not even extra cards. Wait for nerfs/upgrades and disenchant at full cost. I've been doing that with the the recent Shaman nerfs - eg: I had 6 Invocation of Frost. Small change to some, but makes the difference for me. Been playing casually for 1 year and am at rank 4 with a tier 1 deck. But, I only play 5 or 6 hours a week.
This looks fun, and I've been hoping to make Galakrond Priest work. But this isn't really Galakrond Priest, is it? You have no invokers (which is smart, because you don't want to resurrect random minions), so why run Galakrond at all? He kills one enemy minion and gains you 5 armor. Then you get to play Kronx, which is pretty good, but is that enough for those 2 card slots? I'd cut Galakrond and Kronx and add some draw, like Power Word: Shield maybe.
I think its Medivh, Lunara, and Morgl who got stoned. You can see Morgl's horn and beard druid kind of looks like Lunara and the guy in front has Medivh's shoulder pads and frame, and not really something super to go off of but the dryad also has Lunara's breastplate or something similar. I have no idea how any of them are related to this event though.
To be fair, HS has improved A LOT in terms of communication with their players; but since their interaction was basically zero before, I don't know how much of an "improvement" this really is : /
Are we able to submit tokens? I’m trying to press “add another card” to my submission but it’s not doing anything. I’m on mobile btw
I don't know if that was your submission, but man, that Putricide card is awesome! Shouldn't it be "minions" instead of "minion" though? Nevermind, 5 stars from me.
Not mine, but yes that is an awesome card that got another 5 stars from me. And I guess tokens do work, I’ll have to play around with the submission to get it to work for me
Okay we haven't heard anything from the riddle-poster in a week at this point - I'm voting to call it and open the round back up for whoever wants it. Agree/Dissent?

[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)
Here's one that's THREE cards that all have a common link
A & B are green (but different) & Wild
B & C fiddle with the future
A & C are unnatural
All three have a 3

Sorry for the delayed answser, it was a bit crazy on my side with the virus and kids at home.
The card was Bog Creeper - there refences were to his flavour text, the BioShock imagery and being good in Arena.

Strange Lux Spell Progress Behaviour
Hi,
i just had a situation where smart ordering of spells would have granted me lethal with Lux' Final Sparks, but the expected behaviour did not occur, leaving me quite frustrated, since i cannot rely on simple logic to solve complex game states in order to win games.

My two favorite card games are still HS and Magic Arena, but I have to admit that I've been playing more and more LoR!!!
I'm looking forward to upcoming changes and I really enjoy how they have open communication with the players.
