Obviously I'm not implying that Hungry Crabs were added to specifically counter Sludge Slurper. The card's great as a 2/1 1 drop, but by no means insane. During SoU where quest shaman was brutally everywhere, and evolve shaman later piled on the meta, I dont find it strange to see Hungry Crab as a 1 off in highlander, or beast hunter, since Sludge Slurper is always a keeper in the mulligan.
Its a little like Dragonmaw Poacher now. Its not in every deck, but given the current meta, I wouldnt be surprised to see it, and the effect both cards have cannot be easily shrugged off.
Edit: I should have also pointed out that murloc shaman and murloc pally was meta then as well. Murloc pally was particularly problematic since losing tempo early on is nearly always an auto concede.
The only downside to this card is it gets countered hard by Hungry Crab and zephyrs the great to swing tempo early game. But that its forcing Hungry Crab as an inclusion only shows how powerful and innocent looking this card can be.
Zephrys is a bit of an awkward counter though: it requires drawing a one-of very early and playing a pure highlander deck (about half the decks running Zephrys include some duplicates). Then you have to play Zephrys and the Crab on the same turn, since otherwise the Slurper trades into Zephrys. If the Shaman player is on the coin, they can even choose to play the Slurper on turn 2, since it's likely Zephrys will be played for ramp or tempo on turn 2 if it's in the hand.
Were people including Hungry Crab in their deck specifically to counter Slurper? I think I only saw Hungry Crab in decks that were also running Fishflinger.
In my opinion, Shaman still has a lot of good cards, but after the nerfs it lacks insane cards, so it currently cannot keep up with the power spikes that other classes have.
I think Sludge Slurper is a risky card to unnerf: the nerfed version is actually fair value for mana, so they're going to boost a weak class by giving it an overpowered 1-drop. The Slurper fits into multiple Shaman archetypes: murlocs, battlecry and overload, so if any of those gets powerful new cards, the Slurper has the potential to push those archetypes over the edge into broken territory. I think the risk is highest for murlocs and overload, since those decks are more likely to snowball than battlecry decks, at least while the latter get their power from relatively slow cards like the quest and Shudderwock.
I think that's the point - they didn't want to change a card that would have a potentially huge impact, just one that'll maybe help Shaman see some play again. This is the only unnerfing that'll be staying in Standard, after all - the rest will be leaving to Wild (or are already there).
Prior to nerfs its literally in every shaman deck throughout 2019. The fact that it has 2 attack means it trades well with nearly every 1 drop and some 2 drops. Even with ping classes it forces a turn 2 hero power. It provided tempo, value, and on top of that its a murloc so it pairs well with Underbelly Angler for the reload even in non-murloc oriented decks.
The only downside to this card is it gets countered hard by Hungry Crab and [Hearthstone Card (zephyrs the great) Not Found] to swing tempo early game. But that its forcing Hungry Crab as an inclusion only shows how powerful and innocent looking this card can be.
I guess Galakrond shaman broke the camels back on the card.
Well, that's quite anticlimatic after all the predictions made here. I had a sneaky suspicion it would be this card, but never thought that it would actually be it, since the nerf was so minor.
I'm going to have to push back on this one. Back in the Uldum wild meta, that overload was so crippling that a bog standard murloc raider had better drawn and played winrates, at least in good ol' murloc shaman.
Let's see... I've always hated when my best cards are at the bottom and my opponent draws a perfect curve, so let's try to change that.
What do you guys think? Maybe put it as Deathrattle?
The effect seems cool, but without any ways of knowing what the top cards of your deck are, the effect basically does nothing. You only find out what the top card of your deck is when you draw it.
Think of it this way: Assuming you have no idea what the deck order is, the top 3 cards of your opponent's deck are just as likely to be the bottom 3 cards of their deck or any other position. Whatever cards you're planning on moving to the bottom of the deck may already be there without anyone knowing (in which case, the effect would actually help them draw those). You could say that "they would've drawn X next turn", but that wasn't information known to anyone until they actually draw it. Until then, they're equally as likely to draw any of their other cards.
Karma feels really weird, is one of the few cards that brings rng to the game (aside draw), i don't like her basic skill.
Relentless Pursuit is either slow or 5 mana. It was disscused before, but it brings unnecesary power to the board, in mtg similar effects are waaaaay more expensive than 3 mana. Also, The text is not accurate, since you can play at the start of your turn and have a second combat phase.
Rework Elusive keyword or nerf every elusive unit from Ionia into the ground (i'm cool with the others, but the keyword should be reworked as "after the first time I attack, I lose elusive").
This should give the mana in all cases. The Manasaber says “whenever it attacks” and it attacks otherwise the trap would not sprung, it is not like the trap activated before Manasabers attack. Report a bug.
My brainstorm I just had, checked a bit of WoW lore, and here I come with my 3 cards. The first being an old one I posted on the discord, but I fixed it.
I must agree here. Your post is of a very low quality. You could have for example listed some of the mistakes you see players in lower elo do and offer some advice.
If you just wanted to share a deck ur playing or one that got you to Masters, that is perfectly fine, but you didnt go about it in a great way.
Small caveat: If you get a lot of losses in an Expedition, it's much closer to breaking even. I'm not sure if you can actually fall behind with maximum losses, but it can't be by much. (I don't remember if you get XP on an individual loss in Expeditions.)
I think you get 50xp per loss and it caps somewhere, cause i got 0 in the past. Definitely NOT worth trying to throw for the xp, even if you would get like 100xp every time without a cap lol!
its just because of the wording of the flavor text it shows an oversight of the cards design
it should be Battlecry: Your opponent draws a card. Add two copies of that card to your hand
nothing special but its just the little things
Dont take this in a wrong way, but if you want to correct somone, you should do your research first. It should have actually been "... Add two copies of it to your hand." I only found a single card in the game that says "that card" and that is Far Sight. Also, card text != flavor text :)
In the spirit of the card, I will make a proper comment when I am replied with 3 'candles' (i.e. 3 different people reply with anything, preferably candle related). For now my comment is dormant...

No time for art! My first idea
Diminitive Summoner - (3) 2/2 Warlock Epic Minion
Battlecry: Put a 5/5 Rush Demon 3 cards from the top of your deck. It is summoned when drawn.
- Play a weak minion now for a big rush minion in a few turns. Warlocks also have their hero power to accelerate the Demon.

I was really hoping it would be a different shaman card. This was a very annoying 1 drop to contend with.

Glimpse Beyond cost 3 mana instead of 2
Warmother's Call 11 mana instead of 12
Mark of the Isles give +3/0 And reduce the hp of the unit to 1
I would like to see Ren Shadowblade played, but seems to powerful to cost less mana and to slow fot that price... So maybe 7 mana(?)
Nerfing Shadow Isles and Ionian will buff the other regions (but I will keep an eye on Freljiord and P&Z)
