  • [RANT] Skelesaurus Hex should be deleted from the game

I think at this point there's more than enough general strategies from the net that the only legitimate gripe is not having the cards to defeat heroic bosses as efficiently as possible. If I'm not mistaken, this boss doesn't do very well against mill rogue

In any case, its a heroic boss, means the frustration of loss is at least confined within the restart button, unlike losing to an OP boss from a dungeon run. So your very unfortunately Kelecgos event is just a one-off, not a definite encounter. Just restart until you get the perfect hand, that works too.

    @Elfensilver:

I like the idea of having a 'scheme' minion. But I don't think drawing cards is the kind of thing you want on a scheme. After 10 cards it is just plain bad, and before that it is just too powerful. I like the idea, but not this specific effect. Also, does it continue to upgrade after hitting the field?

@ShadowOfSense, I also cannot quote Elfensilver. This is definitely something you should look into.

i like this alot however 2 things 1 statemnt and 1 question

this needs to be played soon or else youll burn cards and fatige is also a factor that you need to consider if you play this late game

2.does the scheme upgrade even when its on board or does it stop when you play it

Scheming ExcavatorIs this okay for a scheme-card? Not balance wise (although I'd also appreciate feedback) but per defintion of scheme.

Also to the OP: Fucking swearing every fucking five fucking seconds makes it really fucking hard to fucking take you fucking seriously. I would recommend blowing steam in the venting thread, or maybe to a friend in Discord. Coming in here and swearing like a sailor isn't going to make your plight very sympathetic.

alternatively, why not play grizzled wizard and finley combo? his deck is pretty garbage on its own, but if youre not willing to try then why bother?

Grizzled Wizard doesn't work on adventure bosses.

    This is a sad truth.

I figured this out when I was trying to beat emperor thaurissan on heroic mode. I was very dissapointed.

  • Relenless pursuit

Rally works wonders in way more than just elusives. My Lucian sacrifice deck gets free rallies constantly. My yasuo Kat deck will attack three times in one turn. Elusive or quick attack, anyone who depends on attack to gain the edge rally is amazing.

  • Shadowshift Cancelling Targeted Spells

    Quote From YourPrivateNightmare

I think the main reason is that with Stand United, the targets never actually leave combat, aka, the "space" where the spell was aimed at was always filled.

With Shadowshift the actual target disappears and there is a moment of an empty board beefore the Shadow is summoned,  in which the spell will fizzle (as all spells that lack a target do)

it'S not the most intuitive, but it's consistent with how the game works

Stand United targets don't both have to be in (or out of ) combat, but I think the moment of empty space is still a relevant aspect of Shadowshift. Good call.

Couldn't you simply post the token in the "description" box?

Yeah so I just played against the nerfed Ledros but the damage is still rounded up, so unfortunately he can still kill you if you're at 1 health. :(

I am not surprised. I strongly suspected everyone was misinterpreting the text clarification. Thank you for confirming.

So, obviously, this will not do at all, Riot!

  • does united stand negates spells?

Well SU does enable an OTK, where as shadowshift has the added caveat of dodging spells.I forget the name of the card, but the 1/2 that gains 2/0 with barriers, if shen and her attack, shen's unblocked but shes blocked, SU to give her a clear lane of attack.
  • How To Train Year Dragon - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

For some reason quoting your post Xarkkal isn't working, I'll need to get that looked into.

Anyway, currently the system for tokens involves submitting an additional card, which you would submit as a token. Obviously this isn't ideal, as for example this current competition only lets you submit one card.

In the short term, I'll make sure we include space for an additional token card to be submitted (when tokens are allowed by a theme). In the long term, we'll look at coming up with a better system for including tokens - Hero Cards, for example, are particularly obnoxious to submit right now.

  • Shadowshift Cancelling Targeted Spells

The card works as intended. The summoned unit has the properties of a unit, whereas the spell has properties of any other fast spell. Whatever spell gets played last activates first (outside of burst). The summoned living shadow plays like any other summon unit card.

I would have liked to see Jeweled Protector remain a 3/3 simply because he was adding 3/3 to another minion...kind of implying that they somehow were together, like the unit was riding a Jeweled Protector. It had a flavor connection in my mind that is now lost.

    ...All well *shrugs*

  • Aggro Dragon Hunter with Dragonbane, Felwing and draw

I played a very similar list from rank 3 to legend, just with 2x Lifedrinker instead of Big Ol' Whelp. If you want I can give a more thorough explanation about how to play it against the decks I faced the most between those ranks. In general I agree with your guide, but there are a few things I disagree with. First of all I almost always keep Faerie Dragon if I don't have Phase Stalker in my opening hand, and always when facing Rogue. Also, Res Priest is actually favoured in my experience because you can just kill them before they get all their annoying stuff online. I also think you're very lucky to not have faced any Galakrond Warrior because that's one of the match-ups I struggled with the most, besides Token Druid and Mech Paladin if they draw Crystology and Galvanizer.

I'm mostly happy with the patch changes, although I have a feeling that Rhasa and Ledros will still be stupid strong.

Was also very surprised at the hefty buff to Jeweled Protector - total stats of 7/7 for 5 mana seems a bit crazy (I would've reduced the hand buff to +2/+3, myself). I might just pick him back up for my control deck.

I absolutely agree about Ledros. The fact that simply playing him over and over can no longer win the game is a big deal, but I still think he should be a Champion.

Jeweled Protector is still fine because it gives away information. Knowing there's a fatty in the works can make a big difference in how the opponent plays.

Yeah so I just played against the nerfed Ledros but the damage is still rounded up, so unfortunately he can still kill you if you're at 1 health. :(

Deny was expected but Kinkou Lifeblade really hurts. 3 health really mattered there

  • Shadowshift Cancelling Targeted Spells

    Quote From FortyDust

In combat, you are blocking a position.

On the other hand, a spell targets a specific unit at that position.

While I agree that that works as a way of thinking about it, I still think it's inconsistent with Stand United's design. You probably couldn't resolve it with card text without horribly bloating one or both of them, so personally I think a change is in order.

  • [RANT] Skelesaurus Hex should be deleted from the game

There's plenty of stuff in Naxx that wouldn't let that combo work either. Just because a specific deck doesn't work in a format designed to ask you to build a deck for each encounter doesn't mean the encounter is broken.

  • My predictions for changes we are going to see this Tuesday

    Quote From OldManSanns

The +3/+3 from Jeweled Protector is also slow: you need to have the target in hand when you play him, and you probably aren't playing that target on the same turn so its a delayed effect.  Contrast with Avarosan Hearthguard, who conceivably can give ~20/~20 worth of stats for that same 5 mana but because most of those stats trickle out he goes from auto-include 3x to worthy consideration.

Tbf Hearthguard was auto-3x until they nerfed Freljord control :P

Jewelled Protector has a major upside in that you can target it, though, which is valuable because some cards use the stats better than others. It's a lot more impactful to give +3/+3 to a Kinkou Lifeblade than to Icy Yeti, for example.
