  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

So Hogger, Doom of Elwynn specifically re: the blood summoning soldiers

  • is your game bugged too?

^ I have yet to experience the gold bug, but I have had the rest of that. The game just has to be buggy after every couple patches :(

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

I’m assuming your guess is Hogger, in which case it is NOT correct. It’s so close it hurts, though

  • is your game bugged too?

    The bugs I have recently seen in the game;

    - Gold bug, but just visual

    - Some standard decks can't be played in standard mode, but can be corrected if you edit them by re-adding a single card.

    - After being in collection in a while, card texts' turns purple bars that cannot be read

    - I don't know this is a bug or not but Sometimes in crafting screen, there is no card texts on cards that I don't own and can't craft. I can see the texts when I click them tho. I thought it is bug because that doesn't happen always.

Btw, nothing is wrong in the company, it's just an online game and online games always have some bugs. Game's mechanics work at least. There's no in-game bugs (Think a bug like Rush minions can attack your face like charge minions :P ) or game-breaking issues so that's acceptable I guess. I hope they will correct them asap tho.

    Hogger

    Joke in WoW

    First boss of the tutorial

    Hogger, Doom of Elwynn

    still a joke?

  • is your game bugged too?

missing gold was already a thread...

additionally i have decks in the deck manager, that say, they are one card short, even if they are at full 30 cards.

i have decks i can't play, because the game tells me, that this deck is not for this mode (wtf?)

    and so on...

what's wrong with our favourite indie company?

and marry christmas to everyone :) (so this thread is not only complaint)

  • Just made legend for the first time

Congrats! I have not yet reached legend and I started playing in 2015. The only time I tried seriously to climb I reached rank 2 with Odd Paladin.

It's not like we had Kraken, Mammoth or Raven decks previously (although now I come to think of it... why didn't we get Kraken tribals? That'd be way more interesting than dragons...).

I agree with literally anything except this: every time I've seen this argument I got really annoyed cause it doesn't make any sense at all.

"Kraken" and "Raven" are not tribal tags, whereas "Dragon" is and, to be honest, it's one of the community's favorites too. It was legitimate for us to think about lots of minions with that tribe coming in this year, exactly for this reason.

I mean, obviously it's a tongue-in-cheek comment. The point is simply that just because a year has a name doesn't mean that's going to have any significant influence on the actual cards released. It's just an indicator of the overall theme, nothing more.

But again... Kraken, Raven and Mammoth would all produce some pretty interesting card sets. What if they were tribals? Seriously, they'd be far more interesting and unique than dragons, which are in literally everything fantasy-based.

It't not because it's the Year of the Dragon, it's because Descent of DRAGONS is an expansion with really MANY DRAGONS. So I'd also expect dragon decks to be more dominant in the meta

generally the hero power helps a bit against face hunter matchups?

Funny thing... according to the HS deck builder algorithm, Toxic Face Hunter is not the best Hunter.

Last night I was looking at what I’m missing that are good cards, crafted both copies of that side quest.  Being lazy I chose auto-complete thinking it’d give me Toxic Hunter.  It gave me straight up Mech Hunter with only a few new cards, like Dragonbane, which I also just recently opened.  Played only a few games with it so far but got from 5 to 4 without a loss!  Spawning Goblin Bombs helps with control matchups because clearing the board does damage, and the Venomizer + Missile Launcher keeps the board clear against aggro.

Been hard to find time to play lately, but the recent Galakrond Warrior list from Meta Breaker 9 article on this site, and now Mech Hunter have been big help on trying to push back up again.

  • Countarrred! - Wild dragon priest teched against pirates and burn

Oh ok thanks for your dedication! I'm actually trying to find a good and fun priest deck to play in wild, my big priest is boring me... I'll be very glad if you have some more suggestions :) (I was thinking something with shadowreaper anduin but reno priest isn't having a good time in this meta)

    Midrange/control galakrond warrior

I had no Problem beating face hunter and galakrond shaman. Just keep using your hero power until you overwhelm your opponent with Galakrond and burst them down. I mostly went face with the invoke cards but there are moments when it's right to hit minions.

It's also suprisingly easy to gain a good early game and curve out into the midgame.

Galakrond warrior brought me to my first time legend with only 5-10 losses, so I'd say this deck is pretty good in this meta

Can you share a list? I've seen variants that include the leeroy+mercenary combo, but the list felt a bit clunky and draw dependent.

  • Kibler's Legend Quest Priest (66% WR)

I've played this one a fair bit at this point. Personally not a fan, but mostly down to my own taste - it doesn't really have a win condition as such, just hopes to stick something on board to be snowballed. Anything that doesn't just punch itself out will have the tools to deal with the (wholly defensive) mass-res boards anyway. That's not to say it doesn't win games - the issue is it just takes forever and never really feels like it's doing anything special in the process.

Oh, and re: some of the people talking about other cards - almost all of the things you've said you'd tech in make the deck actively weaker by weakening the Mass Res pool you're relying on. Albatross and Arcane Dynamo in particular. Whitemane is a decent shout, otherwise just stick to heal value like Damaged Stegotron.

  • What NEW thing do you think would benefit Hearthstone?

Hot take: Achievements are a terrible idea. They wouldn't bring any new players in, and while they'd provide a short-term happiness boost they would lead to a subsequent drop in playrate because having all the achievements gives a perception of 'completion' which subconsciously discourages people from playing. And I say that despite the fact that I personally would like them a lot.

Frankly the things that would most improve this game are all external to the game and should be being provided by third-parties already. Comprehensive resources developed and maintained by noted professionals (entirely for their name-drop) to explain how game design works, how balance works, and how to judge the relative strengths of cards, would be a great improvement. Primarily because it would stop people complaining about things that don't need to be complained about, and stop them massively overhyping cards like Embiggen :P

  • Biggest Disappointment: No (Good) Dragon Decks in DOD

There are no 'dragon' decks meaning just cramming a load of dragons into a deck (i.e. old Dragon Priest) because Hearthstone has evolved past that point. You'd need to have a huge amount of power gated behind the 'hold a dragon' tag, even more so than already exists given the power level of the expansion. It's also worth noting that doing so would significantly detract from other potential decks in the meta - if you're not playing a dragon deck, you get (say) 50% fewer cards from the expansion because half are gated behind dragon synergy.

We have a lot of powerful dragons, most (if not all) top-tier decks contain a dragon of some description or other, arena is largely dragon-dominated. Really not sure what more you want. It's not like we had Kraken, Mammoth or Raven decks previously (although now I come to think of it... why didn't we get Kraken tribals? That'd be way more interesting than dragons...).

  • Gold glitch?

It's just a graphic bug: if you log out and log in again it should fix itself.

Curious why galakrond warrior is so popular all of a sudden since it's not among the strongest decks.

Depends on the variant. My midrange tempo warrior wrecked Shamans, but now they're dead it struggles to compete as it's not defensive enough to abuse aggro and absolutely cannot either outrace or outtank HW Paladin.

Cruised to wild rank 3 with mech paladin without much effort. Switched to secret mage for a daily quest and beat an even totem shaman who run and played two eaters of secrets.

Also kudos to the mirror mech paladin player who obliterated my very slim chances in that game by playing Camouflaged Dirigible!
