  • Details on Upcoming Card Nerfs & Battlegrounds Changes - December 19 Patch Notes

I think extreme nerfs were made in the past because balance updates were so infrequent - they had to be absolutely certain the problem was dealt with or risk further aggravating the player base. Faster and more frequent balance updates should give Team 5 more room to try out milder nerfs. If the problem still persists, at least players won't have to wait too long for the next update.

  • Card Nerf - Corrupt Elementalist

Slows down the deck, and makes Dragon's pack less consistent. Hopefully, this gives the deck more weaknesses, still a solid card though.

  • Card Nerf - Mogu Fleshshaper

Seems more balanced now, possibly underpowered, but still usable. Dealing with the minions they get a few turns later is actually better, and 10 drops are arguably worse, with only colossus of the moon being the huge high roll.

  • Quest Trading - Play A Friend!

    Battletag: halbstark#2294

    Region: EU

Trade only: Yes, you go first.

    DONE!

  • Card Nerf - Sludge Slurper

    No need nerf.

  • Card Nerf - Faceless Corruptor

The cost is too low, change attack doesn't make so much difference.

  • Card Nerf - Mogu Fleshshaper

Evolve into a 10 mana minion.. nerf or buff ?

  • Card Nerf - Faceless Corruptor

The change may be small, but having to double trade into 5 HP minions is probably a lot bigger than we realize at the moment.  I look forward to seeing if the card gets included in less decks or not.

  • Card Nerf - Corrupt Elementalist

This card is still good as well as Galakrond shaman in general. You can currently have great success with it without including the other cards that are getting nerfed. Maybe it'll feel more fair to play against now? But it will definitely still be a top tier deck.

I mean just about every nerf was to slow the deck down. Sludge does half the damage it did before and it is highly unlikely they will get a mogu out before turn 5 in most games especially if you are paying attention. And the cultist coming down a turn later seems like a pretty big deal because a lot of the time that means another turn they have to wait to play the wolves and get the 4 directed damage from the cultist for board control. I think these changes will make it even worse against the aggro decks, slightly worse against midrange, but for control the only big difference is giving them another turn to come up with an answer to wolves. At least I think that will be the results we will see, I am a little sad that the wolves did not get directly hit or the rush on either part of Galakrond but I think a light nerf is worth a try. As a side note I am interested to see if the apothecary ends up being a problem or not, I think not but it will be swingy and high rolling sometimes.

    Quote From OmarComing

I'm thinking that during the past few days, they've noticed other archetypes like Face Hunter and Deathrattle Rogue start to gain ground, so maybe that resulted in a milder treatment of the Shaman nerfs? The Sludge Slurper one is weird though. And I thought for sure they would adjust the Galakrond battlecry.

    My thoughts too

There has been some emerging threats to Galakrond Shaman and I think they wouldn't want to hammer it down just in the beginning of the expansion. I think it's fair like this...

And I also didn't understand the Sludge Sluper nerf... it's now a class Cable Rat. The overload may be a now a huge downside  in non-overload centered decks (like the Galakrond ones)

Try Wild. It is pretty balanced at the moment, with a few Reno decks be viable.

Truly disappointed, this s**t is killing my will to play hs once again.

  • Card Nerf - Faceless Corruptor

This is the most stupid nerf i've ever seen.

This card should cost at least (6) for a split 8/8 rush body!

  • Card Nerf - Sludge Slurper

I'm sad, I played it in Roffle's wild burn shaman and it was a great followup to the Tunnel Trogg when I didn't draw the Totem Golem. The deck fought toe-to-toe with Wild Pirate warrior (kinda bad matchup, very draw dependent), now it's gonna trade worse with Parachute Brigand :/ But I guess it was doing too many things for a one-drop - murloc synergy, overload synergy, lackeys.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    Crowd Roaster almost fits.

I’m much more stylish than my kin, I'm not sure if that fits.

I wield that which sears the skin, It breaths fire.

the crowd cheers when I fight, I don't know if cheer is the right word, but it is a RR card and crowds cheer during that set.

my deck never took flight Dragon decks didn't work in RR meta, and even now Crowd Roaster doesn't see play. Plus, flight pun.

ok, awful changes, i think, i m leaving hs again.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't touch Necrium Apothecary. I haven't seen the deck enough in action but I hope it will have some proper counters unlike the current meta beast.

  • Card Nerf - Mogu Fleshshaper

Here's to hoping that evolve original mana mechanic isn't exclusive to this week's tavern brawl. In that case I'm not sure this card even needed a nerf.

  • Card Nerf - Sludge Slurper

I understand that this was probably one of the strongest one-drops in standard, but I'm not sure it needed a nerf. Perhaps they expect aggro shaman's numbers to increase now that players might shy away from Galakrond?

  • Card Nerf - Corrupt Elementalist

A 6 mana 7/5 of which 4 attack has rush AND double invokes your Galakrond still seems pretty solid. At least it will slow down shaman somewhat.

I fear Battlegrounds just became Murloc or nothing... removing Amalgam means no other archetype gets the same access to poison.

I may be wrong but that archetype was already really strong...

  • Card Nerf - Faceless Corruptor

I guess they didn't want to butcher it completely since the card's been out for slightly over a week. It's still really strong as a 4/4.

Great that these nerfs have been announced.

But what about the big offender?  We all know what card I am referring to.  Yes that's right, Ramming Speed!

Totally busted and should be nerfed right now.

The fact i opened 5 of these (1 golden) is in no way a factor in how I feel.*

    *this is a lie

  • THEY CHANGED EVOLVE!!!

    Quote From MasseBre007

I can't figure out why people want this change.

First off, powerful effects are fun. Second, people only started talking about this change after Shaman had gotten its time in the sun (Desert Hare Evolve stuff) when the mechanic had been around forever. And lastly this makes evolve effects and their ilk less friendly to new players by making the effects less obvious on the cards.

It just seems like a needless change all the way down.

It promotes high-rolling and IMMENSE mana cheating and is the reason multiple cards have been nerfed now. Powerful effects are fun if they happen when the opponent has some way of reacting to it. Getting a random 8/8 or 12/12 that also dealt 3 damage to one of your minions on as early as turn 3/4 isn't fun.
