  • Cumulo-Maximus

    Battlecry SMOrcing Shaman.

You're in the wrong neighbourhood if you think that it won't be a thing.

  • New Neutral Minion - Platebreaker (Armor Destruction)

and now, the dark reign of face decks ending matches on turn 3-5 will comeback... face hunter is my bet.

  • New Card Reveal - Tentacled Menace

Unlike all the gimmiky same style cards from previous expansions, like drakkari trickster, this actually is mostly beneficial to you, AND you basicly control how you can use it. I feel like it's a must include for ANY "Big" or "Recruit" Deck. it let's you discount something like Collosus of the moon, and makes your opponents card expansive AF. It's a bit high rolly but it's a great card anyways.

  • Bad Luck Albatross

Not really a Wild expert, but seems like it's much more oriented for Wild than for standard.

I strangely got a feeling that this set has a lot of Wild oriented cards.

  • Kripparrian Hosting the Final Card Reveal Stream for Descent of Dragons

It'll be fun seeing Kripp on his best behaviour ;)

  • New Card Reveal - Platebreaker (ARMOR DESTRUCTION)

I’m honestly really dissappointed Blizzard released a card like this.

  • New Priest Reveals - Mindflayer Kaahrj & Chronobreaker

Chronobreaker seems bad to me, it doesn't have great stats and the deathrattle means that it's up to your opponent to decide how to control it. It does feel better to play AGAINST, but it probably feels bad to play yourself.

However this card will get generated by Priest Galakrond hero power, so you don't need to put this in your deck. Which is the best thing about this card if you ask me.

Kaahrj is definatly the card i'm pulling a gold version of because of my pre-order, and the normal version is the one i'm pulling from my first 10 packs. CALLING IT NOW. i always pull Priest legendaries first, and i feel like this time won't be different unfortunatly.... (Pls Blizzard, just let me pull anything else... it's been this way for 6 expansions in a row now)

Onto the card itself. It depends on your opponent, but if you have deathrattle synergy you might be able to do some shenanigans with it. Worst case it's a turn 3, 3 mana 3/3 with deathrattle: summon like a 2/3 or 3/3. Unfortunatly it's a fresh copy and not a full on copy. If it was a full copy it would be an AMAZING tech card against any buff styled deck.

  • Platebreaker

It's really strange to finally see this mechanic, when there's really not a big armor archetype right now... Guess you can theorise that with the new set comes support for big armored Warrior, but... I don't really think so.

Now, in Wild, with those random Odd Warriors and Armor Druids, yeah, this is a good addition for a (very specific) tech card.

  • New Card Reveal - Platebreaker (ARMOR DESTRUCTION)

Acidic Swamp Ooze, Bad Luck Albatross, Gluttonous Ooze, [Hearthstone Card (Dragon Slayer) Not Found], Golakka Crawler

also, 5/5 for 5 is not well statted. that's the bare minimum. 5/6 or 6/5 is the 5-mana vanilla baseline, and even that's being challenged with stuff like Waxadred

Also I don't need you to change your opinion, because time will prove me right anyways. If you want I can come back in 2 weeks and make fun of how including a vanilla 5/5 did nothing for my deck'S winrate in 6 out of 9 cases.

  • Breath of Dreams

I am assuming that if you use this on 10 mana crystals you get 2 (!) cards?!

    Insane.

  • New Warlock Spell - Nether Breath

2 mana deal 2 damage is garbage. 2 mana deal 4 damage with lifesteal is broken... so, it will be played only if we have enough dragon in the deck

  • New Warlock Minion - Crazed Netherwing

Great card for sure, but Lock need some more good dragon card. We can't rely only on Twilight Drake. Anyway it's a Abyssal Enforcer for 5 mana. 5 star for sure

  • New Warrior Hero - Galakrond, the Unbreakable

This Galak fit in aggressive decks for sure, and the invoke can be used to lower enemy's hp to win later with some combo with damaged minion. I'm curios if this type of deck will be good enough and if it will be strong

  • Hunter Weapon Reveal - Stormhammer

Hmm this doesn't look like a Hunter Weapon. Okay i'm not a Warcraft player, but i have seen plenty of people saying Maces are not hunter weapons. Also the name really makes me feel like this should have been a Shaman Weapon. Shamans like everything "Storm" and "Lightning" based. so that already feels like it's bad design flavorwise.

The effect itself is pretty interesting, it has 2 durability so you don't always need to have a dragon to get it's effect. And this for 3 mana is really good! honestly when i saw the effect i thought this was a legendary, but no. It's just this expansions crazy powerlevel.

  • New Hunter Spell - Clear the Way

In the early game can be a good card (if can be completed fast enough), but this is the tipical card that you don't want draw in late game.

Hunter can complete the quest easly, but this isn't the best card of the set for sure.

  • New Druid Spell - Secure the Deck

I don't know why i need to play this card with Gonk, the Raptor when i can just play an otk maly druid or a quest druid. It's an arena card for me. FIller card for me if it will not find some place in a combo deck

  • New Neutral Minion - Shu'ma

I don't like it. For me it's a filler card that can only be played in arena (even if i can see its potential). If you "need" this to win in a token deck there is a problem for sure

  • EVIL Quartermaster

A shame there are a lot of better 3 mana cards... Oh but wait! They are all for different kind of archetypes! Well, Lackey Warrior... here I g... Nah, control FTW.

  • New Priest Minion - Envoy of Lazul

Like Curious Glimmerroot in competive play this is 2 mana 2/2 obtain a card and information on 75%. The only downside of this card are empty hands and the "random generate card" to guess.

Probably in the next meta will be only good in mirror match

  • Paladin Card Reveal - Bronze Explorer

Overall Great Card. 2/3 body is worth 2 mana, and discover a card is worth 1 mana, so that makes it good balanced already. On top of this it has Lifesteal. This is great! After All, most paladins love healing.

Note: it can discover your Turn 4, 8/8 dragon. (Forgot the name... whoops) And on Tempo, but it's going to be a bit harder because of the discover nerf, But even still it is still a chance if you haven't pulled that card yet.

  • Bronze Explorer

Very strong card, a strictly better Netherspite Historian for 1 more mana.

  • New Neutral Minion - Platebreaker (Armor Destruction)

As a person who plays High Priest Thekal, I’m not terribly worried about this card.  It just means that I have to time it’s effect where I can get lots of healing back on the same turn to prevent me from being at lethal damage.  Thekal is more of a tempo play so I can activate Zandalari Templar.

Definitely a bummer of a card for Warrior and Druid though.  RIP armor gain. However, as many people have already stated, when you get rid of the armor, you have to kill them that turn as well, otherwise they go right back to gaining armor.

  • Platebreaker

This card is very polarizing it seems so far.  i'm a fan of having interaction with armor but only because of wild interactions making basically unwinnable games.  Gotta fix it somehow i guess.

  • New Paladin Minion - Dragonrider Talritha

If your deck have a decent ammount of dragon, you WANT to play this card for sure. Anyway is a 3 mana 3/3: no downside even if deathrattle don't proc...but if it's proc you have infinite value potential

  • New Paladin Minion - Nozdormu the Timeless

Fun card for sure and counter to all agro deck. Still give to enemy an hypothetical turn 4/5 with 10 mana can be dangerous in some matchup...

So maybe we will see a deck build around this card, but probably it will be good for sure only in tournament
