Hearthstone is dead in the water, at least to Blizzard, and this half baked attempt at an autochess competitor is an attempt to inject more people back into Hearthstone. They simply will not develop other game modes unless it earns them more money, but they cannot see that player happiness = more money + more players.
The Battlegrounds is an attempt at finding new players and bringing back old players, and it will not work in the financial way they want. People who do end up enjoying battlegrounds likely will spend little to no money on Hearthstone, because it’s not even tied to your collection. This is simply Blizzards way of saying “sorry we tried” as HS dies.
I'm having mix feeling on HS Battleground: On one hand, they are finally implementing a new mode - which is nice, even if it doesn't seem this exciting to me - on the other, tournament mode has yet to even surface and been on their ''to do'' list for quite some time now. I do hope it will be better than what I'm expecting it to be, that's my only wish.
They canned Tournament mode for reasons they’ll never really disclose (they gave a lazy excuse). Battlegrounds only took them 6 months to develop and to be honest, we should expect more modes in the next few (1-2) year. Not right away but not fucking five years later.
I'm wishing that this set can make Rastakhan's Rumble cards viable again. I mean that set is basically to weak to be the last expansion of a year. Hope all the spirits and the loas will be somewhat more playable..

Probably their shitty policy has got even worse about creating a new hero for free, so they just don't create a new hero, they pick an old hero that wasn't supposed to be free and then say "look at all the free stuff we give".
The difference here is that the Dalaran Flame cardback is obtained through participation in TeSPA programs, while Tyrande is just a free Twitch Prime reward. It's the inverse argument about the Ragnaros cardback that they gave to everyone; it's not like the people that got it back in that season did anything special other than get to rank 20. The reason they haven't given everyone the Legend cardback for free is because it requires significant effort to be put into the game. If you want Tyrande, just get an Amazon account and connect it to Twitch. Don't want to pay money? Make a new email account and link it again to get the free trial. It's not like people that got Tyrande did anything special that's out of the ordinary, all they had to do was log into a website and click some buttons. Besides, some people don't care whether or not a certain cosmetic is unique or exclusive, since it just looks good. I personally couldn't care less about the "exclusive value" of a portrait, all I care about is being able to use a nice looking animated portrait that looks better than Anduin's normal one.
I didn't have Twitch Prime in my country either but I made an American Amazon account for the free trial. If you wanted the Tyrande skin you could have gotten it pretty easily.

Very few decks can deal with a turn 2 fairie dragon. It's been in and out of the deck for months, but Rogue hasn't been in the best spot lately so it hasn't shown up that much.

Something more like the old Midrange Hunter or Dragon Priest, just to name a couple. I'm speaking about Wild there, I don't really know how Standard is going now days.

Even though I have ALL heroes available, I feel like people who missed limited-time heroes should be able to buy them in store for $10 if they want. I mean c’mon, they haven’t updated ‘Heroes’ section of the shop since June 2015 when they introduced Alleria, Magni and Medivh.
