I'll be honest, this card is shit. I just cant see the merits of cards like these. Pyros, Build a Snowman, and the primes (with a few exceptions) all weren't good enough in their time and here's another one testing the old Einstein adage once again.
So to get into a few details. The main problem of this card is that it does nothing without triggering manathrist and the stats suck. Even the final reward of the card is lacklustre, even with 16 damage because its split, so every face damage that doesn't kill face is damage lost. The only way this ever sees play is via some crazy manathrist combo enabler that is yet to be revealed, or it goes into druid, because no other class can trigger the manathirst faster than druid, and also because druid is the only class that can naturally play out the final reward with Brann Bronzebeard.
But of course, the ultimate killer to the card's viability is perhaps to ask - why aren't you just playing Sire Denathrius instead?
Really weird card, which feels out of place in hunter.
(Is there a chance we might understand it wrong ?
Like : it does not just enhance the drawn spell damage by 1. But actually makes it a "give +1 spell damage until the end of game/turn" spell ?
Seems unlikely...)
Right now, it gives me a relic/libram kind of vibes : We may get some card that'll synergize with it that expansion. But we should not expect more support past that point.
In a vacuum, it's seems neither bad nor good : discovering a spell directly from your deck is an okay-ish effect; regardless of arcane synergy. Priest has been making use of such effect for years.
In the end, it may well prove to be just a fair and balanced cards (though unexciting) : another Thrive in the Shadows, but with a slight twist - sometimes -.
Really happy to hear this news honestly. First read it on the bliz forums, and as someone who has been actively advocating for this, it's just so heart-warming and rewarding to hear this from them.
I'd also like to thank the hearthstone community in general. You guys have been amazing, empathetic and supportive beyond anything I have experienced before from an online sighted gaming community.
This card is interesting, because it features some bonuses if you wait, but you get a progressively better card sooner if you dont. Alternatively, you can just treat it as though as the manathirst is the actual cost of the card and the effects are the battlecries.
So that said, is this a good card? Likely not in my opinion, except in druid. Discounts dont work well with this class because of how manathirst work, but ramp should. And also because druid is the only class that can naturally play this alongside Brann Bronzebeard for a psuedo-denathrius finisher. All other classes would prefer to play other, better stuff with less convoluted conditions. I mean, even Sire Denathrius is easier to work with than this card.
Not to mention that the card's stats aren't good for its cost, and you need to play it off curve just so its secondary effect triggers. Even then, with the exception of the last, they're not really that good.
I actually need this card upon seeing it. It's amazing value and curves out well at 4, 7, then 10 mana (for the additional effect ofc). If you trigger every Manathirst requirement, this is 15/15 in stats across 3 bodies and 18 damage + 5 armor. That is nuts.
I really love the idea of the cards rewarding you to play them on curve with manathirst, but this also feels like its going to give me severe paranoya of flamebringer getting eaten or stolen after all that work.

kudos to blizzard for taking this extra step to make a game fully playable to the blind/visually impaired community. you just don't here a company going to these lengths. there actually may be some damn good players in that community that can give us a run for our money lol.....i have talked my trash about blizz when they screw up with these patches/updates, but i also have to acknowledge when they make good moves to be fair. i really tip my hat off to them. think i'm actually going to purchase some packs, least i can do is support them a bit through my pockets, for someone at the company having a good heart. rant over
Hey look, Cult Master got an upgrade! This will see play as the 1x frost rune isn't that big of a restriction. There will be plenty of new (and old) undead minions to take advantage of so this draw engine will be good.
A no minion DH? Sounds interesting, considering everyone used to joke about spell Hunter back in the Rumble days. Also DH does have Abyssal Depths which can tutor Lady S'theno for eg, so I'm fairly optimistic about this new DH archetype.
This is actually hilarious that Blizzard decided to reveal this hunter card first when there's only Arcane Shot in standard atm. Sure more arcane spells will get revealed but I don't see a point in running this card at all. The +1 spell damage isn't that much of a benefit anyway. Least the epic gem matches the card art but I'll be bummed if I open this epic in packs.
So if you have Renathal, you can technically get 60 health if you cast 2 of these spells. That's double the normal health. Insane in a greedy control deck
Honestly, Soulstealer is a better card but ofc there's a difference between 2x and 3x rune restrictions. This along with all other DK cards will see experimentation. Depending how many corpses a Blood DK can generate by turn 5, this spell should clear the board.
I have a feeling that 3/2 zombie tokens will be Shaman's theme this expansion. This is 9/6 in stats across 3 bodies if the condition is met but probably won't be good in constructed
For the ultra greedy decks, combo Lorthemar with Brann for triple the stats! Or would it be quadruple? Regardless, it's a neutral legendary so there is bound to be a class and archetype that will love this guy.
Guess it's nice for classes that battle with AOE like Druid. Might be a tech card if there's an aggro/token meta and there's also the Reborn mechanic again where Street Sweeper could clean up the 1 health minions. Probably being too optimistic though and this will only see play through random generation or in arena.

Denathrius seems generally better: less set up for a better Battlecry.

March of the Lich King
Breakdown of the rune distribution for DK:
Summary: of all DK cards:
Year of the Hydra Core Set
Rune distribution for DK:
Looks like the core set will be more unholy focused with 11 cards having at least 1 unholy rune.
4 New Blood Death Knight Cards Revealed for Hearthstone's Core & Path of Arthas Sets
Corrupted Ashbringer as a common hurts me... Why Blizzard..?
Path of Arthas
Seeing as all DK cards have been revealed, here's a breakdown of the different rune distribution:
Summary: Seems Path of Arthas is more Frost rune focused with 10 cards alone being that of Frost.
New Death Knight Minion - Acolyte of Death
Hey look, Cult Master got an upgrade! This will see play as the 1x frost rune isn't that big of a restriction. There will be plenty of new (and old) undead minions to take advantage of so this draw engine will be good.

New Druid Minion - Nerubian Flyer
Token druid can use this minion but Druid would need to get a lot more undead minions for this to see play. Time will tell.
New Shaman Minion - Unliving Champion
I have a feeling that 3/2 zombie tokens will be Shaman's theme this expansion. This is 9/6 in stats across 3 bodies if the condition is met but probably won't be good in constructed
New Neutral Minion - Lor'themar Theron
