  • Conjurer's Calling & Extra Arms Being Nerfed? Mike Donais Chatlogs

    Quote From Pullanisu

    PLEASE NERF BARNES

Nerfing Barnes is pretty pointless when Vargoth is the instant hard mulligan 4 drop that instantly replaces Barnes. Plus, Barnes plummets significantly in the late game when used in wild while Vargoth represents repeated and significant threats/value multiple times in the end game.

  • Conjurer's Calling & Extra Arms Being Nerfed? Mike Donais Chatlogs

Unfortunately Extra Arms really is too strong. I wonder if changing it to give +2/+1 would make it more useful than its version at 3 mana. I think I would actually like it that way, still makes your cleric much better. But probably still wouldn't be worth a slot.

But do you think we will get more a more detailed background story of the EVIL league?

Not sure.  I mean, if it is some scheme to revive Deathwing then someone else is behind it, right?  N'Zoth?  I believe he was the original source behind the corruption of Deathwing to bring about the Cataclysm.  And seeing as he was just released in WoW, perhaps he is influencing the events of Hearthstone as well.  He could be using Rafaam for some bigger scheme and steered him towards the others.  And if an Old God is involved, it would make sense why a previously minor character without a name (Madam Lazule) got brought into the scheme in the first place.

Nice read. Now I'm eager to see what the dénouement of this story would be like.

Ultimately I don't expect the story telling depth of WoW in Hearthstone.  So I wouldn't expect to get a better explanation other than Rafaam had a scheme, needed some lovable losers to use in his plans, and he gathered the rest of the EVIL League.

I see. I guess my expectations are just too high, but I really want to see how Blizzard fills some plot holes.

May want to change the title.  It sounds like you are offering a way to buy using coins rather than asking "How do I..."

Yes I came here thinking there was a solution

  • The Way-Too-Early-Nerf Thread

    Quote From YJHS2000
    Quote From TheDreamer

Why do so many people want to nerf so many cards that are nowhere near problematic? Do people want zero powerful cards in the game? With this logic everything except vanilla minions would have to be nerfed.

People want something new, Blizzard comes with something new, deck defining quest, powerful hero cards, powerful Legendary spells and people complain these cards are too good and dont want them in the game. Then people complain about the game being stale.

The problem with these too-powerful cards is that the games become super swingy and devolve into a contest of who draws their OP card first. As someone who played this game before there was a "standard," I miss a lot of the back-and-forth minion play the used to occur. Games felt tighter and more uncertain. Now, once a certain card is played or quest completed, the game is pretty much over. Old insane combos like priest inner fire or Warlock faceless>Leeroy or freeze mage used to take an entire game to set up (maybe old druid Savage roar being the exception), but now, draw the right two cards, and on turn 5 or 6 the game is over.

Agreed, but I dont think there is much of a way to bring the game back to the minion combat. Most of the current decks are built around these super swingy cards, or around one specific. I personally think LPG is fine and should not be nerfed. LPG on 5 is extremely powerful, but so is Secretkeeper in Secret Hunter on 1 or having Myras UE ready for turn 5-7 or even having Zephrys to pull you out of a situation your deck and your class is not supposed to get out of.

I personally dont like the paper, rock, scissors matchups so much more than these “draw THE card” and win. I have absolutely no idea how to fix the game. Im not enjoying the current meta and Im not enjoying the current decks.

  • Interesting video: Just how expensive in dust is the meta compared to previous?

And here' s Hearthstone Mathematics on the same topic, along with plenty of other interesting stats.

Interesting bit: Some F2P players might have been burned by obtaining the single player package for Rise of Shadows, instead of saving up for Saviors.

  • GIANT BEASTS!!!

I had to replace some cards since I don't have all of them in my collection. The ones that worked really well are The Curator and Ramkahen Wildtamer, so maybe you could consider those as well.

The main problem I have is that if I lose the board due to my opponent having one Crab/Crawler/Dragonslayer more than I had, there is no way to get back into the game. That's a general weakness of Hunter though, so I'm not sure it is fixable.

  • The Hearthstone Explorer's Bundle - 20 Standard Packs + 1 Uldum Legendary

Just punched it up for you.  My deck focuses a bit more on some fun interactions with Reincarnate.  One of my favorite combos was Reincarnate+Kel'Thuzad.  Seeing the opportunity to actually make that semi competitive I came up with this.  My biggest collection weakness for 'big' decks is I don't have Y'Sharrj.  I am seriously thinking about crafting it because of this deck.  Big priest never interested me but I could see it being sick in this deck.

Note that some choices (2xdevolve is the biggest) is due to the high number of big priests I see.  Normally unless they get god RNG (which has happened sadly) they are normally easy to farm.

I have a feeling that Rafaam's true intentions will be revealed in the third expansion this year.

Ya. I am also confident, that this will be the case. Some people speculated the return of Deathwing due to his connection to the Neferset tol'virs (led by Dark Pharaoh Tekahn), so the "journey" to Uldum might have something to do with finding a lethal weapon in the Halls of Origination, in order to spread chaos like the dragon wanted.

But do you think we will get more a more detailed background story of the EVIL league?

  • Skull of the Man'ari Biglock

    Woa! That's wild!! +1
    I ended up playing it 5 games in a row : 4-1
As long as you manage to get the Skull of the Man'ari early on and/or a pair of Voidcaller, you are good to go. However, if you don't get a great starting hand, you can always rely on crabbs & cheap spells for removal to keep board control.
    Nicely done!

  • Rock, Paper, Scissors - An Arsenal, Wonderful Waters, and Crazy Combos

Tip the Scales Big Paladin has been pretty fun for me so far. It's just a deck full of thicc bois and removal, drop Tip on 8 and pull a board full of Damaged Stegotrons, Tirion Fordring, and Ragnaros the Firelord

I should try that later. I have three copies of Tip the Scales but I don't usually enjoy murloc decks, so they wouldn't see much play otherwise. Would you like to share your deck?

    Quote From RunaroundMan

Don't know if it counts as spectacular, but Shaman has some good tribal synergies and is a good choice for this brawl. Scargil in particular makes all your minions cost 1 mana, there must be some good stuff possible with this.

I ran into an opponent who managed to get Scargil and Underbelly Angler on the board at the same time; I didn't win that game.

    Quote From MalcolmReynolds

if you are trying to counter the meta, you could also run a Dragonslayer, it is not as good as any of the crabs, but if you are looking for more cheap removal she will do.

For the Warlock deck I don't think more hate cards are necessary and it's more efficient to run the cheapest ones. It might be useful for other classes though.

As for possible crazy combos, there are some echo minions that cost two mana, so in combination with double Mechwarper they can be free. Could be useful with Ship's Cannon. In particular Squashling, which can double as damage with Auchenai Phantasm or [Hearthstone Card (Embrace the Shadows) Not Found], and Hunting Mastiff, which can run into the opponent's minions to free up board space.

The problem is what to do when you don't draw Mechwarper: there aren't many long games in this meta at the moment; I've only played Bloodreaver Gul'dan once so far in over a dozen games. One Mechwarper might be enough, but even then you need a lot of card draw to reliably find it. You could tutor it, but then you could only run a very select few minions.

Oh yeah, games take forever, but are definitely fun! I notice you run Benedictus in both versions. How's he work for you? I don't own him, but could craft. He's always seemed like a fun card to me. He would almost certainly ruin your singleton status though.

I am mainly an FTP player (I've never bought preorders, only 2x starter bundle and rarely single packs). Today I made 500 victories with Shaman! This is my first such achievement, and I play from beta, regularly from WotOG. When a month ago I noticed that I had 400 shaman victories I got down and started with a grind. I played mainly Elemental Shaman in the Wild, agro totem Shaman as standard, but I finished with Even Shaman in Wild. I am very proud of this achievement. Hunter will be next in line, I have 345 wins at the moment and I'm going to play: Midrange, Mech and Highlander Hunter. See you soon, I hope!

Congratulations on your latest achievement and best of luck with your next
Hunter should be fairly quick - unless you get unlucky playing Highlander and get to play most, if not all, of your deck ..!

Like you, Warlock is my primary and am in the process of crafting all Warlock cards in gold.  I still have Warrior and Hunter left... I've never liked playing either class, so these have been the last ones for me.
