If I were to drop a card, Sunreaver Warmage would be the card I put in its place. However even though it's consistently active, the tempo it provides isn't as useful as it is in other decks, because you have a lot of efficient board clears which come down soon after anyway, and you already have proactive 5-mana plays.
I would say say all the quest you mentioned are worth it and I feel only priest is hard to make it work.
Warrior not so much as dr boom is still in standar and I feel that hero power is better for most situations.
Then plague of death (1 copy at least, 2 might be overkill) and psycochomp seem great.
Finally Zephyris (sorry if I misspelleda lot, having trouble writing right now.) feels incredible in Highlander style decks, but I would craft it only if you feel you enjoy the explorers (Tried Elise and Reno and they feel great, still surprised by the last one)or feel like playing wild.
Maybe Corrupt the Waters, because condition is a non-condition, and reward is basically universal for any deck. And powerful.
All the other cards you mentioned have important or even major vulnerabilities that rule them out of 'safety', even if they may turn out to be very good, as i think it is the case for Activate the Obelisk.
Zephrys the Great is granted fun, that's for sure. Yet again, Highlander is not 'safe' right now.
Hi guys. As you may have seen in the salt thread I got fucked this opening. I am also on holiday so unable to play around with all the new stuff to work out what is good.
This leaves me with many desirable quests, legendaries and epics to craft but I know that shit is super risky right now.
Here is a run down of what I need and would appreciate some opinions on whether they will be long term good or not.
I know some of these are definitely not going to be good long term cough Octosari cough I was just looking at my gaps in the set and will prioritize the best ones to craft.
I play primarily on mobile, so it could be something that is more obvious on desktop. Which I haven’t played on since launch. But still I’m sure the number of people who play only mobile or play both, should be enough for them to fix this
It is one of the two Quests that require absolutely normal actions, while having a very low counter (6! The other being Mage): this means you have no Tempo loss whatsoever, except for turn-1.
It is one of the few Quests with VERY powerful reward.
It is the only Quest with a reward that fits nearly any kind of deck, from Aggro to Combo.
Now throw all that in a class that is receiving increased Lackey support...
Those viewing times don't look right. Is it really 6 pm to 1 pm each day (a 19 hour event that goes from early evening to afternoon the next day) or is it 6 am to 1 pm (a 7 hour event that goes from morning until afternoon)? The apparant error is in the official announcement.
Most people are just making their own lists and not replying to what i said specifically but that's alright, i don't mind. I do think i am overestimating rogue a bit, but the oppressive nature of the class in past metas, doubled with how easy the quest is to complete with so few cards leads me to believe it will happen.
to be fair, you said let's talk about quests and there's really no point to just comment on the stuff you've already figured out so instead we just give our own take so you have some comparison
Yes, it tutors for exactly Zephrys. Doubling your chances to draw Zephrys is HUGE. If you have an unused Sandbinder, you likely don't have to play it. This deck has enough staying power to keep blasting away, I even have a good record vs Taunt control warrior.
Yeah I am not sure what the deal is. Since posting I have gone an additional 8-3 and I am now at rank 4 - 4 stars with an overall record of 29-6. I am really in disbelief myself, I have usually just been casual before, I have been to rank 2 once before playing quest rogue before it became popular and was later nerfed. I don't know if people are downvoting because they think I am lying or because they don't like the idea of an aggro hunter deck, but I am no expert player and I feel like I could ride this deck to legend for the first time without sweating.
It is ludicrously easy to complete, it fits basically any deck, from Lackey to Shudderwock, its reward is bonkers.
Yes i'm salty, but i am convinced it's bound to cancerize the meta in the same way Shamanstone did.
There, i have cast my Curse.☠️
Most of the quests are ridiculously easy to complete while the rest are almost impossible to complete ever. Take the druid’s quest for example and the warlock’s one. How the fuck is this balanced?
Honestly, this expansion is the laziest of all, so much broken shit.
Ok, so few days pased, there can be found pros' versions of decks, quest shaman including:
Deck ID Not Found
This list is heavily inspired by the one by Theo, the only change I made was GInventor -> Hagatha the Swamp Queen.
I noticed that shammy quest decks have been moving towards very low curve, with cards mostly as costly as 4 mana, while it makes sense, since you wanna use hero power every turn and and spend all that value the deck is creating, I don't really like that direction.
So, above is a diffirent approach (full lackey package for early game is a keep ofc), with 5 strong aoes, Walking Fountains for healing and super valuable cards with quest like Swampqueen, Siamat or Barrista. Of course with Shudderwock and completed by Archivist, a staple in control shaman.
Totally agree here. Was playing with a friend who froze 5 minions 1 had reborn and the others didnt. Got confused and attacked the one with reborn, wich game me exact lethal
Looks incredibly fun not gonna lie. Only stuff I'm missing is Reno and King Phaoris but don't feel like they're worth crafting at the moment. Phaoris can probably be replaced but Reno is quite impactful
Before SoU the meta was so stale that I can feel the pain of a streamer that should face the same 3 decks for like 4-8 h of stream.
Also the Specialist format was so terrible that even tournaments' views have dropped (again seeing only 3 decks being played make it so terrible).
The first few weeks of a new expansion set are always good, but in the long run we can only hope that there will not be such a polarized meta towards so fews decks.
Uldum Standard Big Spell Mage

Imo, there is no real safe craft this expansion.
Maybe Corrupt the Waters, because condition is a non-condition, and reward is basically universal for any deck. And powerful.

What is your favorite non-legendary card from SoU?
Wasteland Assassin because i like the art

Corrupt the Waters

Bazaar Burglary
Activate the Obelisk
Hack the System
Zephrys the Great
Anka, the Buried
Octosari
King Phaoris
Psychopomp
Plague of Death
Tortollan Pilgrim
Micro Mummy
And all 4 new explorer cards.
I know some of these are definitely not going to be good long term cough Octosari cough I was just looking at my gaps in the set and will prioritize the best ones to craft.
Thanks in advance for help/opinions

Excellent post and layout! And nice feature by our benevolent overlords! Seriously, very cool to see that in the launcher and on Twitter.

Let's talk about the quests.
As far as i can see, the only dangerous Quest is Corrupt the Waters.
For 3 reasons:

Yep Tier S for Sam. Totally legit naming, and it makes sense too 😜
Bazaar Burglary
why don't you show what the hero power is? considering that's the reason i clicked this card in the first place
