I should say, simple code is only as good as what it does, i.e. it is best to be simple but that comes after functionality. No doubt many of the bug fixes over the years have actually been making relatively simple bits of code a little bit more complicated.
In the case of the Mogu Cultist, we don't yet know what functionality they chose when writing the code (there is no explicit mention of 7 minions), so it could yet go either way. And honestly I want it to work with dormant minions because I have been struggling to come up with many ways to use the card outside of rogue.
The bolded part was one of my arguments as well, but I don't think that the devs would allow such free interpretation of the card description. Normally it's not their style, but just like you I am also curious to see whether this is the case.
I have a question regarding coding though. In which cases is functionality better than simple coding other than the example of fixing some bugs? Like you know, I'm not a programmer, but isn't writing a complex code more likely to cause a lot of bugs and weird scenarios?
(this is an old video, dunno if the bug is fixed by now)
This interaction was caused by an old patch (I think this is the one), because the devs wanted to change how copy effects work.
Anyway if you are looking for a fun deck, which aims to summon Highkeeper Ra, I would suggest building a duplicate druid deck and run Elise the Enlightened and Flobbidinous Floop. You would need the duplicates, in order to survive the early- and mid-game. And the combo would take place very late in the game anyway, so there's no need to make a highlander build. Once you draw enough cards and Elise starts to glow yellow, you could play the 5/5, Floop would turn into her and you would have two Elises in hand, allowing you to duplicate your hand again. Depending on how many cultists you had prior playing Elise, you would need either 1 or 2 turns in order to generate all needed cultists and go for the 20/20 afterwards.
I saw some warlock decks running the Quest, Glinda Crowskin, Baleful Banker (who will shuffle Glinda, you would be able to draw her with the HP and reduce her cost to 0), Mogu Cultist (obviously) and Demonbolt (in order to kill your Glinda on the final turn).
If you are looking for a somewhat competitive deck, then yeah, rogue decklists would be your best option. If the cultist-dormant combo does work like I want it to, cultist decks won't be viable yet, because Lucentbark takes a lot of time to be multiplied and the deck is super vulnerable to aggro, silence (Plague of Death) and transform effects (Plague of Murlocs).
It is probably not a bug. It is likely they did this on purpose to give you a small piece of the new expansion. They have done things comparable in the past with Marin the Fox and Archmage Vargoth. While the latter cards are legendary, at least it is something to tide you over for the next few days until release. Also worth noting is that they implemented this on the 2nd day of the season as opposed to the 31st day of the season so nobody gets butthurt about their ranking!
Oh you give them too much credit. It is 100% a fail, but obviously if they ever admit it, they will spin it as a feature. They messed up arena among other things too, this patch had many failures :)
I thought to put in a board buff but there is no realy good one. The silver sword would be but it´s eight mana.
This deck has a huge advantage. It does not need much from the new expansion. So it might be one of the wait a bit to craft decks that run over all decks trying to build nice combos. It overal one of the cheaper decks with only Nomi as legend.
Just wanted to put this out there: I've hosted a bunch of actual public Gatherings over the last couple years, and it's wicked fun. You meet local people who love to play Hearthstone, and generally have a blast. Plus, I've added a ton of folks to my friends list for 80 gold challenges.
I also love that you can do these privately too, for people who don't want to do public ones. I have gotten a few people location-spoofing because they want to get Nemsy or the Fireside cardback. I think it's lame, since they can just make their own Gathering.
Pre-release Gatherings are extra fun because of the special No Cards Barred brawl. You can whip up some CRAZY decks! Underbelly Fence is a good card, right? Why not run 14 of them?

I've been thinking about Taunt Warrior for a while. My biggest concern was about it's ability to win games, but I have a feeling that if the deck can survive the early-phase, it can win by value.
The general gameplan is to buff and play Taunt minions (are you guys shocked?). I believe the deck provides tempo with the buff cards and the mech package (a buffed Bronze Gatekeeper can be decisive). Tomb Warden is also there to win the midgame.
My biggest problem is about the card slots. Currently my deck contains 34 cards, therefore I should cut 4. What do you think, which cards are less necessary than the rest?

Sometimes your venue has to be "verified," which I think means you've had more than one Fireside at that location. otherwise, today should be your day to enjoy those sweet new packs!
I started off exclusively playing hunter (since I was brand new to any kind of CCG beyond actually collecting Pokémon cards simply because I loved all things Pokémon regardless of context at the time), but eventually noticed that within a year there was often 1-2 dominant classes with 2-3 other secondary classes that would challenge or overcome one or both of the top classes, and the cycle would run through each class.
If money isnt' a big deal and you like playing 8 of the 9 classes, just keep collecting and enjoying the game the way you play it! It seems like you'll always have viable options unless hunter become so utterly broken that all 8 other classes fail to challenge it at all in the future, so just keep ignoring hunter and collecting all the cards you want.
If you really dislike hunter, that can be your auto-disenchant class for extra dust for other classes.
Seems like an arbitrary thing tbh. Downvotes are "I don't like this but I don't feel the need to explain" and the same goes for upvotes being for things one does agree with with no additional information to add.
it's not that people should be forced to add comment if they simply disagree, because someone can just as easily ignore a comment if there's no downvote option and the effect is now the OP of that comment wondering "Did they disagree or just not see it?" Either outcome doesn't matter because without response or downvote, there was no positive response.
I like the downvote option, since I'll usually voice my opinion if I want to add to the discourse, but the option to simply say "Nah" in a generalized way is better than posting a single "Nah" if I want to disagree without expounding. Trying to force dialogue isn't better than allowing it to happen when users want it engage.
Soooooo... I'm a big fan of everything PvE oriented in every game, and of course HS adventures aren't the exception.
As they said in the Pre-Release patch notes of SoU, the new title of the adventure will be Tombs of Terror, and that... leaves a lot to expeculate!
Given that the devs of HS really did something different for RoS, they might go back to the basics and do an old school adventure (which I'm really hoping for even tough I reeeeeeeally liked the dungeon/witchwood/rumble/heist runs).
So, my little guess (and hope...) is, a bit of both, like, different wings or chapters, where in some of them, you got to solve puzzles (a la Boomsday), or fight through a couple of minions and a big baddie to reach another wing of the tomb (like a dungeon run), then pick a hero (the explorers) and fight each one of the 4 lesser E.V.I.L. guys (like old adventures), and a real big fight against Rafaam, in a style like the one against Agatha in Witchwood with the 4 heroes being hero cards with unique effects. And then, after beating Rafaam, the real bad guy appears... Tekhan! Revealing himself to be allied with Deathwing! Giving a clear hint to the next expansion.
Well... That's what I really hope for, and I wanted to share it.
Thank you so much for the highly informative post. If I could, I would have pinned it. You did a wonderful job at explaining the most likely coding possibilities for Reliquary Seeker, minions that don't require a full board (Frostwolf Warlord) and Mogu Cultist.
I just don't know how to continue our little conversation further. You are definitely right, that Mogu Cultist's code would look like so:
for(i=1; i<=7; i++)
{if(space i != Mogu Cultist) {battlecry = fail; break;}}
if(battlecry != fail){activate battlecry;}
and won't contain any other variables, in order to keep things clean and simple. And like I said in my previous posts, I also expect seeing that outcome for the exact same reasons. Logic and practicality aren't on my side. But hope dies last, as the saying goes, so I look forward to Tuesday as well.
A Less Friendly Game of Chess
Tried running Drakkari Enchanter to double up on attacks.
Didn't work. I guess Auto-Attack isn't considered an end of turn effect.

Fish restaurant (Murlocadin might be back)
When seeing Tip the Scales i had to make a theme deck.
So lets open a fish retaurant.
So what do you need. Well a lot of fish and if that fish runs out the chef will get realy angry.
Nomi is the chef here and he has two cook apprentices, siver knives and a cat that loves fish and will bring more.
How do you use it ? Well serve fish till you opponent overeats and if that´s not enough nomi will roast him.
Straight forward deck flood the board, trade and roll over your opponent. Maybe it works due to being so "braindead"

Recent Patch with a hidden Nerf to Questrogue
Quest rogue is still so badly designed that they had to nerf it again. Sounds like they're making sure their cards work consistently. Good nerf!
Anyone else having trouble updating on mobile?
Hope you find a resolution! I play mobile on Apple with no issues so far aside from the odd crash now and again, nothing regarding the update.
You can use SoU cards in the brawl!
Interesting! Can you verify with a picture? I'd love to see some reborn cards alongside those chess pieces
