People are overrating this card. It won't be game breaking. I played lot's of thief rogue recently both in standard and wild. And you have to have that healing. The quest reward contradicts Spectral Cutlass and without it I don't see how can rogue survive till the endgame. So it can't be the control killer deck.
If you play the usual tempo deck with some of the burgle cards you won't complete the quest that early. On avarage I'd say around turn 6-7. After that the weapon is very strong but aggro could have killed you till that point. And I don't think Dr. Boom cares if you had a 3 attack weapon.
What I love is this could be huge against mage. It will be a lot easier to clear the giants.
Maybe the deck can be focused on finishing quest as fast as you can with some non-optimal burgle cards and the weapon carries the game, I don't know.
ok i was wrong the card's just broken with addition of Clever Disguise
Just because current versions of priest do not utilize minions does not mean that priest cannot utilize minions. The hero power effect is insanely strong. This quest will create a brand new archetype all by itself
Priest cannot utilize minions because good early game priest minions do not exist LUL
Northshire Cleric is one of the best 1-drops in the game. Priest also got an insane 2 and 3 drop this expansion. Don't forget Auchenai Phantasm which is also a very strong early game minion, and which will thrive in a deck with healing spells and abilities. Priest has strong early game minions, and then there are the neutral minions too.
Resurrecting deathrattle minions and giving them reborn is the only scary scenario imho. So, logically, this card would fit some standard deathrattle decks or wild N'Zoth, the Corruptor's. But I think, that, since you want your Psychopomp's battlecry to land on such minions, you would either run only one copy of him or two, but you have to play both of them together. You also don't want to run other minions beside deathrattles, so Northshire Cleric, Questing Explorer or Wretched Reclaimer mustn't be used. And this would be a bummer, because the Etheral synergizes with N'zoth decks a lot better (Twilight's Call) and doesn't have a terrible body. Not only that, but in my eyes Psychopomp makes more sense to be run in a greedy list - I mean, you don't want to play a 4 mana 3/1 just to resurrect Dead Ringer. You would want him to resurrect stuff like Convincing Infiltrator, Sylvanas Windrunner, Sneed's Old Shredder or Cairne Bloodhoof and Mechanical Whelp in standard.
I guess he could be also quite good in summoning Catrina Muerte and some minions with a lot of health (Witchwood Grizzly) in the standard Inner Fire ress priest deck, but he can also ruin the resurrect pool - you don't want Muerte to revive him or to get a 3/1 from Mass Resurrection.
This is such a strong quest, the reward is way too good, the requirements not so high... I won't say it's gonna be nerfed cause normally quests are hard to evaluate most of them sucked last time.
Actually, Rogue, Priest, Warrior and Mage quests saw a lot of serious ladder play. Pala and Druid quests created at least nice meme decks. Warlock quest was awfully designed but also saw at least some ladder games in tier 4 decks. Only shaman and hunter sucked in such a way that they were neither fun nor good. So I don't think it is "most of them". And the proportions will probably be more or less the same, which would be fine with 4 quests spawning good meta decks, 2-3 meme tiers and 2-3 not good enough for any purpose. Cheers!
Yeah actually you're right. Also it would limit alternate Hero Powers to Odd decks. What if they printed a neutral Singleton support card this expansion that reads "Start of Game: If you have no duplicates in your deck, Discover an alternate Hero Power"
I want some of whatever it is you all are smoking because this card is hot garbage
Do you not remember how badly heal paladin and heal druid went? Paladins needed to heal 10 for their "quest" and druids needed 5. This quest requires 15. The hardest part of these quests is usually hitting yourself so you can heal at all and unlike the other two classes, you can't even punch things with your face. You'll need to play cards that hit yourself (which is bad tempo and value) and then play cards that heal yourself (which is bad tempo and value). On top of that, priest healing cards are ironically less powerful than both druid and paladin healing cards. What are you going to do? Radiance and emote?? Hero power 8 times?
I know the quest doesn't specify that the healing needs to be on your own face, but let's be real here: priests don't get to have minions on the board. That's doubly unfortunate because +3/+3 to an active minion is very different from +3/+3 to one that can't attack yet
You can try wild pyromancers but most of the time, if your deck is built around them, you need to throw them out there to clear boards. And sometimes you don't draw your circles in a timely manner. Pyro packages are big and take up a lot of card slots. If you're running that as the quest activator, it's unlikely you'll be able to fit in back up options and you're going to be sad if you're forced to play out both of them or if they're bottom deck. It also means your deck will be extremely spell heavy, which means less minions for your quest reward to buff
Priest is the only class to have cheap AoE healing, which should optimally take care of the bulk of your healing. That is one of the main reasons why Paladin has a hard time reaching its healing quota. Also, because Paladin is known for small dudes, which are bad healing targets. Priest is known for big dudes, which are good healing targets.
Ornery Tortoise and Crystallizer are the only self-harming cards which people are seriously considering for this quest, both which have good tempo (especially Ornery Tortoise).
Why is everyone arguing so much over this? It's very difficult to predict what Blizzard will do (given recent developments like the Boomsday Buffs), but given that they already HoF'med Genn and Baku they likely won't change them unless an odd or even deck becomes too oppressive in Wild for them to ignore, which is likely not the case at the moment. Also, no one responded to my idea of making Baku grant you an alternate Hero Power (from Dalaran Adventure Content, NOT the recent Quest cards) and maybe buffing it to 7-Mana to compensate. I don't really feel like Baku is overpowered, I just feel like she's very boring, and that my version could be much cooler.
But at that point maybe printing a new card is more functional to them.
It's basically a new card with new design, it would be a waste of design effort to apply it to a Wild-only card, without Standard.

Spellslinger is the worst card in the game. Never pick this shitty card man, all he does is give your opponents good stuff like wtf, I have never gotten a spell above 2 mana from this guy and he gives my opponents a Hex or a freaking Lightbomb
Having played a lot of Tempo AND Tess rogue separately this definitley fits into Tempo better.
Tess is more of a control deck and relies heavily on a never ending Spectral Cutlass.
In Tempo however this is pretty insane. You can activate it by turn 5 incredibly easily via cards like Burgle, Blink Fox & Hench-Clan Burglar to name a few. Don’t forget the echo card either. You’ll have issues playing against fellow rogues though but the same can be said for playing Tess Greymane in these situations.
I think this is incredibly powerful simply because it’s so easy to activate and is such an upgrade. It’s got a built in Deadly Poison and you’re immune. You could in theory kill off giants without taking damage if you have 2 x deadly poison and Captain Greenskin however this seems a bit slow for the cyclone mage curve. Turn 6 on coin you could start going to town on them. It will be really good against aggro though and as people have mentioned will work well with Blade Flurry.
I think the archetype has potential, but it may be a bit tricky to make it work. For example, Psychopomp and could be used to generate more values, plus reborn minions that can be healed, but then, what do you remove? Tricky.

New Rogue Spell - Bazaar Burglary
Really nice in burgle rogue (will you still run cutlass?). Not useful in tempo rogue decks, too slow and requires too many deck sacrifices.
New Priest Spell - Activate the Obelisk

The Finley Brotherhood
Midrange Reno Pally? Interesting, will def try to tinker with it. Already can question why no Tarim or Zilliax? They are just too good to pass up imo.
Edit: murloc stuff feels underwhelming, not sure about spiteful. Mech/deathrattle seems good tho, will test more.
Psychopomp

other classes quests seem to have more lategame value. It feels slow. If it can buff without healing a minion (heal for 0) then maybe playable.

Midrange Quest Priest (updated)
3 copies of Circle of Healing? I know it's good in this deck, but... ;)
Don't forget Wild Pyromancer, if you can damage you opponent's minions and heal them with Circle of Healing you can complete the quest in no time.
And, why Shieldbreaker if you have Silence, Mass Dispel or even Spellbreaker? I don't get it.
I'm also not convinced about Grandmummy, I'd probably use Questing Explorer or another Neferset Ritualist instead.
I think the archetype has potential, but it may be a bit tricky to make it work. For example, Psychopomp and could be used to generate more values, plus reborn minions that can be healed, but then, what do you remove? Tricky.
