  • Jade Shudderwock Shaman, but it's a deck on an account I haven't played on since Karazham

I second doingtheobvious' choices. Devolve is an absolutely insane card that should be an auto include in nearly every shaman deck, just like Maelstrom Portal.

Aya Blackpaw is the best legendary out of the suggestions that you mentioned (and a natural fit in any jade deck) and Hagatha the Witch is indeed a better option than Swampqueen Hagatha.

  • Calling All Big Priests!

I like playing it once in a while because it lets me turn off my brain and relax. But it absolutely has been nerfed and feels like absolute nightmare to play agains. I have hit the highest of highs and lowest of lows while playing this deck, and it is just stupid how big the difference is

  • Screams of the Old Gods! (1 New Legendary, 22 Card Buffs)

Cool concept, but let me critise yet another card: Yor'shaj the Shrieker.  Add Yor'shaj and C'thun to any deck, and you have an alternative win condition. And it also is a great token card: Yor'shaj + 1,2 Boardbuffs, and you build a strong board ~about as strong as the twinspell treants~ with at most three cards! Of course, this is wild, and such a combo wouldn't be unheard of, but in combination with the "C'thun deck in two cards" this card may make the other changes irrelevant, since it is good enough on its own to cary the archetype.

  • Calling All Big Priests!

As I've said in these discussions before, I do occasionally play Big Priest.  However, I also play pretty much EVERY OTHER deck type.  Sometimes it's just fun to high roll a few wins here and there before going back to some C'Thun deck, or my Tempo Mech Rogue deck I built simply because I wanted to play Iron Sensei.

The hatred for this deck is similar to the old Shudderwock Infinite Combo.  People absolutely hated it because when you got the combo rolling there was no way to win.  However, the deck's winrate was only about 51% on average when they nerfed SCG to stop the Shudderwock combo.  Similar to Big Priest, it feels so bad when they Barnes on 3/4 and get the nuts like Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound.  But because they don't always draw what they need quick enough they don't actually dominate in Win Rate.

Which brings up an interesting question: If average 51% win rate for the Shudderwock Combo was enough reason to nerf SCG, why is an average win rate a reason to NOT nerf anything with Big Priest?  The main complaint I hear is usually "Nerf Barnes", which I'd actually be fine with.  You could keep the flavor and original intent by making him summon a 1/1 Actor token that gains an enchantment of the text from a random minion in your deck.  The only real change is silence makes the token a plain 1/1 instead of a full stated silenced minion.  And a resurrected token would also be plain 1/1 instead of a fully stated minion with it's card text.  Besides, Vargoth easily replaces the spot of Barnes if he got nerfed, and in some cases Vargoth can be much stronger in that deck than Barnes.

  • Calling All Big Priests!

Winning with big priest feels like extended BM. It pisses people off which can be funny at times. So if I felt like trolling I would take a big Priest deck for a spin.

Horrible excuse that holds no water whatsoever. Read the priest section https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/wild-vs-data-reaper-report-18/

This is what I have been saying for a while now. Big priest isn't the strongest priest deck in the game. It's the most braindead one, which is why so many people play it. You included, apparently.

Tbh, big priest doesn’t matter because wild doesn’t matter

  • Jade Shudderwock Shaman, but it's a deck on an account I haven't played on since Karazham

    Jade Shudderwock (WIP)

Wild · Jade Shaman · by Neoguli · 7 years, 2 months ago

Hi everyone! I've finally decided to return to Hearthstone since over a year and a half. My main motivation was to see if a new player could still do some stuff, but in the end I decided to play on my account that I haven't played Hearthstone on since Karazham. Yes, Karazham, which equals not playing on it for 3 years.

But anyway, I still had quite a lot of cards to work with and over 700 spare dust. I decided to disenchant my golden Ysera (don't ask how it happened xd), craft Shudderwock and eight Jade Golem generating cards. Then I filled the deck with the rest of good stuff that seemed fit. And it went somewhere like 4 wins and 2 losses yesterday.

In the future, I'm considering this deck to be teched around. I thought of soon teching in Mechanical Whelp, Aya Blackpaw and Da Undatakah against classes whose mass removal is still playable even after Loatheb's cost increase, like Druid and Warrior. But for the normal version, I'm thinking of crafting Swampqueen Hagatha.

What do you think of this deck for now?

  • [Game] Deck Doctor Challenge!

In regards to the paladin, good job thinking of putting Joybuzz in the deck.  I didn't put much effort into the non-duel version because I couldn't build/test it in my collection Joybuzz is definitely a card, in both the original and your OTK version.  Personally I think the OTK strays a little too far from the original concept but hey, you still made a cool deck that works which is more relevant because the OG concept might not be even possible.  I have to disagree with the humilities though; when mages play an early giant, they threaten conjurer's calling on the following turn and humility doesn't help with that problem unless you already have a board.  Otherwise, it seems like a good deck

Regarding 9 lives in the hunter deck, I was surprised how not terrible it was in the video as well after I posted my thoughts on it.  Before this, I've only seen the card played in the aggro mech hunter (where it's low tempo/low value in a face deck) and in the oblivitron mech hunter (where it's low tempo/high value in a deck that's already very high value and struggles not to fall behind on board).  It hasn't occurred to me to use it on sn1p-sn4p as a low tempo/high value play in a deck that's decent at keeping up on board but often lacks value (sn1p-sn4p also hasn't been printed when I last evaluated the card lol).  I still think it's not that good though; even on ursatron it's 6 mana 3/3 draw 2, whereas a beast hunter can 3 mana draw 3 and have 3 mana left over to develop more than just 3/3 of stats.  It also doesn't require drawing, playing and having a choice deathrattle minion die

Checking out the new decks now.  I already watched the warlock episode, so I'm not going to do it (it feels like cheating!).  I think the final deck could use some omega agents though, especially with Barista

  • Screams of the Old Gods! (1 New Legendary, 22 Card Buffs)

Updated the sheets again. Took the Master of Evolution out and made Eternal Sentinel a battlecry/deathrattle. I also simplified my changes to ancient shieldbearer, keeping it the same mana, making it battlecry/deathrattle. I put Tentacles for Arms up to 3.

Gotta disagree on people saying Feral Rage is op at 2 mana. +4 attack and +8 armor appropriate 2 mana effects. It's better than Heroic Strike, but not by 1 mana.

Blade of C'thun is at 6 to keep it out of odd rogue, but 8 is just still too slow. It's a high tempo card, but 6 feels good when compared to Vilespine Slayer. If C'thun Rogue is ever going to work, it needs serious control tools, I hope this might do the trick.

    ---------

Generally speaking, Wild is very high powered. There are lots of cards that are unsalvageable for the format, their effects just aren't going to do anything impressive enough. I tried to target cards that are on the cusp of playability in the format, or cards with unique features.

Very cool to get all this feedback so quickly.

I'd be curious to see other people attempt this kind of project. I might do Goblins and Gnomes and the Grand Tournament. I skimmed through the more recent wild sets, and lots of those cards are still played, it'd be difficult to do this process to Gadgetzan or Journey to Un'goro. They're full really great cards and cards that can't be saved.

OTK Wrath + infinite Da Undatakar

so much love to any pro who brings such an out there deck to a competition

    Dog went down 2-0 uhhh

really recommend checking out Purple's matches.

OTK/ Undatakah paladin is not actually that rare in specialist format.  The main weakness of OTK paladin is warrior, but if you hit one, you can just use your Undatakah secondary deck.  You don't mind losing your 1st game because your 2nd and 3rd games will be extremely favored

Paladin is actually so not rare, that people were bringing tertiary decks teched with 3 mana 3/4 battlecry make your face immune to spells one turn at one point.  Warriors with anti mech/silence heavy packages are common too

In addition to what has already been pointed out (Anomalus killing himself, and some targeted effects becoming a Deathrattle):

I do however quite like the changes to Infest, Forbidden Ancient, and Ancient Harbinger.

The thing is that the majority of big priest players don't visit any forums because they most likely don't know how to read. So good luck getting an answer from them.

    Lol.

As i akready wrote tons of times, i am pretty sure the main traits loved by BP players are:

    1) extreme abuse of synergies, to the point of the feeling of cheating.

2)connected to #1, knowing you are playing a deck that upsets people: it's like trolling in a forum.

3)almost no decision making in key moves: the player is never really responsible of their losses. Highroll is.

If one likes BP, they like at least one of the above traits, more probably all of them. None of them is virtuous. All of them are toxic. Even in Wild.

None of the above justifies the deck staying at average winrates.

ALL of the above are normally the definition of MEME DECK (t4 in the very best case).

So now you can judge how much a deck should win based on moral?

While I not think it should be left untouched your post is more toxic than any big priest player.

While I do like the idea of doing more little events like this, buffing up various cards that didn’t see too much play, there are a few here I don’t entirely agree with.

Feral Rage really doesn’t need the power boost, it’s already at a good power level for what it does, the main problem being just that Blizz printed armor gain cards that outshone it. Power creep is unavoidable over a long enough amount of time, but it’s not a reason to raise the power of well balanced cards.

Infested Wolf I feel like, while it wasn’t quite strong enough to see a ton of consistent play, a cost reduction might be a bit too much. +1 attack honestly might be enough to get it in the spotlight

Anomalous would be a bit of a problem only really because of the DK. With her existing, Anomalous would be an autoinclude. Godson already saw play for the smal board clear and heal, this definitely would. Maybe have it be two smaller clears instead?

Lightlord I’m really on the fence about, as it was never actually a bad card, it’d see play if control Pally was more common, but it’s more the deck itself rather than the card that causes it to not be played.

Tentacles would be a problem at 2. Aggressive warrior decks manage to resurface every few expansions, due to the charge minions and the weapons the class has. Giving Warrior a really cheap, infinite weapon would be a massive boost to any aggressive decks.

Ancient Shieldbearer would probably be fine with just the cost reduction. The GVG equivalent saw a lot of play, with only half the armor, and if C’Thun decks were ever a thing, this would definitely see play with it. Seems like it’d be way too easy to gain massive bursts of armor, for not much investment.

Darkshire definitely doesn’t need the buff. It already saw a good bit of play back in the day, and cheap card draw is something that can get too strong very easily.

    Thanks for the Feedback!

You pointed out some problems, im going to fix them.

Im erring on the side of 'thats too good' with some of the changes. But even if these cards saw use in standard, they are almost never used in wild. Darkshire is occasionally, but not regularly, I'd like to see him return as a staple for zoo and make discard better.

I play a lot of Wild, currently at legend, so I'm feeling confidant that none of these changes are just going to make a tier 1 or tier 2 deck better.

    • Feral Rage, Infested Wolf, Ancient Shieldbearer and Darkshire Librarian were already absolutely playable cards. All of them were run when they were in Standard. Obviously this is aimed at Wild, but I don't know if bumps like this to give classes bigger swings in power are the right way to balance Wild out more. Certainly buffing unused cards to make interesting archetypes work is fun, but C'Thun Warrior and Zoo Warlock have existed - making them relevant again or just more powerful doesn't feel exciting, imo.
    • Anomalus will kill itself with its Battlecry. 16-damage to everything is cool, of course, but probably not what you were going for?
    • Master of Evolution's Battlecry is targeted, it can't be made into a Deathrattle. You'd need to make it affect a random friendly minion, which feels almost like a nerf overall, not sure.
    • Hammer of Twilight becoming infinite value - essentially a better Tentacles for Arms - probably wouldn't break anything, but feels like something they want to avoid doing too much of. Giving another class infinite value might not be a good idea.
    • Speaking of Tentacles for Arms, Blackwater Pirate is happy for whatever broken combo just made them relevant. There's a reason Tentacles for Arms costs (5).

I like that you picked a semi-theme to go with; creating more "Battlecry and Deathrattle" minions. It's a cool design space and you've mostly nailed cards that won't break too badly if changed to that.

  • How much gold/dust will you have for next expansion?

1.6k plus everything i get before it comes out.

I already have the 80 pack bundle so i guess i'll have around 100 packs.

I don't have much dust laying around but I also have some goldens I can DE and stuff like that.

  • Screams of the Old Gods! (1 New Legendary, 22 Card Buffs)

Glad I tricked you! Haha, tried to make it look legit.

Good call on Anomalus! I'll change that and update it.

But Cho'gall could actually be very useful. I imagine doing it like this: Cho'gall+Twisting Nether (or some other spell that kills cho'gall) then Rafaams Scheme (or some other spell that generates minions). Or perhaps Cho'gall+Cataclysm+Nether Portal for a discard quest warlock. Because we're breaking mana limits with a card like this, I expect its mostly about doing strange meme combos. The life loss is already devastating.

Master of Evolution, good call. I guess the deathrattle would be randomly chosen, but that's different than how the battlecry works. So you're right, its not functional. I'll remove it and add something else.

  • Screams of the Old Gods! (1 New Legendary, 22 Card Buffs)

Fun fact: I didn't notice this was in the Fan Creations section, so I was briefly tricked into believing it was real :P

Some of these are not really doable: if Cho'gall dies during your opponent's turn, for example, it won't proc the Deathrattle for you. Master of Evolution is a big No, because you cannot have a situation where the opponent can make a choice on your turn. Anomalus would kill himself with his Battlecry, as well; he would need to say "all other minions."

Some of these should definitely happen, though. Like, why the fuck is Tentacles for Arms 5-mana?
