  • Calling All Big Priests!

I think the dev is probably right. In Magic the Gathering, the developers have three basic player profiles that they use to design cards for: Timmy, Johnny and Spike. Spike represents competitive players who value winning above all else, Johnnies like combos and weird card interactions and Timmies, well, they like to play big stuff and win massively, even if they end up losing more often than not.

If we apply these player profiles to HS, I think it's pretty clear that Priest as a class would primarily appeal to Johnnies, whereas the big priest deck is clearly every Timmy's wet dream. And since there are staggeringly few decks where putting a bunch of 8+ mana minions in your deck results in any wins at all, it makes sense that this deck in particular would attract players who otherwise don't care for the priest class.

And this brings us to why Blizzard has been so reluctant to address BP: for every two wild players who hate the deck there's probably a BP fanboy who only plays wild because the deck exists. They can't please everybody. The best way to defuse the situation, IMO, would involve introducing new cards that counter resurrection (to a degree) as well as promoting new archetypes that appeal to this player type. If you just hose BP into the dirt a lot of players will be furious and some number of them might quit the game, or at least loudly declare that they will.

Plague of Madness - 2 - A very interesting card for Rogue. It is a combo trigger and spot removal rolled into a super cheap spell. It does have the drawback of giving your opponent the same removal option, but you're almost always playing tempo if you're an arena rogue. I think this will quickly be a 1 score card once we get to test it.

Psychopomp - 2 - It looks like a pretty solid deal for 4 mana. You get the 3/1 plus the rez'd minion and reborn will make one more copy by the time all is said and done. Even if it's a vanilla 2/3 you rez you're getting 3/1 + 2/3 + 2/1 for 4 mana. If you get a little lucky with a value minion (deathrattle, taunt, etc.) with the first rez this card's value is bonkers. The vulnerability to pings is the only thing preventing me from giving it a 1 but that's likely a silly concern.

  • Calling All Big Priests!

I don't want this to just be another Big Priest bitching thread. Complaining about Big Priest has done nothing to make Blizzard understand what the problem is.

Instead, I want to hear from people who play Big Priest, and hear why they enjoy playing it.

    Let me explain:

In the recent Developers AMA. This was said by Iksar about Big Priest:

"Statistically speaking, Big Priest is pretty average. However, it's one of the most played decks. One of the easiest explanations for this is that players like playing the deck."

I personally consider this statement to be completely out of touch with the community. From everything I've ever seen in discussions with Big Priest, even Priest players hate the deck.

So I want anyone who plays Big Priest, to just post why they play it. I want to get an idea if Blizzard is correct in saying that players like playing it, or if there are other reasons that Blizz is oblivious to for why people play it.

  • New Priest Minion - Psychopomp

This is basically shaping up to be payback time for priest.  Priest is so shit right now, but with this reborn crap and that freaking silence and clear everything, it may be a whole new can of whoop-ass for Anduin.

  • Deck Building - Infinite Undatakah Priest

I thought about the Villain+ Undatakah combo, but since I don't have the latter and it strikes me as a meme deck I haven't experimented with it.

That said, my hunch is that you'd be better off with a different secondary deathrattle than Test Subject since very few decks are running more than one silence, so you really don't need infinite Undatakahs in hand alongside your immortal ones on board. Also, you can't play more than one Undatakah per turn, so you'd rather get maximum tempo out of the ones you have, EG Mechanical Whelp or the like.

  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

Fuck people who play Odd Pally in casual. Like seriously, wtf?

  • Deck Building - Infinite Undatakah Priest

Hey everyone!  A few days ago I had a neat idea that I haven't seen yet, and after getting back from vacation finally had an opportunity to give it a go.  I give you, Infinite Undatakah Priest.

    https://outof.cards/hearthstone/decks/3021-infinite-undatakah

As you can see in the guide, at its core, it's a Control Priest deck, but with a neat ending.  The set up for the combo is to play (and have die) Test Subject (or two) and Recurring Villain.  Then, once you play Da Undatakah and cast Seance, you go infinite when Da Undatakah dies, and depending on what is in the Deathrattle pool, you either get two Seances or resummon Da Undatakah twice (if you've cast at least one Arms on Recurring Villain).

If you end up with multiple copies of Seance in your loop, you can then also go infinite with Grave Horrors.

Elysianna is there to not die in fatigue.

Flex spots are definitely Elysianna and Madame Lazul, and probably others.

As the guide says, this deck is mostly garbage but it's fun nonetheless.  Play it, test it, have fun with it, let me know what you'd change...Enjoy!

  • E.V.I.L. Fire Fest - How are your runs?

    Staff

Did it with Shaman finally at 38:20 lol.

Was actually rather funny run. In first game, i managed to change all my minions to Tunnel Troggs. I was feeling pretty good about it, for about a second. I had one Overload card in my deck and didnt get offered another one until like 4th boss. But the one Feral Spirit i did have, i got relatively often, the deck was small after all, so it was kinda working out. At worse i had a 1-drop to evolve twice next turn rather consitently.

I won the game vs Rag by changing all my minions second time to Lifedrinkers for the face damage at one point. Could not compete with the value and dmg Rag was putting out, so i went yolo. He was making some stupid face hits with the weapon into my few high attack minions, so i just leaned into the smorc and it paid off :)

Notifications are not implemented just yet. But they are one of the top priority things we want to bring to you asap.

The best you can do for now is to go to your profile and under Threads tab, you can see in which threads did you respond and you can go and check those threads. Sadly that is it for now. But notifications should be in real soon.

    - NEW CARD -

    1=Excellent, 2=Good, 3=Average, 4=Poor, 5=Terrible

Psychopomp (1): This card is probably gonna be as good as Onyx Bishop. Yes, its stats are complete crap, but it is cheaper and will bring the resurrected minion back one more time. This will make for one sticky board.

  • Priest Uldum Card Reveal - Psychopomp

Thank ya, never heard that term at all before!

  • The Odd One Out

I got it...the FireFest page explains what's about to happen:

    Blackrock Crash Week 2: July 17 - 24:

    • The Blackrock Crash is still going, but now it’s time to call in the heavy-hitters. This week you’ll fight the Blackrock bosses with a new Arch-Villainous playable Hero!
    • Rewards:
      • Earn 1 Saviors of Uldum Card Pack the first time you defeat 4 bosses
      • Beat all 8 bosses using Arch-Villain Rafaam to earn a Golden Rafaam’s Scheme card
  • The Odd One Out

    Quote From bananaMurloc

    Do'h!! You're right. I missed the boss.

I was confused by the Tavern Brawl, where you're supposed to play a league of EVIL member against Ragnaros and company...yet only 4 classes are playable??

But then, WHY is Rafaam not playable in this Tavern Brawl?

He's the protagonist in next week's brawl AFAIK

  • Would you like to have an "open all packs" option?

    Quote From Zwane

Personally I would like to have buttons to

    1. Open all your packs

    2. See on 1 screen what new cards I got (now I need to click through all the classes etc)

    3. A button to dust all double (not needed)  golden cards which will update your decks where you used a golden card because you had to

    4. A screen to view all legendary cards I do not own yet and be able to create them from that screen

And it would be nice when opening packs that you can see which card is new and which one is already owned, or maybe just filter out the new ones and dust the double ones immediately? Would save some time later and you are more visually aware of how much unneeded shit you get.

So blizzard please implement this asap.

It is not automatic, but you can do these right now easily from the game (would love to have the automatic button though)

Just telling you in case you dont know, but after reading again I think you do.

    1 Not possible right now.

2 Type "new" on the filters to see only the new cards (sometimes bugs out just a little bit)(maybe you already knew this and just want to have them all on 1 screen after the filter is used.)

3 Typing "Extra" on the card filters to see cards you have 3 or more times on any version (2 for legendaries) (no way to autochange the golden card though)

4 typing "missing" on the filters and entering crafting mode will show you everything you miss. You can type "missing legendary" to see them (there seems to be a bug that marks zayle as missing even if you have the golden version)

Hope this can somewhat help you. And if not, that someone who didnt knew about this gets the info :)

PS: Sorry for the bad use of english present in this message. I know it is horrible on some parts

  • The Pepper Thread - Share Some Good Vibes!

Got a Classic pack from the Grandmasters drops and inside it I found Archmage Antonidas

It was only six packs away from my last Classic Legendary, so sometimes I am lucky too.

  • Priest Uldum Card Reveal - Psychopomp

    Quote From Trollbert

Any idea what’s up with the name

Psychopomps, according to Wikipedia, are "creatures, spirits, angels, or deities in many religions whose responsibility is to escort newly deceased souls from Earth to the afterlife. Their role is not to judge the deceased, but simply to guide them."
