  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

I regret opening the game and playing it today. What a terrible day for playing Hearthstone. I think Standard, at least, has reached a coin flip status. Or rock-paper-scissors. There are no surprises and lots of losses intertwined with wins. My day on the standard ladder: win 1, lose 1, win 1, lose 1, win 2, lose 1, win 1, lose 3, win 2, lose 4, win 1, lose 1, etc. It's a little better than a day playing Texas Holde 'em, though, so there's something to be less salty about. But it's not far from being like Texas Holde 'em.

And with that knowledge, I think I'll take a day away from this stupid game and return to it the day after with the idea that I'm just going to do whatever it takes to get more gold and not more rank. I have also decided that my goal to make all my heroes golden is a stupid goal. I don't want to spend money on this stupid game. I want this game to be formatted better and then maybe I'll spend some money on this game. I'm going to start playing the decks that get me the most gold every day. I'm going to focus exclusively on quests and the 100 gold daily limit. And arena, only if I can swing it to double dip on the quests.

I'm not a big Arena player, but if I may, it feels a bit strange for 1 to the highest rating, and 5 to be the lowest. In most cases, you expect the other way around.

I was also confused first time I saw it. You'll get use to it.

Nice guide! Did not know about some of the stuff! Also that free quest will be sweet

  • A quick PSA about dusting cards

Home is a long way away.  I consider dusting a strategy and a big part of the game.  For instance, I play the same deck on all accounts - even the F2P ones.  I look at the cards and dust what I can to get a winning deck for the meta and hopefully beyond.  On my P2W account, I never dust anything except extras, but for F2P I would advise finding a deck you really like, something T1 in the meta, but also look for versatile cards like Zilliax that are good in everything.  Extra, Rarity:Legendary, and Rarity:Epic are a great dustmine.

  • Have you pre-ordered the expansion yet?

Probably not going to pre-order: I bought the Heist and the Wild bundle recently, so I've spent enough money on Hearthstone for now. I got a lot of dust on the rotation and haven't spent much of it yet, so if I don't draw the cards I want from the packs I buy with gold, I can just craft them.

So instead of a pick-a-class- and that doesn't matter at all system, you either make a deckbuilding restriction, that make broken combos harder ( no more than 5 class cards from each, rest neutral/all class cards have to cost 4 or less...) or you make the restrictions miniquests in themselves: "in a deck with at least 10 neutral beasts you may use Hunter and Druid.

Also, what's up with these relations? Some look weird. I suggest looking up the daily quests, which two Classes are mostly put together.

Ooh, I like those restrictions. Will play with them a bit.

As for the relations, I just took the classes in the order they are in the game when you build your deck. Figured it'd be easier to track, both for me when making the expansion, and for a potential player. But your quest idea isn't bad either.

Hmm... You're right about the Rune Priest OTK. Guess I could get away with it by "nerfing" Apprentice and Elemental so they don't reduce below (1).

As for discover, that's something that somehow slipped my mind. Before I answer that, I need to figure out how broken burgle Rogue is in this format.

  • Help with expansion concept.

That is really complicated, I also do not really see, why you play, say, hunter with only mage and druid cards. There is simply no hunter left in this, so I fail to see any reason why you'd have to select it at the start. And thus, if you want to play magedruid, you just do, no deckbuilding restriction whatsoever- which strikes me as overpowered.

  • Help with expansion concept.

The idea for the Dual-Class cards certainly sounds interesting, but tying them to playing the class in-between them seems incredibly strange. A Mage, for example, would be playing Hunter and Paladin cards, but would also Discover Mage cards? Or would it be Hunter and Paladin cards? Would their be 9 new Heroes for this?

So something like Secret Plan suddenly becomes a very different card. Hunter and Warrior weapons being buffed by the Druid Hero Power. Sorcerer's Apprentice and Radiant Elemental in the same deck! OTK has never been easier.

Class cards aren't designed to interact with other class cards well. I'm sure there are many other broken interactions outwith OTK Rune Priest.

  • A quick PSA about dusting cards

I stopped dusting anything except extras a while ago. I saved up and didn't dust cards for a long time then once I built up a bunch of duplicates I only dust cards when I have something specific to craft and only duplicates. It has saved me a lot when cards go from crap to great and I still have them. I think the key to smart use of dust is patience. If you want something right away you pay a premium for it. If you wait then you can work the system more intelligently. This strategy works out great when cards get nerfed too as I usually have them for dusting.

Right now I only dust commons without any regard to anything.

  • A quick PSA about dusting cards

The problem with dusting legendary classic cards isthat you can get them back, however you will never get duplicate copies of the legendaries. I should know because I have dusted Lorewalker Cho a couple of times. Sometimes dusting a useless legendary is a necessary evil, though, because it's far cheaper to craft the card you need for a deck than buying tons of packs hoping to get the exact card you need. As a matter of fact, I think I got a lot of value out dusting Lorewalker Cho twice given that at the time I had the classic legendaries I needed anyway.

Everything else in the OP is right on, though. Legendaries that come to you should typically just stay in your collection, especially if they are part of an expansion set. Every expansion different cards become very important. As a matter of fact, between expansions it can also happen. Barista Lynchen didn't catch on until last month, really.

  • Have you pre-ordered the expansion yet?

I haven't pre-ordered and not sure if I will. I'm going to try to accumulate as much gold as possible and see if I can use it to buy lots of packs. This game is expensive when you spend money on it, sales and discounts or not. I am glad they offer pre-orders, because buying in bulk at the beginnning of a season is a good deal. Still, I try to save up gold if I can. Not always possible, but sometimes it is. I bought fifty packs when Rise of Shadows was released, all with gold. It felt good not to have to spend the money.

Also, I'm cheap and I only buy things when they're on sale. Or, I should say, "on sale."

It's been an hour, I still haven't won once. I hate this brawl, and I have to win 3 times to do the quest.

Felt the same.  Had to win on NA. EU and Asia.

Though it's just done now, took a lot longer than most weeks.

  • Help with expansion concept.

This sounds more like a tavern brawl than an expansion. I like the concept though. Would make for some really broken decks I imagine and some fun deck building.

  • Have you pre-ordered the expansion yet?

Of course, I will but why miss a chance to grouse about Blizzard and shady deals and they shit they pull day in and day out.  Joking aside, I believe operations and content have improved substantially since the re-org and appreciate the direction of the managers of the new shop.  Props :), I even bought that wild bundle for dust, well played.

  • Decks Assemble!

I freaking love this brawl, especially with Twinspell and Echo being in standard. Already had the sickest Commander Rhyssa Desperate Measures Exotic Mountseller combo game.

    give a minion reborn ?

    That sounds pretty likely!

Don't think they will do that. Desperate Stand gives a minion reborn with its own way and it costs 2 mana without a body. 1-cost 1/1 that gives reborn could be gamebreaking.

I definitely agree that the dev team is doing great in terms of nerfs, buffs (BUFFS??!!!), communication, and working towards goals that are clearly community driven. I hope that turns towards some new game mode entry soon, though. And I definitely don't mean soonTM. :D

This is a very good point. Blizzard has managed to do a lot of the things the community has been suggesting for years. Regular nerfs, buffs, introductions to the Classic Set... The interactions between expansions are, as far as I know, an unmentioned idea among the HS playerbase, so the more respect to them.

A new game mode could really mark the HS Renaissance that 2019 has been!

  • reveal the new cards

    Quote From FrostyFeet

The official site has the empty slots waiting for the community reveal timetable but it's still empty. About two weeks until community reveals should be a solid guess. Blizzard has previously given us some cards via blog posts even before the community reveals start so make sure to check our front page every now and then for latest reveals (usually blogs happen at 10:00 PDT/13:00 EDT/19:00 CEST).

didn't want to open a new thread so I'm asking in here, Will be a countdown in frontpage like we used to see when they reveal the reveal times (revealing reveal times lol)?
