And here i am enjoying to play mech priest at r10. It's probably worse than most other decks but I can at least play priest this way without getting stomped for 3 matches in a row
Thanks for sharing the news with us. It's really interesting to learn more about the devs' opinion on the state of the wild meta and the possible features they are thinking on including some day.
Btw I had a feeling, that the next expansion is going to be all about assembling a League of GOOD/PROTECTORS (aka Avengers). The first expansion is all about EVILdoers robbing the magical city and logically the next one would include gathering people to restore its lost glory.
I've stopped taking the Data Reaper Report seriously since they released Rise of Shadows because from one week to the next it's pretty much different. Last week Hunter was obviously very popular, but today all I'm facing are warriors. It's like tug-of-war. Hunter gets popular, then people counter that with Rogue, then people counter that with Warrior, then people counter that with Mage or Hunter again. Bomb Hunter keeps returning because it counters both conjuring mage and warriors but it's weak to Rogue decks. They always say "the meta plays against itself" and that's what's happening, just at a faster, repetitive rate than I've seen before (I haven't been playing the game for more than 2 years, so maybe it's been like this before). So, Monday Warriorstone, Tuesday Hunterstone, Wednesday Roguestone.
I had a quest "Win 3 games as Priest", so obviously I chose to play my beloved Thief deck and goofed around on rank 5. I won some matches, lost others, but the games I had were exciting. For example I laughed when I met this mill rogue, who wasn't aware of my deck's main strategy:
I also met a Reno Priest, who decided to give up on their burn strategy and go for the memes:
I lost that game, because I couldn't draw my deathrattle minions fast enough and my quest got completed a turn too late, but it was still enjoyable seeing my opponent wanting to goof around as well. So thanks, Frau "Braut".
Sometimes the deck whiffs badly, but when you can get it right, and you plan/pilot correctly, it can beat nearly anything. Which is surprising for an off-meta Priest in Wild.
____
As for myself in this thread, today I met a Warlock playing an infinite SN1P-SN4P turn. Full board of big bodies on turn 7 or something. I guess he was already tasting the smell of overpowering victory against me.
At the moment, I find ladder very annoying because there isn't a comfortable nexus between Bomb Warrior and Bomb Hunter.
Decks that benefited from buffs, and would theoretically farm Warrior are, themselves, farmed by Bomb Hunter. Decks that beat Hunter are often beaten by Warrior, unless they are teched towards Warrior, which hurts the Hunter match up. 2 Classes are DOA, priest & warlock. Your sort of left with coin flips of Mech Token Druid and Murwock Shaman, neither of which feel super good to play IMO.
I am glad that we're towards the end of this cycle. It has been a good and interesting one, but it's time to move on. Truthfully, I haven't even had the desire to ladder for about 2 months.
So Hunter confirmed as the most popular class in the meta, yet Rogue seems to be able to resist, despite the nerfs. But I guess Rogue players knew that already.
What do you think? Do you see more margin of development after the mid-term buffs? Or are we approaching staleness already, no matter what?
One thing to note is that in the Legend rank we have a very close race here with Hunter and Warrior in a dead heat, Mage and Rogue right next to them, and Shaman close enough to matter as well. The "hunter wins!" is mostly in the lower ranks. It suggests that Hunter is being seen as the cheapest/easiest class to rank up with but it's NOT the strongest.
I think there's still room to build off of this meta over at that top end. Many of these decks are still being figured out as far as who beats who and tech options. We're at the point we would normally be at 1 month into the expansion, where most of the tiers are set though their cards aren't solid and there may still be a few surprises coming later on.
For the majority of the playerbase, staleness should be just now creeping in. For those more dedicated and professional, this is probably a very interesting time, especially since the decks themselves aren't easy to master.
A few things to note:
1. At the moment, it looks like I might be eating crow about the buffs. I feared it would either be worthless or game breaking and so far they've done neither. Some of those cards have made new decks and those decks have mixed in to make a pretty diverse meta.
2. While I'm sure a lot of folks hate Hunter right now, the Midrange hunter variant is extremely cheap using only Zul'jin and two Master's Call: the rest is literally common cards. So we not only have a meta that gets complex and mixed at the upper end, but there's a cheap deck for new players to grab and go.
3. We're a few weeks before the announcement of the next expansion. Boomsday was announceed on the 10th of July. So we literally have 2 weeks of this meta before its' time to look at new cards.
So yeah, the meta itself isn't stale but it will be for the majority in the lower ranks. But there won't be much time for everyone to get bothered. Between the single player content and the buffs I think Blizzard figured out how to basically nuke the stale period of an expansion while increasing revenue, without the playerbase going into a riot.
Got to admit, the new guard did well this run. Now to see how well they handle non-rotation expansions and how they'll mix up the single player content (because I think the Dungeon Run cow has been milked dry at this point)
- Naga Sea Witch didn´t have that big winrate, but she was nerfed because It wasn´t fun to lose against that combo.
Instead, playing and losing against Big Priest and Darkest Hour Warlock is very fun and we deserve them in the meta...
___
As for the next expansion, I bet on something Titan-related, Uldum, Uldir, or a new one, but similar. And I expect both Sir Finley Mrrgglton and Reno Jackson to be reprinted into new versions of themselves. Maybe Brann Bronzebeard too.
I think we will definitely be seeing more reno jackson. I remember in a older article they said that they would be making more single copy cards, they also said that the next expansion would be themed similar to league of explorers. and now they are saying that sir finely will be coming back.
- Naga Sea Witch didn´t have that big winrate, but she was nerfed because It wasn´t fun to lose against that combo.

I believe Mike's comment on SN1P-SN4P and Wild was that the OTK decks (Mechwarper and Summoning Portal) are not strong based on their internal data, more like a meme level.
- There will be a few meme cards in the next expansion. (They have few of them for every expansion.)
WILD:
- Possible nerf for Big Priest in Wild would be primary Barnes, because nerfing all the ressurect effects would kill every other deck types (probably).
- Mike was also asking about what Wild people want to nerf in Big Priest.
- They are getting a ton of questions about Big Priest in Wild.
- Mike is actually playing wild a lot and his favorite deck is Reno Mage with N'Zoth. (Didn´t share his decklist tho :/)
- SNIP SNAP is not being really played in Wild so no nerfs needed.
- Naga the Sea Witch didn´t have that big winrate, but she was nerfed because It wasn´t fun to lose against that combo.
- More "Glowing" types around cards has been already discussed but nothing to announce. (Mike said an example that they wanted to do a special red glow around E.V.I.L cards.)
- Removing "The Darkness" from the random generating cards (Evolve, Summon effects, etc) has been discussed and it might happen in the future.
- Expansion hints (as we saw with New Year announcement) are made to not spoil anything and they might be done to confuse players.
- We might see a new board design in the future with cards placed on it facing down to show everyone better your cardback and also clicking on the cardback would show it´s full art. (But it was just an idea and Mike said that it would be hard to get done.)
- Indicator for Hagatha´s token (Drustvar Horror) will be added in the future because a lot of people is asking about that.
Personally, not something strictly HS related. I mean, where I live HS is too niche, so basically the meaningfulness of the tatoo would be wasted.
Some arts in HS are very cool tho, and may be good candidates for tatoos that are more generic and aesthetically appreciated, even without game references.
Either way, I'm just too unstable to ever get a tatoo that could represent me on its own, without myself regretting it in time and wishing a different picture or symbol, instead...
I'm also incredibly scared it would not look as i imagined. I couldn't stand that.
I think this is pretty much what I already guessed from personal experience. It has basically been Hunterstone again for a little while now.
But I've avoided saying it outright since you usually get all the diehard naysayers come out of the woodwork. But I think it's been fairly obvious for some time.
And I agree, the nerfs to Rogue seemed to do little-to-nothing...
You have a point there. But then the question with tattoos always is: what does the person wearing it think about it? What meaning has it for him/her? While the legendary card dragon for exmpale has a very specific meaning of itself, you can easily expand and add some dragon related attributes like freedom, power, fantasy which will keep their significance no matter what happens to hearthstone. (That's one of the reasons I wouldn't do the HS swirl by the way... that would be HS and nothing else.) And of course tattoos don't have to have meaning at all. What might be a themed motive for you might have been chosen for aesthetical reasons only be the wearer.
So yeah, in the end, tattoos are a question everybody has to answer for oneself. I like to encourage a discussion about possible motives, but I wouldn't go so far as trying to influence people whether to do it or not.
I work in an office with plenty of people 50+ who have tattoos and absolutely no one cares.
Tattoos are generally pretty accepted these days, stay away from face and hands and you should be good to go.
fair enough.
I just don't think tattoos are a good idea because they will be there for the rest of your life, and your opinion will change a lot. maybe in a year or so you will think hearthstone is dumb and you will regret the tattoo. well than the only thing to do is shrug and try to ignore it. you gain nothing from getting a tattoo, and one day you will probably regret it.
getting a tattoo is okay (except on the face and hands, as you mentioned) but getting a themed tattoo seems like a big mistake. if you just get a generic kind of interesting looking pattern on your shoulder, that's fine, but getting something from a video game, that is definitely something you will have a different opinion about in 10 years.
but ultimately, this is your decision, so get whatever tattoo you like, at your own risk.
lol, all my tatoos are themed, I mean you get tattoos of stuff you like not something you dislike, I have a tattoo related to my fav band and my fav game, and they've been my favs in those categories for a long time and there is no way it's ever gonna change
oh and I work an office job where a lot of my colleagues do actually have tattoos and no one even tries to hide them, even my manager has a whole sleeve and no one cares
basically if it's not a penis on your forehead than you're fine, and that's how it should be, nowadays tattoos are a big industry in itself and not anymore associated with being in prison or in a gang or whatever, tattoos are art and the body is the perfect canvas
in the end it's to each their own, if you don't like tattoos that's fine too, but don't use a tone suggesting one should never get a tattoo just because you think it's a bad idea, quick analogy would be that I'm a dude and I don't like gay sex but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of gay dudes that enjoy it ;)

So today I was doing the random deckbuilding challenge and I ended up landing on Exotic Mountseller. While yes, I ended up building a deck that included two copies of her, I never really felt like the card did anything too useful in it.
Has anyone found her a home anywhere?
I have seen a couple of big shamans using it along side some smaller spells to use with spirit of the frog. it is not the most optimal way to build a big shaman, but it is not a bad way to get some use for exotic mountseller.

Here's some art, make a card! [Legacy Game]
Next art:
must be a spell
and must interact with your deck or your opponents somehow.
Use for Exotic Mountseller?
I found it useful in Wild Shaman decks for Evolve and Thrall, Deathseer

Content:
"POSSIBLE" SPOILERS FOR THE NEXT EXPANSION
- Another potential "spoiler" for Loe and desert as we didn´t see any other desert kind of expansions than Loe?
- There is a card in the next expansion that was really hard to create and a lot of people worked at it.
- We might see a Finley one day again.
- There will be a few meme cards in the next expansion. (They have few of them for every expansion.)
WILD:
- Possible nerf for Big Priest in Wild would be primary Barnes, because nerfing all the ressurect effects would kill every other deck types (probably).

POSSIBLE FEATURES, DESIGN, UI, CARDS, ETC
- More "Glowing" types around cards has been already discussed but nothing to announce. (Mike said an example that they wanted to do a special red glow around E.V.I.L cards.)

- One day we might see more quest cards.
- We might see a new permanent mode in the future (something like adventures).
- They already spoke about Nozdormu effect Tavern Brawl and longer turn-making cards but they were too hard to make, so they gave up on these ideas.
INTERESTING THINGS IN GENERAL
- Ben Brode actually hired Mike to work with him.
- They have a special "Button" in their office at Chad´s desk which is doing Ben Brode's laugh if they press it.
