  • Fantasy Formats: What do you Want?

I would love a construcred format with a monthly rotation of 3 different sets each time, like the actual Brawl but on Ladder. It will bring so much freshness both on gameplay and deckbuilding.

  • Brawl Bug - Duplicate Legendaries

This autocomplete issue has been in quite a few brawls already, last time we saw autocomplete this issue was also there.

  • Star Aligner Mage

So far this deck has gotten me to rank 5 which is pretty crazy to m . The deck is overall very controlling and in late game shines with ragnaros out of left field and star aligner to push for turns of 28 damage or 35 damage due to how it plays out. It is able to do well in the long games, very aggressive decks are more difficult but not impossible to bea . If you get to turn 8 or higher your chances should be about 62% to win.

  • C'Thun Warlock

Day 3 technically; since 12am Eastern.  The deck is rapidly losing steam to quite a number of AoEs played now that kill 1 health minions.  I mention this as my card draw has been heavy on tokens and it's an aggro environment now.

    Went 4-11 during this stretch.

  • Brawl Bug - Duplicate Legendaries

This issue is probably too small to be news post worthy but I think it would be interesting to discuss it anyway.

There has been reports on Reddit that when using the autocomplete feature, you can end up with duplicate legendaries in your Brawl deck. One user also reports getting Don Han'Cho in a Druid deck. I sure hope this is only a brawl issue...

Have you noticed anything weird with autocomplete? Or have you faced a player with too many copies of a legendary?

I have only posted a little, but I cannot find an easy way to keep track of discussions I've participated in. Am I missing something or is there nothing to miss yet?

Apologies if this question is in the wrong forum or if it has already been answered.

While notifications is something to look forward to in the future, there is currently a way to keep track of discussions that you have participated in.

Your profile page has "Posts" and "Threads." Both of these features can be used to keep track of discussions that you have participated in. Hopefully, you read this... (as there are no notifications)

  • Vargoth goblin prank glitch

In Hearthstone, "end of turn" effects are only triggered at the beginning of the end of turn step, not in the middle of it. Goblin Prank kills a minion when the end of turn step begins. When Vargoth cast Goblin Prank, because the end of turn step had already begun, Goblin Prank did not kill him during that turn. The Goblin Prank buff lasts until the beginning of an end of turn step, at which point the buff kills the minion, which is what happened. This is the same reason why Vargoth casting Shadow Essence and getting Lich King/Ragnaros won't trigger their effects immediately. Y'Shaarj works the same way.

  • Vargoth goblin prank glitch

So... Please help me explain this:

With Vargoth up, I played Goblin prank on a minion, and it recast on vargoth himself at end of turn, but (as expected, same as Soularium interaction) he didn't die. Excellent. Even better, he survived to my next turn.

To my surprise, when I pressed end turn, he instantly died!! As if the Goblin Prank effect triggered a turn later! I certainly felt pranked, to say the least!

(P.s. I don't run goblin prank - picked it from marked shot)

  • Fantasy Formats: What do you Want?

Sealed deck mode, that's what I want!

  • Fantasy Formats: What do you Want?

As LyraSilvertongue previously said, my ideal format too is one where all cards are in their pre-nerf form. This format would be insane, and very unbalanced, but it would represent a true battle of titans, with the game's greatest decks battling it out. Is Naga Sea Witch fast enough to beat Undertaker? Can 2 mana Fiery War Axe, Charge Patches and 3/2 Small-Time Buccaneer beat out 2 mana Frost Nova and 5 mana Blizzard Freeze Mage? Can anything stop Star Aligner with 0 mana 2 crystal Innervate, 5 mana Spreading Plague and pre-nerf Nourish/Wild Growth? I'd love to see which decks ended up as the kings of such a format.

The only exception I would make is for Reckless Experimenter and Shadowboxer, as those cards were pre-emptively nerfed, in the sense that the overpowered deck that would have featured them never actually existed. Dreadsteed is similar, but I don't think Dreadsteed/Defile is broken enough to merit any changes in this format.

Ideally, you would unlock the format by buying a bundle (available for gold or cash) that gave you the special pre-nerf versions of all the cards, fully golden and undisenchantable with a special rarity gem, for use only in the format. I love Wild because it has the most powerful decks Hearthstone has to offer, and I'd love to see this format (Untamed seems like a fitting name) as the Vintage to Wild's Legacy.

  • Fantasy Formats: What do you Want?

    Quote From GerritDeMan

I would like to see a format with rotating sets, the included sets should be changed after a set period of time (maybe a month, maybe multiple months, but not longer than that).

I would also love to have a custom format in which you can set up games yourselves and choose your own rulesets (and maybe choose from tavern brawl rulesets as well?). You could of course allow other players to join, or make it private to friends only. I don't think this will ever happen but one can dream.

    Blizz has created a brawl just for you, and it's really fun ;

Mount from northrend. Really, I'd like to see more mounts in the game. So many cool ones that would make great cards.

Fuck Arena. I decided to try it out after 3 years of ignoring it. I read about strategies. I watched streamers. I got Heartharena. And still... get fucked after 2-3 games. I mean, 2-3 and 3-3 runs are not good for someone who’s been to rank 5 over a dozen times and knows how to play. WTF!

  • Theoretical question about the expansion's design.

    Quote From Gaido

Imagine that you have to design new Hearthstone's expansion.

The trick is, you know, that there will be no more packs. Each card will be available for a small amount of gold.

How do you design all 135 cards, so that every one of them will be cool to buy?

    -------------------------------

I'm asking because I'm developer and Acivision wants me to make more money, but thay can't sell lootboxes anymore, and I don't know what to do with all 90 bad Uldum's card ...

    ------------------------------

...just joking. I'm no one. hehe. So funny. lols

    ------------------------------

But seriously. How to do that?

Well, I'm guessing this is related to a certain bill that's running around.

If the question is specifically how to run this without lootboxes, Blizzard already has a mechanism: the Adventures.  Simply dump all of the cards into different floors with a set cost.  So long as it's not randomized it's not a 'loot box'.  Meanwhile you can mix in good cards with not so good cards.

Boom, a system to have a mix of cards with without lootboxes.

If the real question is specific.. how to handle cards with set indivdiual prices... two ways:

    1. F it, just put them up.  Cards aren't exactly real merc that needs to be sold.  So if they make some cards no one wants to buy who cares so long as they make enough sales overall.  So they are free to have the card quality stay the same.  They can also be a little more sneaky and offer pre-orders for 'the entire set' or 'an entire class' and have it be cheaper to buy the entire set than it would be to individually pick all of the 'good' cards.

(so if 80 of 120 cards are good, you just make sure that..say, buying 80 individual cards cost $75 and buying EVERYTHING costs $55)

    2. Have the prices 'flex' in a market.  Thus more in demand cards cost more than others.

Myself I would have all of the cards have a 'maximum' price that they start off in at the start of a set, then have the prices drop as they lose in demand.  So wanting the cards early means you pay to access it now. If you wait, you get a discount.  If the card stays popular though the discount will be smaller.

    So yeah, there's ways.

Though note that the law also bans cash shops as well, so this would be illegal.  So what I would do is this:

Realize that it's the game companies who make the rating system not hte govnermnet, so I'm free to change "M" to "18+" to avoid games going to "AO".  Then require all games with microtransactions to be "M" only.  Thus Hearthstone becomes an M rated game: 18 or older. All of the systems are open to use after that.

  • What can be done to steer priest away from just the rez/big strat?

You want a real answer or a fantasy about a perfect world were everything is perfect?

There are a feel ways and all involve create powerfull strategies.

You could unnerf Raza for example.

While it was really powerfull the nerf was arbitrary and did not consider that it is good for wild in the long term that powerfull decks get a decent skill ceiling.

Wild metagame not moves fast and sometimes stop for a long time.

So you need alternative ways to change it like put big learning curves for example. That way people change but cards not and it still produce meta shifts.
