  • Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links

Anyone here play Duel Links? Folk are always talking about Shadowverse or Eternal or Magic Arena or whatever in their Hearthstone downtime but I rarely see mention of good old Yu-Gi-Oh! I go through phases but I prefer it to all of the above and currently I'm playing it more than HS. I don't have any great insight to add, I'm just curious.

  • JoJo Stands as Legendaries!

While the flavor is all there (good job!), some of them will be unplayable at best: Hyerophant Green it's almost a dead card in late game unless it will be able to target also the enemy hero and Metallica won't even have sense since Warlock's HP is to draw a card.

Also, Dio Brando is sad because you didn't put his Za Wardo :(

I think so, poll for new cards make sense a lot than what I said previously. But I still think I saw that kind of contest, or maybe I'm wrong, who knows? Either way, I'm in for new mini-games such as this one if possible and making them sticky would be great.

  • Best Adventure of all time!

The best PvE adventure is League of Explorers, the Dungeon Runs don't even come close imo.

  • Best Adventure of all time!

Like some already said - I too feel like this is a strong candidate for the best adventure \ PvE content so far; The setting is really nice, the bosses diverse and interesting, the random effects (be it the extra "treasures" or the anomaly mode) really spice things up and keep it fresh. I felt like the difficulty on normal was on a good level - it didn't feel too easy (unless you lucked into some ridiculous combination) and on the other hand didn't feel like it completely relied on luck (whether it being card RNG, things offered, encounter order etc. I'm looking at you - Rastakhan's Rumble).

I do however second what user RavenSunHS said about the playable heroes (sorry, couldn't figure out how to quote people without messing my entire comment) - Many playable heroes felt too cartoony, and I do feel like this has gotten worse with each week. For me, this is so bad that whenever I play Rogue or Druid, I just have to mute the game... Their quips especially felt fine the first time I played with them, but now they just annoy me.

Im not sure i get what you mean. Do you mean like a poll for new revealed cards? Im sure we will have that for next expansion during reveal period. Kinda pointless for established cards (the guessing, you can still rate them how you see them), since we already know which cards are good or bad. Even tho good/bad is still not you kinda still have to set some parameters, since just sayin a card is bad can be false, since you would have to consider different play modes or situations (new player good etc.).

  • Improving the Collectible Card Search Filter Page

I could have sworn that the "proposed layout" by Snailborne was what we actually had lol. Maybe it was changed after a while, but yeah, the current window is way too small and makes things uncomfortable. The card search engine is not in its final form by a long shot, but lets hope this QOL feature will get back sooner rather than later haha :)

About being able to filter by keywords and card text, definitely something that will be added.

  • The MtG:Arena Player's Club Tavern... of Doom....!

If I had to guess, I'd say that they'll probably give players some new decks with new cards. They'll have to update beginner's decks anyway and may give existing players part of what next newbies will get.

But I doubt they'll go as far as giving 10 full new decks to existing players.

BTW, I think it is likely that they'll change stuff new players get before rotation and together with the release of 2020 because in paper magic core sets are usually focused at newer players.

  • Hall of Fame Replacements Coming 'Very Soon' To Classic Set

I want to know about cardbacks when they gonna bring the old ones back.  :/

  • Improving the Collectible Card Search Filter Page

I complained about this in another thread. Flux said that visual improvements were planned, so hopefully this'll get addressed. They know about the problem, at least.

On a related note, I'd really like to be able to search for card text at some point. Had to go back to hearthpwn just for that D:

  • Contest Ideas-Vote and Guess Game

I remember that at one time on Hearthpwn, around the end of Ungoro era, we could be able to vote which cards are good or which cards are bad. It's different from individual card pages where we can vote. I believe there should be something sweet added for some twist: Let us vote cards while guessing at same time. People who got it right should get an achievement. I think these kind of "games" should attract more attention and unite the community more often.

So, what do you think of this idea? Is it good or bad?

  • Improving the Collectible Card Search Filter Page

Sorry for no response so far, we get a lot of feedback (which is very much appreciated) but we don't always have time to respond. Also Flux is the code guy so the rest of us can't really promise much. But that would definitely be an improvement, I hope it's easy to implement.

About forum rules...I think we haven't written those yet so they are indeed a bit hard to find :D Luckily you people who have found your way here have been acting superbly so there hasn't been a need for them. But we definitely need to write those at near future. This thread bump wouldn't break any rules though.

Also: Paint-made pictures are the best pictures.

Stands and their abilities from JoJo's Bizzare Adventure in Hearthstone! What do you think?

I just love the art of this card. Especially golden one. So good.

What a nice idea. If it will ever be implemented maybe it could also be added a mini lore-guide for each hero, just to add some flavor around.

Chimera has already done that in individual class guides: https://outof.cards/guides. I find them very good indeed.

Didn't get any response, I'm trying to bump this a bit.

Hope I'm not breaking any rules by doing so, but I couldn't find a forum rules section... Maybe add it somewhere easily accessible?

  • Hall of Fame Replacements Coming 'Very Soon' To Classic Set

Maybe they could add an option similar to Conquest mode banning, where you choose a class that either gets banned from your matchups (for that game only) or does not quite get banned, but gets the probability of a matchup lowered by some significant percentage, say 25%, and the choices are a random three classes (so you cant ALWAYs choose priest). They could also make it so you can never ban the mirror class (maybe the percentage decrease applied to the chosen class is added to the mirror class to avoid queue issues (let Big Priests play other Big Priests more often... get a taste of their own medicine, lol, though I am not sure that it would really even cause queue issues). I realize this is a pretty fundamental change, so maybe its not active except in Casual, or in a mode of its own?

Strikes me that this could be a way that would not only reduce the impact of runaway archetypes like Big Priest in Wild, but would do so without card nerfing, and would open up design space overall somewhat, as it could be applied against other problem matchups by people who enjoy playing decks which lack various answers to other bad matchups.  I think this would allow a broader range of deck types to be played across classes.

This sort of approach could be the type of change (in general, not specifically) he refers to when they mention doing something other than nerfs and buffs to deal with issues/refresh the meta.

  • Hall of Fame Replacements Coming 'Very Soon' To Classic Set

What I'd personally like to see in situations where card nerfs aren't the answer (Baku, Patches etc.) is a ban system where certain cards cannot be played in (either) Ranked modes but are still available to use un-nerfed in other modes. Rework the Hall of Fame as a home for banned cards.

  • Hall of Fame Replacements Coming 'Very Soon' To Classic Set

I would love new "Reno-syle" cards in future expansion set, hoping they'll be neutral like Kazakus and not class-restricred.

Keeping on eye on Big Priest? Bah. The polarizing aspect of Big Priest is its problem, not its win rate. If they really wanted to adress it they could have done it long ago.

More than buffs on Classic, I would hope a complete rework of Basic for all classes: some of them are good, some are very good, some are just awful. A more well rounded Basic set for everyone will probably make it easier for the Devs to print class specific cards on each new expansion set, instead of having to always keep up with the flaws of each one that have to be addressed each time.

  • Heroes Gallery

Sounds like something we could do for sure ;-)

  • Hall of Fame Replacements Coming 'Very Soon' To Classic Set

After all this time, and considering how swiftly they can and have nerfed archetypes when they want to, the only plausible reasons for not doing something about Big Priest by now are they don't want to do anything about it or they don't know how.

At this point, because they've allowed it to go too far, no one or two cards getting nerfed (not even Barnes) is gonna cut it, it needs to be nuked from orbit.

  • So Hearthpwn is dealing warnings to users who mentions Outof.cards now?

    Quote From Thonson

The weird thing is that it states the reason is "advertising" but also mentions "Our forums are not a place for you to advertise your own website."

I'm guessing you don't own OoC, Uilebol.  And I also assume you have no real affiliation with them.  So "advertising your own site" doesn't really apply as a reason here.

It also bothers me as I have seen so many threads in the past from people advertising their Twitch stream, etc, and some of those threads had a VERY long history of posts by the streamer promoting their own content on the forums.  Where was their warning?  Or the deletion of their posts?  I know it's a different crew in charge now.  So sre those threads being taken down and dealt with now as advertising?  Or what about when people would make comments/suggestions to other users on the forums that HS Replay had the data they needed and to check there for deck lists, etc?

I guess it's only breaking the rules if you're mentioning a competing site that could be directly siphoning off their user base?  HearthPwn really either should have stuck to their guns and let the site die or sold to Flux!

Yeah, as Chimera already mentioned, the msg you get from the warning system is an automated msg originally created to cover a broader area. There is an option to add a manually written msg, which was not used in this case.

Also, the warnings on hpwn werent too fleshed out, you usually had to find one that would fit the "crime" best, which often could result in the offender wondering, why they got this particular warning for their offense, most neutral one was "Non-constructive posting", which didnt exactly specify the problem, but it was usually the best of the available options at the time. I know ppl were often confused by that, it was just how the system was set up. We worked with the tools we got.

    ---

About the Streamers promoting their channels. We had a rule on hpwn, that streamers were allowed to create a single thread where they would promote their channel and they were allowed to bump it once a day. Thats why you could find months and years old threads with nothing but streamers promoting their channels and no other responses, they didnt do anything wrong, thats just how it worked.

  • Mimiron's Head?

It's a fun meme deck, but it's not worthwhile in the long run. The fact that you have to sacrifice 5 cards (2 Target Dummys, Mimiron's Head, Open the Waygate and Molten Reflection) for the OTK, and even more to fulfill the quest means you don't have much space left for control or stall cards. Furthermore, it's Wild, with over 800 spells, there's going to be a lot of variance, and most of it isn't very good.

Wild is just far too powerful for such a deck to work.
